Getting things you like without stealing

Is it even possible? It's currently very unclear what course of action we should follow if we want to acquire the following without stealing/murder, but also without paying a vendor exorbitant prices for it (I'm looking at you, Potato)
I'd love some advice from the designers on this. Are we just missing something, or is it a theft-based economy where some players steal things and then sell them to "honest" players at slightly under vendor value? I would have thought there'd be some means of production or acquisition, yanno?
- Recipes
- Provisioning Ingredients
- Clothing
- Immersion Items (Fur-Grooming Kit, Child's Doll, the thousands of other wonderful additions)
- Racial Stones

Elder_III✭✭✭✭You can find those things in areas out of towns that are not owned. They are harder to acquire in that the amount of places to find them may be less, but it's doable.Semi retired from the trading aspects of the game.4 -
mrvbalc✭✭✭yeah in dungeons we can find lot of ingredients, though i have to say it will little bit hard to get motifs and recipes cause finding trunks and shelves in dung's lesser prob than crates and barrels

Elder_III✭✭✭✭Recipes and Motifs are something that will drop from Dwemer, Bosmer or Daedric Urns, plus Khajit Vases , so there are a fair number of Delves/Dungeons and overworld places that you can find them in. Clothing type items will be the hardest to get without thievery, although the market for them is likely allot smaller.Semi retired from the trading aspects of the game.1

vovus69✭✭✭✭I doubt that. Will see when 1.6 will be on prod. Based on what I saw they closed 60-80% of all containers where you can get recipes and especially motifs when made them owned. ✭✭✭✭For those that have some kind of moral issue with stealing in 1.6, think of it this way. You were already stealing before 1.6. This leads to lower number of found motifs/recipes even if everyone will steal them. And you cannot sell it until you will launder it and pay for that.
