1.6 PvP balance question

Just a question here to people who actually tested some PvP on test server

Did they balance classes / mechanic in the game a bit? or is it still same same joke DK/Templar holding block all the time and spamming skills then heal from near death to full in 0.5 sec? While in same time everything around die like sh*t (this applies mostly to DK opness XD) Because honestly I don't remeber last time when I was so annoyed seeing such gameplay and balance in PvP.

It's still possible to perma block and take only 10-20% of the damage?

Sadly, I've yet to be able to test PvP on the PTS in any format other than duels.

I've not had anyone perma block (though I have had to deal with stacked shields). DKs are fun to fight....Stamina DKs hit pretty hard and Magicka DKs (or the ones I fought at least) were still spamming Talons and Whip but you see far fewer Standards.

I think, once the majority of the kinks are worked out of 1.64 (probably by 1.8.3) that we'll see some good balance in PvP.

Because I just checked various campaigns total points by classes on live, and not hard to suspect DK get's like 50-100% more ap per campaign in PvP than NB, then just slighty more than templar and sorc.

    That's huge difference actually.

On live, for the most part that's true. It's not a good judge because you've got a lot of people who play the game 10-12 hours a day.....I'll never get high AP numbers because I generally only get to play 2-3 hours a night. I think the balance is better, for the most part, in 1.6 but it still needs some work....as with all MMOs where balance is concerned.

So you say it's coincidence there is the same pattern on every campaign DK get most points and NB least lol ?

No, it's because DK is pretty OP on Live. They're not as bad on 1.6. What I'm saying is that going by AP points is a pretty poor way to judge which class is OP. You have to understand that when DK became FOTM (year) there was a huge influx of people who re-rolled. That's why you're seeing tons of DKs in the top spot....there's a lot of them

lol AP gain has nothing to do with class balance. DK's are more popular that's all, especially when it comes to 1vX which most people on top of the leader boards are interested in. No class gains AP faster then another, comes down to the player.

DK's have been rebalanced, templers are going to be a problem if you don't learn to interrupt at 30% and cloth users will be like SS enterprise where they will have shields and spend most of their time proton torpedoing you with fragment procs.

NB haven't been paying attention to. But they seemed wrecked if you go magicka build.

Magicka OP DK's are a Thing of the past, they just don't deal enough damage anymore. Perma block got Kind of addressed by making it more expensive, so only tanky/block oriented characters have enough stamina to maintain block beside casting abilities.

The new thing are perma dodge-roll on Stamina glass-cannons and shield stacking BOL sorcs. The shield stacking got a bit reduced with the 15% nerf in Cyrodiil, but 30k shields are still easy to get.

The main thing that changed is the time to kill (TTK), the removal of the softcaps enables players to reach new levels of power. This basically means if you go damage in 1.6 you will hit harder than on live but you will also receive more damage, whereas if you go tanky you will deal far less damage but will also take less. And since many players choose to go DPS many fights end within seconds after the first mistake is made.
