the ability to repeat quests. . .lets talk

this is a slight problem in eso, and one of the thing that keeps people from playing with one another, there are so many quests in so many areas and once you complete it you may never repeat or help anyone in it ever again.

for obvious reasons this prevents grouping. someone needs help on a quest (friend, guildy, random person in the world) and you being the nice person you are volunteer without question to help. . .then it turns out its a quest you already did and there is nothing you can do to help. . .hmmm.

my proposal I think solves some issues with grouping so please hear me out, and if you have any other solutions let me know.

1) you cannot repeat your own quests, but you may join another persons version of the quest. everyone chooses their own individual outcome (as you do now, kill or save so and so or what have you.) but it does not actually change after the first time you did the quest (or it could auto select the answer you chose the first time) for example:

you complete the crafty larisa quest on stros mkai, you choose to give the antidote to the person and your game changes slightly based on your answer. but what this? a guildy is having trouble so you decide to help. you group, they share the quest, and you have it again, they decide to kill off the other captain, this is obviously different from your decision. but it does not matter, when the quest completes you are returned to your instance with the decision you made, and them to theirs. tada.

2) a proper lfm tool. with the above version of instanced questing you can have an actual lfm panel, where you choose the quest, a level range, and your own bit of fluff text, with a layout like:

1- (insert quest level range), (insert quest name), (insert fluff text)

2- level 5-7, southpoint beacon, lf1m healer and go.

3- level V10 - 14, aa, 2 more dps and healer and go.

etc.

etc.

as far as xp goes if you feel repeating a quest for xp is a problem (quest grinding) you could always have a repetition penalty if a quest is repeated to fast that decays over time, say 20% less per time that decays every 12 hours or something like that.

i realize its hard to talk about anything other then b2p at the moment, but could we try to keep this up so Zeni can try to fix their broken grouping system.

I do like the idea of a repeatable quest... but somethings should not be repeated for it ruins the immersion and makes it feel like Doc Brown got into his De Lorean and went back in time to peep on Marty's mom.

    As a very specific example

There is a spot during the beginning islands quest in EP where you have to help and eventually decide where to go, which eventually dictates the kind of reward you will get and who you will run into during a later quest. There is a strong immersion sequence here and throughout the flow of quests that might be broken if repeated.

Rather, I think there should be a substitute quest where if you had cleared out a boat full of pirates yet another player needs your help again and shares it with you, it would be called "Return of the Black Market Traders" or something like that, and the rewards would be something utilitarian, possibly a soul gem, or an achievement, like Kenarthi's Roost Guide or something like that. Or the reward could be to collect a scrap of cloth for that repeated quest and if you do enough repeatable quests, it can create a quilt or sash or cloak costume, fitting of a hero.

As for the group tool... yeah i switch off zone/yell chat. Maybe there should be a bounty board in every city closest to the quest available... Seems like a fitting adaptation of the writs board... but more justice system oriented. If we can post something on our own user boards, then it'll be like we affect the world...

"The Undaunted calls all who fear none to venture forth into the Fungal Grotto. LVL 12 Explorer, DPS, Sir-Drinks-Alot, The Argonian Sorcerer has stepped forth. Which one of you will answer his call?" - Or something not as cheesy.
