A concern not yet mentioned - addons

My main concern about this change is community stability. that you will have a more transient and less committed community where more people play but for short periods of time.

So how does this affect a game that currently quite heavily relies on addons for UI functionality? I know that I really do need addons to help with crafting, research, telling me how much exp I need to level, telling me who isn't and is in the same guild when I see them in game, helping me manage my provisioning, helping me copy text from guild chat, syncing emotes when in a group etc etc.

Someone has to make those addons, update them with every game change and a thousand blessings on those that do. I love you all because I know it is something I could never do and I know what a difference it makes to the game.

We have already seen many makers of really good addons just get fed up with the game and leave - leaving their now unsupported addons broken.

If you have a game that relies so much on addons then you need a stable community of addon makers to go with it.

Do you think this issue will get worse as a result of the change in payment model?

Unless they change their function names in the API nothing should break. Only big updates have a chance to break addons, but only a fraction of them. For example the core combat of the game will never change so it is doubtful that stuff like foundry tactical combat will break.

I used to play in first person and without any addons for he first 3 months, even doing dungeons...
But i can never go back, i even look at my combat cloud now while dps-ing down vet dungeon bosses..

That is the problem with this game, you have to be good to do the endgame stuff, and to be good you have to be knowing what is going on, and without addons you just don't know.

I might buy the game on xbox one and start a new char, but more for casual questing and the fishing achievements

Slager, Dunmer Magica DK, DC EU, pvp
Farmer, Dunmer Magica DK, AD EU, trials build

Every major patch looks like the end of the world but somehow i just cannot stop playing.

That's not true. I've been playing since launch, and I never used Addons until I wanted to be more effective with buying/selling. I'm only using AwesomeGuildStore, Advanced Filters, and MultiCraft.

It doesn't take away from the OPs concerns though, which I agree with.

The core combat of the game is changing with 1.6... every single ability was looked at, many got stamina morphs, had damage or cost updated. Add to that that brand new skills are being introduced...UI errors are going to abound.
