Last i heard was there was a 1200 point cap. 400 for each of the 3 types. because they want choices to matter, otherwise if you can cap everything...everyone is the exact same in the end....

Unless this system was recently changed not to have a cap....

That's the first I hear of that but it would be a great addition to the system. I hope it happens.

This was in every article and Champion system preview a few months ago when it was announced to be coming.

I am also a completionist. But when I complete the game I stop playing. So I'd rather have endless progression.

If not I can just buy single player games. Just like reading a book read it once close it and maybe read it again a few years later or not.

Thoughts? I think they should cut the CP xp gain in half.
Just as with the PA system in Rift, which the CP system is clearly modeled on to some extent at least, there is no need to cap anything here, it's supposed to be an on-going character progression mechanism .. if it were easy to cap then it has no long-term purpose.

The cap isn't far enough away. There are some people that play this game with 3-4 VR14 characters. How can they not anticipate people are just going to try and grind it out?

Wow then I must have completely missed it.

I didn't see anything about that in the patch notes and even saw a thread suggesting a similar concept to "fix" the system.

Do we know if this is still a thing or did it change when they divided it by 4?

@frosth.darkomenb16_ESO‌ - I believe in the episode of ESO Live. the one before the most recent, they talked about it. I remember Sage saying something like there's no limit to maxing out constellations.

Yes that one I saw. I must have missed the others because there was an entire month where I couldn't spend time on gaming at all and droped out of the loop.

It's too bad they droped the concept. Having a choice would make this system a big deal more interesting.

A system that would be cool would be to mimmick the ability slot concept.
You have only 2 passives of each rank active at a time, but you can unlock as many as you want.
Just like the abilities and skill points, earning more CP would just allow you to change your build according to the situation, but won't give you more power.

Normally, you add bits of progression every so often.

This is what you do if you don't plan to add any significant content.

It sure seems like the end game plan is to just have us grind CPs.

Cyrodil hasn't been touched since launch, and that's pretty much the only reason I bought the game in the first place.

I like the CP system. It's meant to be challenging and you will definitely need to be selective about where you assign your CPs.

    Same here.
Along the fact it was supposed to remain a subscription based MMO without a cash shop, AvA was one of the main selling points of the game pre launch for us mmo players.
Too bad they delivered neither when obviously both would have kept the game interesting for the very long term.
Just look at how long DAOC lasted thanks to RvR.
