Taken from Reddit AMA:

Q:Will update 1.6 be the last content update before console launch? If not, how do you plan to incorporate patch 1.7 into Tamriel Unlimited without having "day 1 DLC" on consoles and the PR hit that will ensue because of it.

A:Yes, 1.6 is going to be the last major update before console launch, for obvious reasons. We will continue to do interim updates as necessary. As Paul said in another thread on this AMA, we're now developing for 4 platforms at once, and it is inherently more complex. We're committed to having content hit all the platforms at roughly the same time, so it will necessarily slow things down a bit.

Q:Can you please talk about your planned pace of content/updates post 1.6? It will be more than a full quarter between 1.5 and 1.6 once 1.6 makes it to the live servers.

A: We are not going to keep up our 2014 pace of updates in 2015 - and our future update pace will focus more on new adventures and game experiences than system changes. It's time to let the game breathe a little - we've done so many new features so quickly that we want to make sure everyone is on the same page with us. 1.6 alone has a complete rebalancing of most player abilities - we don't want to do that again, for example. Our #1 priority right now is getting Tamriel Unlimited launched on PC, and then focusing on a successful console launch. While we do those things, we have other teams already working on DLC and expect to see that start rolling out at some point after console launch settles down.

Last new content was Craglorn and to an extent Undanted pledges.

Everything else was merley changing what we allready have.

Tell me again how going B2P is going to enhance player experience.

Its 5 months untill console release. And then some time before console players can "chew" through vanilly content t and ask for more.

I really like ESO. I really did. But you managed to kill it. Congratulations.

Well you have to consider how to define content. I can't see them not fleshing out the justice system further to include the projected PvP component. So that will change how you can play the game I would consider that new content.
I do agree that is a vague statement but am hoping it will be a month or two after console release so maybe August time frame.

Thats still 8 months from now.

    Allmost life span of ESO.

That would mean 1 map and dailys in year and a half of game life.

Normaly you would have an expansion in that time span. And a few content patches as well.

They are definitely pushing the average time span that people look for more content. Still better then the end of 2015. I do seem them pushing out fixes and adjustments. Going to stick around to watch?

Short answer is DKs likely won't be seeing a ton of changes before we go live; this class is still quite powerful (as it should be being a tank), even after some of the adjustments we've made to other classes and abilities.

I'm done with this scam of a game and the *** that ZOS has fed us this entire time.

Dark Brotherhood and Thieve's guild have been promised from the START and now they will be DLC.

    No new content.

Development resources going towards making more money, not making the game better for existing customers

Do you care to point out which facts here are not true? Because the statement about the content delay comes straight from the developers on the reddit discussion. 1.6 is the last update until the console release, currently scheduled for June. The development pace will remain slower even then. Again, the devs own words.

It's easier to toss around broad and generalized claims like this, but much hard to back it up. I'll tell you what, pick out these so-called false statements and general misstatements of reality, link to the truth (from a developer or or Mod), and we won't all think you're just another internet troll fanboy.

'ZO$' Clever, I like it :) Guess I'll have to adopt it too. Seems very apropo with new developments. >:)

In complete agreement also regarding Imperial City, Spellcrafting, Thieves guild, Dark Brotherood. If they had not been promised, I might have unsubbed already. The delayed release really stinks.

They don't really care, they get 100 console peasants that play 2 hours a week to replace you and who are stupid enough to purchase XP Boosters & similar P2W crap that enables them to catch up to you.

Once they're max. level, they'll happily log in those 2 hours a week, jump into Cyrodiil with their cash boosters and rainbow farting unicorns and log off.

These people don't care about content, a DLC or two every 6 months is more than enough for them.

This is the demographic ZO$ is clearly aiming towards, the demographic that wanted "Skyrim Online".

From the very beginning, they aimed towards this demographic, instead of more dedicated players. They made this group of players DLCs & Cash Shops with our money, while neglecting the game in its current state.

Well, now they've got it & players like me will have to search for a new place to call home.

This is pretty much how I feel, honestly. Feels like a huge bait and switch to me. I realize that I was naive to place trust in a company. I know that. But I did, I had faith that the things promised would be delivered, and not in the form of DLC that those subbed just "rent."

That particular decision was terrible, IMO, and a few of the ones already made with the cash shop as well. I had fun playing the content of the game, but the vast majority of those I enjoyed playing with most were only continuing to play because they were waiting on CS, JS, Wrothgar, Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood questlines, etc. This was the final straw for them, and for me as well.

I hadn't done everything in the game, but could find little to no motivation to finish up what I had left without the people I've been playing this game with since well before launch. And I don't blame them for leaving, not one bit.

I won't call anyone a fanboy or hurl insults toward anyone staying. That's a decision everyone makes for themselves. Wish those staying would extend the same courtesy to those leaving, rather than assuming we're all throwing fits or tantrums or all this other nonsense, while ignoring our completely valid reasons and concerns.

Yeah, this is a bit crazy IMO.

ZoS, you guys really need to throw us a bone here. Sure, I love stuff like being able to steal (even though I really don't care about the justice system personally, I know it's a good addition) and I've liked non-content updates in the past like guild tabards and dye. BUT, we need something.

I realize there are still a lot of players leveling, but there are a lot of us also at end game looking for something to do besided re-run the same dungeons over and over again. The last dungeon we got was what... November City of Ash? And now it seems we won't get anything like that until after June?

November 2014 - June 2015 (if not later probably) with no actual content (dungeon, zone, etc.) added to the game is not good.

I get that you want to save zones you've had in the bank for months now until you can sell it as DLC - you have a business to run. But surely there must be something in there to toss our way in the coming months while we pay to beta test your console release besides just rolling out more parts of the champion and justice systems for us to test.

It sure did get worse though. A lot worse.

But you're right, the content up until now wasn't exactly satisfactory either.

I wonder if them using our subscriptions to create Cash Shop content & DLCs had anything to do with it.

So ... game goes console live in June.

There will be DLC announcement no earlier then end of July.
You dont want your customers thinking of whats coming while they still play what you allready have.

So its end of July and new awsome DLC comes with amazing cash shop stuff.
You dont put it on PTS imediately. You wait a month for maximum of people to pay subscription and get those 1500 Crowns.

    Its August now, coming September.
New content is on PTS. At least 3-4 weeks to get it all tested.
Also for pepople to pay for more Crowns because of awsome stuff in cash shop.

October - new stuff comes !
    Everyone rejoices.

There is simply no logic to announce new conent patch right after console launch. Its simply bad buisness.

Face it - right now its all about consoles. PC players are second rate customers at the moment.

Compare Ff14 and Eso and it's embarrassing for Zos. Square *** up that game in the beginning too but were big enough to realize they needed to put the game first and profit will come. It's a credit to them because Ff14 is a true success story in the sub mmo. Eso is just the latest to join the sub mmo fail group.

Well I respect people liking to play on console.

    Its viable as anything else.

But ZOS simply spiting in PC players face stating we will sit and wait untill consoles are good and ready before we get new things to play ? Thats just too much.

This is a theme park MMO.

That is going F2P with Freemium sub.

Im afraid this decision will prove to be very, very wrong.
