Hello Guys.

I read about all the changes you want to do to the game the next few months. I am a bit disappointed by your choice to go Free to play. Although it might be also a big chance for the game. For example, one of my favourite other games Star Trek Online trived on the F2P system.

Why I am asking:

I used to subscribe through Game Time Cards. It was good because to top up my Paypal every month is a bit of hassle. So I was reading that DLCs are what brings expansions to the game. And I read that you have to buy Crowns to get the DLCs. How do I obtain crowns from Switzerland without worrying about my Paypal account every month? The Gamecards were really a great thing and I was subscribed to the game since April.

Also is a DLC optional content or are you selling those also as retail versions? Is the DLC part obtainable somehow through similar means as Gamecards were? Do you update the game with content for all players or do you rely solely on the DLC/Crownstore venue?

Thanks for clarifying.

Blessings of the Three

    Hey there @Pendrillion,

Most of the questions surrounding game time cards and the rollover to ESO Plus from the subscription are answered in our FAQ, which can be found here. Currently, we don't have additional information about how crowns can be purchased, but as we get closer to the release of the crown store, we'll be sure to keep everyone updated!

Something I'd wish to have clarified. Is there a possibility to pay through Paypal? I don't own a credit card. And the other linked means seem not to be compatible with my Bank. Thats why I was glad for the time cards.

You can pay subs with PayPal now (and I have always have been able to) so I don't see why they'd remove that option when it goes F2P.

    Hey there @Pendrillion,

At the present moment, the only information we have released is that crowns can be purchased in the Elder Scrolls Online store, and crowns can be used to purchase DLC. When we have more info about payment options, we'll be sure to let everyone know!

How much will DLC cost? If it is released one per every 3 months, is it going to sell for the $45 that Unlimited members have paid in subs? Not sure how many console players would pay 45 every 3 months considering they apparently had such an issue with sub model in the first place. So IF dlc is available every 3 months for the expected $10-20 what is the benefit of paying the additional $25-$35? A few crowns?

Wouldn't every player be better off buying the number of crowns that they wanted and the DLC, considering subscribers are only 'renting' the DLC no matter how long they've been subbed? (the content itself becomes locked if they drop their sub a year from now for a month or two, during those two months they don't have access to a $20 DLC even though they've paid a year's worth of subscription?)

3 months seems like a very quick time table to release new content for a B2P game. Take GW for example, it after all has the exact same business model:
Three stand-alone episodes, one major expansion pack, and several "mini"-expansions were released in the series from April 2005 to April 2013

So how long do you realistically see quality rich content worth the price of DLC to be released? How do you balance keeping that DLC cheap while keeping subs, supporting development of cheap content?

    V14 - IMPERIAL NIGHTBLADE - DPS/TANK
    V13 - BRETON SORCERER - HEALS/DPS
    V2 - REDGUARD DRAGONKNIGHT - MELEE DPS
    V1 - BRETON TEMPLAR - TANK/DPS

to be continued... Nevermind, no longer "to be continued"

    Hey there @Kraven,

We certainly don't want you to feel ignored, but we have not yet released pricing information for the DLC or information about the release dates for anything teased in the special ESO Live show (Orsinium/Clockwork City/Mephala's Realm, etc.)

Once that information is available, we'll be sure to keep everyone posted!

Track record means platitudes like "we'll be sure to keep everyone posted!" no longer hold any value at all.
