Is Radiant Destruction OP?

jra5658_ESO
I love the ability, and maybe it might just feel OP to me because my Templar hasn't had an execute before... but it definitely feels strong. I'm not familiar enough with the meta to know for sure, so I figured I ask here.

Thoughts?

It's a channeled ability, and thus easily interrupted, it should be strong.

Half the time I die in pts it is from this move hitting me for 11k-15k. In most cases I was gonna die anyways ( 1v4 caught with low hp etc.)

It is a strong skill, but not OP, since when used against other players, it can be interrupted.

And let's also consider this (I'm going to compare Templars to Dragonknights, yes): Templars have a less efficiënt self heal than Dragonknights, still deal less damage and even got their support abilities nerfed, so please hands off Radiant Destruction!

It is strong. Very strong under the right circumstances

But unlike Mages Fury or Impale it is also a giant glowing beam that says "Interrupt me now, I am completely open!"

If Radiant Destruction is OP, then Dragonknights are Game Masters and if RD gets touched in a nerf type of way I am violently demanding with Molotovs and shotguns for DKs and NBs to be nerfed god damn it.
Bobbity Boop, this game might become poop, but I'll still play because I'm just a pile of goop!

to be honest i even feel its underperforming... my dps using it in finisher range is dropping compared to keep light weaving crushing shocks...

To add to what others are saying, RD is interruptable and it isn't giving absurdly high damage in the context of new the meta (or bug).

Armor and spell resistance work differently now, caps are gone on stats, and the crit chance/crit resist numbers have been altered as well. Abilities and Championship passives that affect spell and physical damage (attacking with and defending against) are also in the mix.

Some examples of what things are hitting for now in PvP:

    Crystal Fragments - 8900
    Radiant Oppression - 13K
    Assassin's Will -15K
Destruction Staff Heavy Attack - up to 30K

I have seen some players lose 60% of their health to my Radiant Oppression, but others, through some combination of boosting their Max Health, boosting their armor (heavy actually means something now), and using damage shields took little or no damage even though my Max Magicka bar was fully charged and I was crit boosting with Radiant Magelight.

For those not familiar with Radiant Destruction and how it generates the damage numbers, I wrote the following yesterday:
The damage output varies depending depending on a few things:

    1. Max magicka and percentage of Max Magicka. As a magicka-based ability it makes sense that it scales off of this resource, but, it also scales off of how much you have left if you use the Radiant Oppression morph. If you are at 100% magicka, the base damage is scaled up 40%.

    2. Spell crit chance and crit damage. Again this seems obvious, but if you are using Radiant Magelight you will be at 95% of potential Max Magicka, so it is a trade-off of potential damage for potential crit.

    3. The target's health. The base damage + Max Magicka modifier can be amplified up to 300% versus low health targets.

So, if your character is wounded, and someone has a decent crit chance/crit damage multiplier with a full magicka bar and a large magicka pool, and they are using the Radiant Oppression morph, they can deal a lot of damage.

i would also hate it if this ability gets nerfed, it's a channel already with a 1 sec delay when you cast it, it can easily be countered so the reward should be good for the risk you take. and the damage is no better then other finishing moves so leave it like it is imo
