Simply because you or others think their opinions are negative, doesn't make them meaningless. Nor are so many people agreeing with them simply because of herd mentality, but more likely because they simply... agree with them.

If the loudest voices in the room are negative, it's usually got less to do with, "well it's the internet," and more to do with the fact those people are disappointed and feel like expressing that. Dismissing them as though they're all just naive and swept up in a mob mentality is a bit condescending.

There are a lot of people who are unhappy with the announcement and they are flooding the forum with threads along the lines of "Is this the end for ESO?", "Will you carry on playing?", "That's it ZOS I'm gone" etc.

We had those since day one, the buy to play announcement hasn't changed anything.

During the first few weeks we had "this game is dying" ... "free to play in 6 months" etc etc.

Those predictions weren't too far off, it's just going b2p instead.

Very true, I was just saying that what the OP highlighted isn't new.

Maybe ZOS shouldn't have lied to their customers for 6 to 18 months, then maybe the 'herd' wouldn't be so pissed off.

I don't know whats going on , but I just bought the game and am waiting for it to ship. I am here reading the forums just to see whats going on. Although some may not like the removal of the sub fee, I could never afford a continuous sub fee, however a one time pay I could.

Also, what I think they are hoping for is the sales from PS4 and XB1 to take the place of the sub fee. They are also hoping update 6 can bring back some of the people they lost due to reasons other than the sub fee.

I feel like some of us have this apparently rare and unique gift to be able to discern the breadcrumbs of legitimate facts from rage, frustration, elitism, fanaticism, ignorance, paranoia, etc.

Just because I don't agree w/ the tone of a discussion doesn't mean there aren't valid concerns being discussed.

I generally learn far more from the so-called "rage threads" than the handful of "hey ZOS, great work, keep it up!" threads floating around.

    Just sayin'.

A lot of folk ignore those.

I do see why people make them but, just like extreme rage threads, they solve nothing.

There are issues that need to be brought up but raging and over praising doesn't help anyone.

Exactly Ive had a few threads buried over this last week due to people needing to start a thread on a topic that already has multiple already in use.

With all this nonsense its hard to know if anyone from ZOS saw it. Trying to get the useless Junk Tab in your Inventory changed to a Stolen Tab for all the crap we'll be laundering with the Justice System.

I get that its only a week but Ive had it up to here with the rage threads. Time to get over it. Or be more constructive with the discussions about it. ZOS needs to come in and consolidate them at the very least and warn anyone else that decides they need to spam those threads.

The thing those people fail to realise with their rage is not only do other players not read their threads ... developers tend to ignore them too.

As you said, constructive criticism goes a hell of a long way. Rage ... not so much.

Perhaps not, but there is no criteria for eloquence in order to post on these forums.

Players who may not know how to best express their frustrations still have valid criticisms of the game's systems, etc.

I highly doubt that ZOS ignores threads that are espousing concerns solely because they dislike a player's attitude when bringing them up.

The problem is, when it devolves into rage it loses all coherency.

    It goes from lets say

"This quest is bugged for me, I can't progress due to a certain NPC not spawning"

    to

"This game sux and u devs should get new jobs at McDonalds".

Whether they have a legitimate concern or not, if they can't express it right they aren't going to get their point across. It will be ignored because no one knows what the problem is.

If people can't make their point without resorting to anger and insults then not only does it make them look bad it also stops people from helping them because they haven't told us what the issue is.
