devils advocate.... they didn't have to F2P the computer version just because the console version was best set for F2P. it would have satisfied both markets to maintain p2p on pc and f2p on consoles, one of which was already supporting the game.

i literally have no trust in zos, so i won't lose sleep over canceling (this apathy is a first for me). the article was a pretty good one. ill probably be canceling post1.6 if it comes before march 17. there really isn't a whole lot of point to subscribe for the reasons in that article. i won't feel bad about "sticking it to the man" though that isn't my intent. after all, they made their bed now they can sleep in it.

Yeah I sorta freaked when they said no new content expansions for 6 months. But I let it slide as they were doing console releases and I think its wise they spend much of that time making sure PC and consoles run smoothly.

I don't mind supporting this game with a subscription and am happy they went a different route for new people to play this game. Because of the B2P model I feel less infuriated over research times since I consider ones taking a month to be outright theft of the subscription fee. Now I feel I don't have to pay to still let the research go I am happy.

If subbing and money does become an issue for ZoS they can always change it and release new content. Nothing is set in stone as they said they had no intentions of removing the subscription model.

I see no reason to after I found out about the change to begin with. I was rather fine letting my sub continue even without playing it for a few months at a time, but I hate having cash shops in games. I want not to think about buying various junk digital items or how big an impact they'll have when I'm playing a game, I just want the game as it is.

The option to acquire or participate in everything the game is should be available, whether sub system or standalone, even if it's something I might not like to join in as often, like raids/trials, but it's still available to me. The shop brings new things to the game, but they're paywalled off. I can conquer the 7 mountains of whatever, but still need to pay cash to ride some special mount.

One other thing I find ugly about these systems is the 'points' scheme, in this case, 'crowns'. Twofold, as they're sold in specific chunks rather than actual item value, and having it named something other than money/cash blurs the direct connection people have between the game and their wallet. "Oh, the game gave me some amount of crowns to start with, I only need x more if I want this thing I like. I'll buy this chunk of [700] for 4.99. And look, I get a bonus 10% of crowns!" (some number that distances itself from the actual likeness of the price; also, bonuses and 'featured' deals on occasion).

In short, blank this. End of an era. Not specifically for this game, but for sub based MMOs. Go die MMOs, because you're dead to me already.

I will add game time when the next DLC comes out. Test the DLC. If I like it I'll buy it. I will not resub.

Not yet but you can contribute and get in the alpha that is going on. Server is up 24/7 for the most part. It's touted as Ultima zonline and SWG. Housing included in the game. Zos said housing is couple years yet before being considered.

This may be my next game, even in alpha.

I play The Repopulation. It's not the cheapest early access game to back but it does have a hell of a lot of content.

It is hard even thinking about why you would want to resub. You have already saved the day. Molag Bal has been defeated. You can rest on your laurels and go have a drink in the tavern with your mates. No need to grind way at pointless content.

ZoS made a terrible design error when they created an end game. At approximately VR1 you had saved the day. After that it is all pointless The reason so many left was not the VR system but the realisation that Cadwell's Silver and Gold were totally pointless once you were the Hero of Tamriel.
Sure you should have been able to do Silver and Gold if you wished but there should have been a story line "to be continued' in future content. The Champion system will not solve the vacuum of no relevant story line content.

After I read the article, I cant stop wondering, do they seriously believe that 1.6 gives us so much more game time, that we wont need another update untill september? - I really dont hope so, I've been playing the PTS for the last two days and yeah it takes time to earn Champion Points, so far i earned 2 points one green and one orange and wow it didnt make any serious change to my game. I've been stealing alot killing a few civilians and found some nice new buisness partners below the surface of any city.

I also played alot of PVP and I am crazy about the new skills we got in there, then I completed some dungeons, cleared some Dolmens, just to see that I aint that big a badass that I started thinking when i saw my weaponpower suddenly where around 1800 when i normally have one around 221 - In PVP i got oneshottet a few times by players with 2H swords, they hit so f****** hard that i never saw it comming, you might have seen some reports where people can hit with +48k of dmg.

But back to main subject, if this guys prediction are correct, then we wont have update 1.7 untill september, wich means the CP system will demand 200.000 XP pr. point for 6 month, they promised us that the points needed would be lower in the final phase, but if the final phase dont come for 6 month, then i wonder what the hell am I supposed to do with a V14 character for 6 month ?

Well yeah i can become a criminel but thats not gonna keep me playing for 6 month, that might be worth 3 days of playtime, then I need something else to do, oh yeah do AA, Hel Ra, Sanctum, Arena again thats 1 day more now we are up to 4 days of playtime and i need to fill out 180 days untill I see something new... Oh yeah I forgot I can now buy myself a Guar and some new Horses that I need to play with, lets count that another day, 175 days to go... What to do ? There is only PVP left and well I can stay in there for a long time, but hell 175 days without anything new happining, is surely to long.

Yes it is true that 1.6 is a huge update (Seen by the programmers side) seen from the players side, most of the update is still fixes and minor improvement, yeah you have given us 3rd phase of champion points, wich also means that all my characters that are beyond V1, is outdated each of them need 1 CP pr. 200.000 XP since they passed V1, wich they will never get. What you actually want is for us to start over because then there is the time we need to wait for the next update.

Well I am just a frustrated player that have been subbing since the begining, I am still subbing and will continue to do so as long as you provide me with more things I can do in the game, I need a new area with some new trials, I need some dueling possibities in PVP, I need alot more, but this is just to tell you YES I am addicted to games and hooked on ESO, so if ESO cant give me the fix I need, I will be forced to find it somewhere else, wich aint that easy

My reason to stay subbed?

I think I'm still going to get my money's worth.

I'm waiting on a couple of things before I decide whether or not to stay subbed after the conversion.
1. Is there anything in the crown store (other than the dog of course) that will make me want to have lots of crowns to spend every month?
2 . Is the game still going to be fun with the 1.6 changes and the new population that comes with it? Enough fun that I'll play a lot more?

The XP and gold boost really just isn't that appealing to me. I'm a casual player and I already have an obscene amount of gold. Sure I can easily afford $15/month but really why do it if it's free?

By the beginning of April, I will have paid one full year for access to the game (which will no longer be necessary) and for the promise of regular content updates. They've outright said now there will be no new content between 1.6 and console release. Subbing for an undetermined amount of time solely for the hope of future DLC packs that aren't out yet but will someday be released does not sound like a very smart use of my money.

Pay to show love and support for the game? That's silly. This is a business not your ailing family member. Pay if you think the product is worthy of the cost. I will decide for myself once I see the finished product.

at the moment i don't see any reason to continue to give them money for sub or cash store.
