Reinforced VS Nirnhoned in 1.6

Spell Resistance: Instead of having a base amount of Spell Resistance that grows as you level, Spell Resistance is now provided by Armor on a 1 to 1 basis. For example, if a piece of gear gives you 2000 Armor, it also gives 2000 Spell Resistance. Passive skills in both the Light Armor and Heavy Armor skill lines will modify this ratio.

I didn't see a buff to Nirnhoned in the patch notes. If it wasn't buffed, wouldn't Reinforced always be better?

Surely that depends. Perhaps on a heavy chest piece, yes, Reinforced might be better, but on a light sash?

It's also unclear right now as to whether the extra armor from reinforced also provides extra spell resistance - it may only increase the armor value and not the spell resistance value.

Using their example, a piece of gear with 2000 armor may actually have 2 values as far as the game is concerned: 2000 armor, and 2000 spell resist. We would assume that because reinforced increases armor by, say, 14%, it'd be 2280 armor and 2280 spell resist (because 1 armor = 1 spell resist, right?)... maybe not, though. The game could apply the boosts individually, meaning that with reinforced the piece of gear would have 2280 armor and 2000 spell resist, and with nirnhoned it'd have 2000 armor and 2280 spell resist.

That is what I would assume would happen.

It is possible because many buffs provide one and not the other, however if we are to take the wording of Gina and the tool tips literally, then reinforced now provides both.

    EDIT
Its easy to test. Just craft the same piece of gear with and without the reinforced trait then check your spell resist. I would do it but I can't get on pts at the moment, and templates have no traits researched.

Has anyone done the comparison by crafting the same piece of armor with reinforced and nirnhoned traits? I would like to know which is better for various pieces of armor. If not, that's cool. I'll just do the test myself tonight. Any advanced information would be helpful and appreciated though!
