•Once the system is live, the Imperial Edition Upgrade bundle and the Explorer’s Pack that are currently available on the web will be moved to the Crown Store for purchase.

Umm, wasn't the Explorer's Pack a pre-order bonus that was not to be available again? I don't see where it's currently available on the web.

It's available on eBay. But it would be really awful.

As someone who pre-ordered and has the explorer pack, I never thought that restricting what race can be in which alliance for everyone who didn't pre-order was a good idea.

I know that they said that the explorer pack was a one-time only bonus that you could only get by pre-ordering, and I can understand why some people who pre-ordered would be upset by it now turning up in the crown store. I'm not one of those people though. I was always going to pre-order anyway, and I don't care if anyone else can buy the explorer pack at any time. It doesn't affect me.

If they could survive by pleasing all the people that pre-ordered then they wouldn't have gone B2P.

Its quite simple more people leaving then joining means the community base will shrink. So they need to give new players access to this.

It may sound crazy but its not all about any one person.

I'm not real upset by this, maybe a little, I'm just pointing out that they say it's currently available for purchase, but it's not. Ebay doesn't count.

Apologies for the confusion on this, everyone. This was simply a miscommunication and something that was intended to be removed, but an old version of this note inadvertently got published. The gist of this note was that items currently on the web store will be moved to the Crown Store (such as the Imperial Upgrade). Since the Explorer’s Pack was only available as a pre-order bonus and was not sold on our website, it will not be moving to the Crown Store. We’re going to remove this note from the patch notes to avoid any further misunderstandings.

Well that clears that up. I still don't think non-pre-orders should be restricted in what race they play in each alliance, though. I mean, it doesn't affect me, but I feel it's unfair to newer players and not supported by the lore in any case, as members of every race live in every alliance anyway, and the alliance that you pick is just the one that you happen to land in after your escape from Coldharbour, so there's no logical reason why it has to be the alliance where the majority of your race lives.

Yeah, but quite a few people pre-ordered based on this bonus. Fair or not they said it would not be offered again.

Thanks for clearing that up @ZOS_GinaBruno.

    Agreed.

Clearly the point is moot now that it's been accepted as an error and won't happen, but it always amuses me when some people scream when this kind of thing happens, some people I guess really are desperate to be special snowflakes.

Guys, you can still buy the Explorers Pack.
No need to be upset, even if they would have put them into the Crown Store.

It's still a pre-order bonus, that's the point. Even though you can still buy them, they are pre-order keys. That well will eventually dry up.

Should still place them in the store and sell them to players so you can make profit. As other have already posted plenty of retailers sell them for like $1, and I am pretty sure most people would pay an extra £5 ($8?) worth of coins to unlock that.

id bet, by the time they did dry up, this game is half dead.
it was a silly bonus, and everyone that wants it, can still have it or has it.

Of course, if you sell race unlocks one by one you will get much more money, and you can still claim explorer pack wasn't for resale.

My only concern is how it will potentially further impact PvP balance to have masses of new players coming to the game being pigeon-holed to certain alliances.

Not sure if Daggerfall races have the mass popularity of things like Khajiit, Elfs, Dark Elfs or Nords.

Surely that is still unfair to people who came to the game late, well after launch and who would still like to play a race outside of its normal faction.

I have no problem with truly unique non-gameplay rewards being available only to those who pre-ordered, cosmetic items, titles, pets or even a mount appearance etc

But something as fundamental to the game as race/faction combinations should IMO be something that everyone has access to equally, or no one has.
