Easy to introduce, sure, but difficult to remove once it's there. VR ranks are most likely here to stay.
I guess so. If they wanted they could make a vr20 food in another 5 minutes and slap it on the 1.6 update. Stuff like this is easy to do but big game dev studios have the laziest possible people in the industry. LOL! Now THAT'S just ridiculous.
Not quite. From a coding perspective it takes literally 5 minutes to create a new food type as a copy paste of an old one and scaled up to a new level. They did it just because they can and it is easy to do.
Ok. So you are saying that they could have easily made V10 buff food since last April when the game launched... and only now decided to do it right before they remove Veteran ranks?
Hopefully ZoS realizes how IDIOTIC it will be to launch console with VRs still part of the game. VR is why all the people quit this game. Leaving it in for consoles? Worst decision they will ever make.

I get a disturbing feeling they will introduce cash shop items to bypass the VR grind rather than remove the VR ranks. Expect "Cadwell's Silver Medal" and "Cadwell's Gold Medal", which for a reasonable cost of $49 each will save you from having to quest through the VR PvE zones and instead zap you instantly from VR1 to VR14. Like the Craglorn grinding, only now it will cost you money.

I'm one of those players who was under the impression VR was still going away in 1.6. If they don't I'll be very disappointed. I thought that the whole point of the CS was to REMOVE the VR system... So now you are saying they are going to be merged?
On another note, a lot of people are also saying there will be no major releases until June or later... Is this confirmed? I'm just floored a corporation like Zenimax would basically tell their entire PC sub base that they don't need to pay another dime in sub fees (after march with the release of Unlimited) until the next DLC is released 6 months or more from now.
Surly Zenimax has a couple $29.99 x-pacs up their sleeves to help keep their profit margins warm no?

They are introducing V10 Buff food in 1.6. That is a clear indication that VR's are not going anywhere. Last we heard, 1.6 was phase 3 of a 4 phase system. The final phase was going to be the removal of veteran Ranks. Now they have said that there will be little if any development between 1.6 and console release. That is also indication that consoles are going to release w/o the final phase of the Champion System.
Everyone is so excited about 1.6 and so angry about the B2P conversion that this is getting forgotten about. This is a big deal. The Veteran Ranks were the entire reason they decided to rework the system to begin with. Once the dust settles and it becomes clear that veteran ranks are here to stay, there is going to be another Revolt. That is the last thing ESO can handle right now.
Once again this is an opportunity for ZoS to respond and assure us that they did not change their minds. Another opportunity for them to tell is everything is still going according to plan.
But once again we are met with silence on the issue.

You can put everyone at level 50, convert every single crafting material, gear, finished product etc. over level 50 to level 50, and re-spread the fewer crafting resource types over the total level pool(50).

OK, but what about Cadwell's silver and gold, Craghorn, Cyrodiil, and etc. Are they all going to be converted to level 50 too? So all these zones are going the have the save difficulty level?
What about the large variety of VR gear that everyone is wearing? How do you convert these to level 50 without p*issing everyone off? Some VR 14 are wearing VR 14 legendary gear while some VR 14 are wearing purple gear, so let's just downgrade them to 50!
What about foods and potions? Downgraded them to level 50, after many players spent hours of their time and maybe lots of gold creating these?
Downgrading everything to level 50 is easy, doing it in a fair way is not going to been easy!
They won't because they have changed their minds. It would be crazy to rip out VR levels at the business level because the cost is so high.
They will look at other ways to solve the root cause of why people hate VR, which is the time it takes to reach the end mark and get to competitive PVP and PVE.

yea they have already said they wont remove it for 6+ months. this is the perfect opportunity for them to introduce 20%, 50%, 100%, 200% xp boosts into the cash shop so you can skip this incredibly long grind for only $20. theyve already confirmed this will be the case. this way they spend far less time for far more money. yea they go back on their word but the console community havent heard their lies yet.

Nothing like that has been confirmed. And I hope nothing like that happens. But sadly, nothing would surprise me anymore.
