RiohtGaming :Has there been any improvements to the console UI that has adopted popular add-ons features? I.e. sorting/organizing features, permantly marking junk items, DPS meters (optional of course) or other quality of life features?
Additionally, and probably a long shot, but will there be add-on support for consoles?
zos_konk :There will absolutely be numerous useful updates to the console UI, and some of the updates are based on popular PC add-ons. For example, a lot of the functionality in the "Loot Drops" mod is a part of the console UI by default. There are others add-ons we have drawn inspiration from as well, but I'm calling this one out specifically because I really like it.
I for one, do not enjoy the use of the quick slot wheel for my potions. I think it's a fantastic idea for choosing your bait, or even equipping your pet, just not anything that is used in the heat of battle.
From the above comment, I can see ZOS is using suggestions made by the community towards what should be included in the UI. (I am NOT stating they will be changing quick slots for console, I have no idea, just letting you know they are open to using add-on ideas) This is a great step forward and I feel the quick slot needs some love.
Problem: With veteran dungeons, as a healer there is no way I can take the time to open up my quickslot, slide over to the potion I currently need, hope my mouse actually selects the right one, and take it by pressing Q AFTER I took the time to select the potion. If a boss decides to run on over, I can easily be one shot.

I feel that this add-on should not be necessary. I also feel this one is. I can play the game without a minimap, I can play the game without a toolbar telling me my level and research timers. I feel I can not complete higher level content using the quickslot.
Many of us were under the impression the quick slot wheel came to be because of the console release. We have now been informed the console release is not a port of the PC UI and will be different. I feel that the quick slot wheel is not a good implantation of a "quick" slot at all.
Do you use another add-on to ignore the quick slot wheel? Feel free to discuss the pro's and cons of how any add-on implements quick slots.
This is not meant to be an add-on discussion though. How would you like to see ZOS change the current quick slot setup? Do you think they should essentially copy what an add-on has done? Or do you have a completely new idea of how the quick slot could be implamented? Also, if you like the quick slot and feel it is fine, let us know why you feel this way!
I invite everyone that comments here, or even reads this post and agrees, to head in game now and leave some /feedback. This is the more direct way of letting ZOS know how we feel, but I feel some discussion on what would be best or what possible solutions could be made would be great.

[Edit] Please check out the spoiler to see why I don't think "there an add-on for that" is the correct answer.
As well I would like to mention this which pertains to everyone who comes here and (correctly) states "there's an addon for that". I understand add-ons are " additional" and we can not expect to have every add-on added. Research addons? Yes they are amazing and have saved me from deconstructing many pieces I have needed, but they give information that is already available to you (although in a much clunkier fashion). I do not expect such add on features to ever be added. The addons we use to replace the "quick" slot wheel do not convey information we already have available to us, they actually change the functionality of using potions. This is why I believe a change to the "quick" slot wheel should be added into the core game. We are changing the functionality of how to use something, not just allowing ourselves to easily find information we already have available to us. (As much as I want an in game mini map, it also falls under the "information" add on. The information a mini map gives you is available to you in game, just not as easily)
Suggestions: (found in replies to this post)
-Make each quick slot items have it's own key and be drank upon pressing.
-Give the add-on authors the ability to not only choose the potion (as is now) but also drink the potion.
-When using the regular quick slot key (Q), ensure that when the slot is emptied out, automatically start drinking from the next slot.
