Any chance for Heavy Armor DPS?

Hi folks,

i'm trying to figure out if it's possible to create an build with Heavy Armor for DPS.
I know that medium Armor has realy strong DPS passiv in it. But i like the old Khnight 2h wielding tin can.
Like an Plate Warrior or Paladin in other MMOs.
I know this is ESO but i like the play style so is there no way to deal a good amount DPS without going to be in 7/7 Medium Armor? or is this realy the ony way?

I think the solution is just to wear a costume that looks like heavy armor.

But the look is one part i search i also need the feeling in close combat. And Medium Armor dosn't protect me that well like the Heavy does. I don't want competiv DPS for Trail leaderboard. Just enough not to be a joke in a party and somewhat helpfull.
My guild is no looking forward to any progress or competiv playing the game. We just wanna enjoy the Vet Dungeons and maybe some normal Trails in the future but i don't wanna be the 5th wheel on the car just while waring heavy armor.
But all i can see is that is Heavy Armor is just and only for Tanking good. To save a place as DPS in party with ths choice seem not to be possible.

Eh, from what I understand if you glyph right you can use HA and be a DPS.
Dream it, wish it, do it... or something...

while I didn't do a lot of testing with it, I think with the champ point abilities and some cost reduction glyphs on your gear you should be able to do decent dps in heavy armor, though of course you wont be quite as high as a pure med/light armor build since you lose out on some of the dps passives like extra crit. I did toy around with seducer/warlock 5 piece sets(5heavy/2light warlock pieces with 3 jewelry) + 3 magicka cost reduction enchants on jewelry with my Templar and had very little magicka issues while soloing.

After today's nerf to the "Unchained" passive you can forget about it. 7/7 heavy has been relegated to strictly tanking. Tanking has benefits though however I really thought that ZOS would have done the correct balancing change in regards to the "Unchained" 360 point champion passive.

Before, with this passive you could break free and stam abilities would cost 80% less stamina for 8 seconds. They have nerfed it down to 80% cost reduction for 3 seconds which is really only enough time to get through the break free animation and cast one ability. Now if the overall magnitude was reduced and the duration or magnitude on that passive was increased by the amount of heavy armor equipped then it would have been a better balanced change.

Sad that heavy had such high hopes only to have them dashed away with a careless and stupidly over the top nerf :disappointed:

Yeah thx @Lionxoft but i pretty sure that this isn't an highly impacting nerf to PvE and using Heavy Armor.

So im testing around the PTS some different Setup with Heavy Armor in combination with some Pieces of Medium armor like a 4/3 (HA/MA) and in my eyes it's not impossible in i'm starting to ovrthink some things like Sets combination.

But since we don't get any Crafting crates on PTS i'ts tu busy to test seriously some stuff and providing some Feedback for this.
But i just tested some numbers with Twice Born star set in comination with 2 activ Mundus stones and it's freaky awesome with the new system.
I was able while wearing this set in combination with an DPS gear set and the 4/3 HA/MA setting, some realy nice decent DPS that was not the top high end DPS but i think around sustainable 9k DPS isn't that bad with only 70 CP points spent.
So i'm for now realy looking forward and i realy think it's possible to do some decent DPS without enchanting all Glyphs on Cost reduction but it's super difficulty to figure out what setup is possible.
Racial choice is more important then in the past and with the right gear and setup you come along with a good result.
Not easy, not the way for Veteran Trails but a good option for "normal" players like me with some sense for Style over Min/Max'ing everything in the game.

So at least not every change in some PTS Notes is just a simple nerf. With some more understanding why is something going more or less in the way we want it just call it simply "balancing".
By taking away all the stuff from the past we know and cleaning up my mind from just sitting there and thinking, "mehh 7% lost here and now other buffs over there" and starting to figure out that there are more ways to archiv some nice numbers. Not the top once but def. decent enough to take a look into it when you are not Min/Maxing everything.

From so far i had a good day on the PTS at least one after all these Sorc changes and with my new Templar setup i'm realy happy for now.
So thanks to some input here and have good test day
