My main concern about this change is community stability. that you will have a more transient and less committed community where more people play but for short periods of time.
So how does this affect a game that currently quite heavily relies on addons for UI functionality? I know that I really do need addons to help with crafting, research, telling me how much exp I need to level, telling me who isn't and is in the same guild when I see them in game, helping me manage my provisioning, helping me copy text from guild chat, syncing emotes when in a group etc etc.
Someone has to make those addons, update them with every game change and a thousand blessings on those that do. I love you all because I know it is something I could never do and I know what a difference it makes to the game.
We have already seen many makers of really good addons just get fed up with the game and leave - leaving their now unsupported addons broken.
If you have a game that relies so much on addons then you need a stable community of addon makers to go with it.
Do you think this issue will get worse as a result of the change in payment model?
