Some Addons will show Exp past VR14 to go up to 1,000,000. Not sure if the game stops counting after that or the addons just can't go any higher due to API restrictions.
I don't know if the stock game does this, but with the Slightly Improved Experience Bar addon, if you float your mouse over the Exp bar, it will show you post VR14 exp.
Based on the fact that the cap is 3600, it should have been a lot more than 70. The veteran ranks are *** fail and the cp's is how it should have been at launch so we should get full credit for all xp gained since launch.

No. You are not supposed to hit the cap. EVER. Cap should never even be mentioned since it should not matter at all. 70 is way too much IMO. It is a shame they promised us that they track our xp. They should have said from the very beginning that everyone starts at zero.

Its not a good idea to give others a headstart, it only creates a huge imbalance among the community.
New systems should always be new for everyone, special snowflakes have no place in them. Sadly ZO caved in to a vocal minority and now we have that mess of 70 points.

I think how people see it is getting rewarded for past work... that's what they advertise with the champ system conversion from the get go.
They announced that all XP matters but they went back on that which is kinda a shame who put in the time to complete all quests which now is wasted and could of been saved. Lucky for me I didn't do those quests but that has left a sour feeling for a lot of people.

My suggestion would have been every 200-400k xp after VR14 your character had earned will gain an additional CP, to a cap maybe 150-200ish, maybe just 170 so 100 extra to grabs possible over a new VR14 with the 70CP.

Well,
A rank 14 has already a reward, its the VR 14 and as far as we know they will stay for a much longer time than once announced ("we remove them with the implementation of the CS").
With 1.6. VR 14 players will now have two benefits, they have a Veteran Rank 14 and the CP´s that should replace the rank.
It would had been much smarter by ZO to give VR 14 players a nice mount, maybe a special motif or some title.
The reward of CP´s while not removing the VR´s is a mistake and I am quite sure that this mistake will backfire soon and might be the reason why the game now goes F2P.
As a new player I would ask myself why I should play a game that has no separation in AvA between a new VR 1 and an old VR 14 player. One side has two rewards and is incredible strong, while the other has not even one reward.
Besides that are Trials and Undaunted groups scaled towards VR 14 players with 70 CP, so that I couldn't even play with my friends as my Char is to weak.
This is just very unattractive for new players, but also those who don't have the VR 14 chars. How such a horrible decision could actually leave their Q&A department is beyond me. Do they really not see this or do they just not care?
Based on the PTS, we gain 1 CP every 4 hours!
A new player is now looking at a disadvantage of over 280 hours of playtime, its incredible. Who really wants to play for 280 hours only to be able to play with his friends?
MMOs are about playing with others and the 280 gap works against that goal.
