Sell old ingredients now or get 10-50% of actual player worth

If we really are getting 10g for all the ingredients that will not be converted, prepare to get paid much less than what most of them were worth to players .This thread will show how much less the difference is. I used two addons to compare. I realise that some addons may be way off( I didn't think lard was that valuable), so perhaps an average would be more accurate .Even so, both addons value was much higher than 10g per ingredient and the average would also probably be higher:

MY INGREDIENT INVENTORY
• 47 ingredient types turn old
• 2733 individual ingredients turn old
• Is worth 268778g according to Price Tracker
• Is worth 54790.4g according to Shopkeeper
• Is worth 27330g according to 10g each from ZOS

ZOS VALUE OF MY INGREDIENT INVENTORY OF 10G EACH IS:
241448g less than Price Tracker
27460.4 less than Shopkeeper
Equivalent to 10.1682% of Price Tracker Value
Equivalent to 49.8810% of Shopkeeper Value

hHBtAQ9.jpg?1Now that the PTS is up and a list of the ingredients is available, I doubt people will be buying them as they know they will be going soon. Therefore, both value and demand for these ingredients will be dropping fast, which doesn't help those trying to off load them.

I used the conversion list located in this thread.

Hey everyone! With the new provisioning changes coming in Update 6, there will be a lot of complicated changes to the ingredients. That is why I decided to make a conversion table showing which old ingredients get converted to which new ones, accompanied by some explanatory text for the more confusing conversions. Here it is.

Don't get me wrong, I'm happy to be getting gold for my ingredients, I just know that many players would have spent much more on say pepper than 10g each. Perhaps an average price in guilds over past 6 months is more accurate.

My inventory will have much more space now which I am happy about too.

While I am surprised at the change in the ingredient prices on PTS to 150g, I think you are confusing the NPC economy with the player economy, and those are not the same.

Most of the food ingredients are worth 0g on live when sold to a vendor, even if they sell to other players at 100g each, so asking ZOS to refund us what we would get from selling to other players is not feasible.

I think the best plan would be to use up all your Pepper/Red Wheat and any of the ingredients that will go "old" and are used to make blue and purple food and then just sell the food once the conversion to 1.6 is done.

Of course, I would like ZOS to explain why ingredients from grocers are suddenly 15x the amount of the "old" ingredients when it was said we would be able to do a 1/1 conversion.

you are aware that ZoS likes to do this thing called LIE every chance they get right?

I would very much recommend just making everything up. All my whatsit purple brittle turned to v10 food and my pepper stacks turned to crap (for example). So make it all. Sell the food after. Imo.

I realise that the player worth and NPC vendor worth are two different things. The player price of ingredients is mostly determined by their rarity. Therefore, the reason the player price for Pepper is so high is because ZOS implemented a system that meant Pepper is hard to come by. Getting 10g from an NPC vendor is a vast improvement on 0g(of course)but still no where near what a player would have paid for the ingredient in the game economy.

I will definitely be doing this and trying to sell fast:)

Even though I plan to be a part of the justice system, I don't think it's fair that provisioning ingredients will cost so much. There were hardly any non-steal able ingredients in towns (perhaps there will be more in dungeons etc) and raising prices to 150g each will force people into the Justice System.

I ran through a dungeon on the PTS that was inhabited by bandits (the tower just outside Daggerfall). No problems whatsoever getting tons of ingredients from the crates/barrels. It's really not going to be an issue.

That will make many people happy. I still plan on stealing everything, but it's nice to know that players who don't want to steal won't have to buy ingredients at 150g each. :#

not everyone read or care about pts patch notes. its still possible to sell. then again, if lots of people start selling for a low price you wount get the normal price for the items.

if your afraid you will lose a lot of money, then you only option is to try to sell now before 1.6 goes live.

I'm turning what I can into food, but I'll still have some leftover ingredients for purple recipes because I don't have enough Pepper to use them all (let alone Oats or Tomatoes).

I'm not sure what the prices will be immediately after 1.6 release, as everyone seems to be maing tons of purple foods right now, but even if I sell them over a longer period of time, it's better than letting them go stale...
