2) yes, 1.6 is going to be the last major update before console launch, for obvious reasons. We will continue to do interim updates as necessary. As Paul said in another thread on this AMA, we're now developing for 4 platforms at once, and it is inherently more complex. We're committed to having content hit all the platforms at roughly the same time, so it will necessarily slow things down a bit.
-> So, what does this means? 1.6 has no new playable content other then the quests of the incomplete Justice System. There are no new Dungeons, Trials, Adventure Zones; essentially 1.6 is a utilitarian patch with changes to previous content.
That wouldn't be a huge issue if we were to have a new patch in the next couple of months. ZoS said that Imperial City was pretty much completed and while it wouldn't be released with 1.6, that it would be coming soon. Am I the only one that doesn't consider end of June or even July as soon?
So, that is the question I have for ZoS. What are we supposed to do now in your game? New mounts are cool, but they are not so great if we have no where to go with them! And then to add salt to wound, comes @ZOS_MattFiror next slip of tongue.

When I first heard about the changes to Pay to Play, I wasn't all that surprised or worried. I actually think those changes will contribute to ESO's health by adding more players to the community. So for that, I commend you ZoS - At the end of the day I think this transition, coupled with the new progression (Champion System), is a good idea.
The problem, at least for me, arouse after reading some of the responses given during the Q&A on Tamriel Unlimited.
From ZOS_MattF:
1) We are not going to keep up our 2014 pace of updates in 2015 - and our future update pace will focus more on new adventures and game experiences than system changes. It's time to let the game breathe a little - we've done so many new features so quickly that we want to make sure everyone is on the same page with us. 1.6 alone has a complete rebalancing of most player abilities - we don't want to do that again, for example. Our #1 priority right now is getting Tamriel Unlimited launched on PC, and then focusing on a successful console launch. While we do those things, we have other teams already working on DLC and expect to see that start rolling out at some point after console launch settles down.
-> This was expected already and it is understandable. The problem is what @ZOS_MattFiror said next.

3) This remains to be determined - I've been pretty clear that PvP justice is pretty scary from a game balance perspective, and we need to be very careful how we implement it. If/when it makes it in to the game, it will not be as part of a paid DLC.
-> Really?!? After all we heard about the Justice System as the big update to PvP... You say it may never come?
So... If I understand correctly for the next couple of months we can expect... Nothing from ESO? No new PvE content, no new PvP content (shouldn't surprise me since ZoS hasn't released anything PvP related since the game first came out, and yet... It does surprise me)... What are we supposed to do for the next 6 months of this game Zenimax?
I know you are making the game buy to play, but I assume you actually want players to keep their subscription. Well, I am willing to, but I need to have a game to play! I mean, there are only so many times I can crush the mage, the warrior, etc, with my guildies! Now, I understand that you will all be very busy with the console release, but that can't justify completely abandoning the community of players you already have formed.
So... Here goes again, what are we supposed to for the next several months? We won't take that long to relearn our classes and there are only so many alts we can level.
On a side note, how is 1.6 the last large patch you will release until console is out? Are you really planning to re-release your game with the remains of the failed veteran system still in it? Really? You really want to annoy the console community by having them level to veteran rank 14 just to lose those levels?

I've never seen a PC to console release go smooth, and this one is handicapped already. 1.7? I'm saying Mid August before we see anything.
Wrothgar, next year around this time.
Cyrodiil fixes are supposed to be coming in 1.6.

We have to:
Download the PTS and test 1.6.
Continue grinding, questing and PvPing to provide ZoS with the information they need to balance activities with XP and CP generation.
Continue working on debugging the game.
Everything needs to be fixed in time for the console release, so stop complaining and get back to work!
Oh, and we need to carry on paying our subs so that ZoS doesn't have any cashflow problems before they can release the console game...
Cyrodiil fixes are supposed to be coming in 1.6.
I hope they show up. Even with those go You're still going to have brand new players Coming up against players that are maxed out on day one And they're not going to like that.
They will start demanding experience boosters So they can catch up.
When will discover the slow grind of the vet ranks And they're going to want better experience boosters

Correct me if I'm wrong but haven't they been saying they'd fix Cryrodiil for like six months now?

Where are they going to be going up against max level characters? It won't be in PVP, due to those max level Characters being in their own Cryadill campaign (a very empty campaign, till the masses catch up).
Also VET ranks won't make it to console.

Vet ranks Are not being removed until 1.7 The console release happens with 1.6 Since 1.7 Comes after 1.6 chronologically It is safe to assume That vet ranks Will indeed make it to consoles.

You might just want to reasses what happens when. They could very well remove VET ranks in an incremental patch before console release. I also would not expect 1.7 to ever happen. When the game relaunches they will quite likely change the oatch numbers.
You honestly think they will leave VET levels in just because they once said they would come out in 1.7? I think if they have taught us anything lately, it's to not take them at their word.
VET levels were an utter failure, why would they leave them in place when they launch to their target audience?
cancel sub and play something else till november
Grind champion points. Really starting to look like it was not meant to really eliminate VR ranks but rather just give us a constant progression model without the content that has come with the 2 new VR ranks every few months.

Who knows how altered the abilities will be, from what I heard every ability will be completely different. People are going to be spending countless hours theorycrafting finding the best DPS, tanks, healing builds for dungeons/trials/small scale pvp/large scale pvp.
We will have the same content but everything will be different.

If ZOS Went buy. to play To attract to do subscribers They may have shot themselves in the foot.
People who buy the game for console To play for the very first time Are going to see a world filled with vent level characters
This will make them burn through content as fast as they can to level
Then we'll get to the very slow grind that is the vet ranks. They will look for a place to grind And soon realize that there aren't any viable spots to be found. They will get discouraged and bored
And by the time zos Gets around to new DLC There is a good chance That many of their new subscribers Will have moved on Because they're tired of waiting.
I really don't see Zenimax releasing Tamriel Unlimited with the veteran system still in place. It would be just too stupid. I have to believe there will be an incremental patch as @Guppet suggested. It will have to be a huge patch though as it affects all professions, Cadwell Silver and Gold, several achievements, all of Cragnlorn, all the Trials, Veteran Dungeons, Undaunted...

1.6 is supposed to fix the combat system, add build diversity, balance classes, and add a continuous progression system to the game. I.e. 1.6 is supposed to fix most of the design flaws at the origin of the reasons why the game was not as successful as it could have been. 1.6 is clearly what has to be done to the game to make it attractive again, and I expected other initiatives in that direction (such as adding epic new gear to the game in PVE and in PVP, token based crafting, a season system, i.e. everything that rewards people for playing the game).
So if 1.6 fails, and since there will not be any other major updates to fix the core mechanics of the game, why should we stay subscribed?
Holycannoli wrote: »What does #1 mean for spellcrafting? I've been waiting for it since it was announced and it sounds like they aren't even bothering with it anymore.
Or how about necromancy? It hasn't been announced but it's something I was hoping they'd develop in the near future.
They are still working on Spellcrafting and plan to release it, but Shor knows when.
ZoS also said that Imperial City was nearly ready to be released. That it wouldn't come on 1.6 because 1.6 was already a large patch. They also said the PvP part of the justice system wouldn't come out with 1.6 because they needed to test the base of the system first, now we can't even sure the PvP justice will ever come.
Not very confident on Spell Crating.
