We are currently investigating connection issues some players are having on the European megaservers. We will update as new information becomes available.

Are Champion Points being tracked already?

If I delete my VR14 character now to reroll him, have the Champion Points progress already been tracked so that they become available when 1.6 drops? I read somewhere that ZOS was actively tracking progression for the transition.

Short answer is DKs likely won't be seeing a ton of changes before we go live; this class is still quite powerful (as it should be being a tank), even after some of the adjustments we've made to other classes and abilities.

I would very much advise AGAINST doing that. You can't be sure that it's not tracked of course but that would be quite a dangerous move.

Yeah, I mean you should have the 70CP coming, but I understood that they would be issued for characters who were VR14 at launch of 1.6. You'd seriously be temping fate if you are planning to continue to play.
Follow me if I advance, Kill me if I retreat, Avenge me if I die.

When this immediate evil power has been defeated, we shall not yet have won the long battle with the elemental barbarities. Another evil, it may be an invisible adversary, will attempt, again, and yet again, to destroy our frail civilization. Is it true, I wonder, that the only way to escape a war is to be in it?

If I die, you are forgiven, If I live, I will kill you.

Yeah I'm hoping for an official reply from ZOS; otherwise I guess I'll wait.

Yeah I wouldn't delete your VR14 Char before the patch comes out. And even then if you only had that char on your account make sure you have a 2nd so the champ points get put onto that char before you delete the vr14.

I believe that they have said that you won't get your "free" CP until you LOG IN on your veteran characters so that it can determine how many you are eligible for. So yeah, I wouldn't delete him until 1.6 comes out.

Oh actually, now that I remember things more clearly, it's 100% certain that deleting your character is the wrong move.

With update 6, you will receive the points upon loggin into your character, it's not automatic. That's only for the very first time you play after the update though.

For example, if you log into your VR14 with 1M+ XP, your account will be credited with the 70 points.

    If a player has a VR3, a VR5 and a VR13 (all with 0 extra XP):
    - logging into the VR3 will give 10 points
    - logging into the VR5 afterwards will give 20 more points (total: 30)
    - logging into the VR13 afterwards would give 60 points, but the system is capped at 70, so that will only be 40 points (total: 70)

If you delete your VR14, you won't be able to log in with it at all, and your points will be lost.

@ZOS_GinaBruno explained this further in the Champion Points clarification thread a while ago.

Basically you need that v14 on release date of the upgrade based on how their statement read, the progress will come into play when you log in that char and get the points added to the account. Has you will cap out if you go over a certian amount of points, basically they aren't going to give everyone 70 points for many v14 chars, so the progress will be tracked based on the chars that log in then cap out.

Hopefully that made sense, you basically need that char for release date of the update so you get that progressed tracked and the points added.

I would say the experience that will effect the CP is being tracked but as pointed out the actual conversion won't occur until 1.6 hits live. I am not sure why you are deleting a VR14. If you are interested in trying different builds and classes there is always the PST where you can get a template character.

If the name is your issue I think it is possible to get a name change. If they don't let you then just use an accented letter.

Since they said that you will get credited the CPs when you log in with the character... I think that answers your question. No character, no login, no CPs.
