If every faction not on Thornblade went to the campaign that isn't their own buff server we could put a wipe on all 3 buff servers. Problem is people leave Thornblade and go to their own buff server because they don't want an uphill fight. They expect the other guy to do all the work. Those that leave thornblade for their own buff server do nothing but further entrench buff servers.

Sad thing is people honestly believe Thornblade is the only "Real PvP", which I find hysterical. It was fun in the beginning, but as time went on performance dropped and with the drop of server populations it was no longer fun. We started PvPing on Haderus out of curiosity and heard of a few other guilds were migrating to that server. The PvP on Haderus is fun, challenging being outnumbered so much, but fun.

Last night was clear that even with a few organized EP/DC guilds much could be accomplished. Both EP and DC were medium pop and AD were high and at one point pop locked. AD lost 2 captured scrolls, 11 keeps, 3 outposts and emperor. Got on this morning and they had most of all that back and a new Emperor. The problem right now is neither Pact or Covenant have enough stable population to counter the AD PvDoor Zerg during the early morning. We need more people on EP and DC, maybe one more guild on each side and I think Haderus would actually be well off. Now trying to get those guilds to come over is another story...

It depends what you consider "real PvP." You can have real PvP on other servers, I think when someone says real PvP they mean thornblade is where the highest competition is on the closest spectrum of an even playing field you can get. PvPing on buff servers can be a lot of fun especially when the hoarde of PvErs come to stop you, but to pat yourself on the back about killing them might be a little bit overkill. Killing PvP groups and killing PvE groups trying to keep their buffs are very different matters entirely. PvP on any servers is PvP, but I can say for sure that the level (difficulty) between them is quite large (having PvPed on both types many a time).

Iv played thornblade. Its all zerg blobbing. The players on thornblade are no more difficult than the dedicated PvP haderus players.(by that I mean excluding the ones who only come when their buffs get threatened) thornblade just has a higher population to do it with.

however this is not the topic of the thread, so moving on

I'll keep this brief as you said its not the topic, but a point you made is exactly why I said thornblade tends to be more competitive (and described that "real pvp" can happen anywhere). You exclude the buff server players who come for their buffs, but lets be honest, thats the majority of players who do zone in. Absolutely there are PvPers who go to these servers to take buff servers away, have less laggy fights, prefer smaller 1v1 or small group play, etc. But because the majority are these excluded players, its not that competitive as often. Sure we all have had great nights where we went to a buff campaign and got to wipe massive zergs of these players, but this is the more common result, at least in my experience. You take a buff keep, incoming massive 3 bar pop against 1 zerg of PvErs wanting their buffs back.

Edit: and just to be clear no where am I trying to take away or say that good fights don't happen on all servers. I just would like to point to alliance points at the end of these servers, only thornblade comes close to really ever being an actual "competition" as it is actually called... it could actually go to any alliance and has. Buff servers, I can predict from day 1. Definition of competition right there, however that doesn't mean individual fights or days on buff servers are not competitive/fun.

I dare say the quality of PvP is way better on anything other than Thorn. When you get two guesting guilds vs each other in lag free settings, wow, some of the best PvP to be had.

Maybe I am just holding on to hopes we get a new dawnbreaker out of it all, but fighting without masses of blobbers just running roughshod over everything is just more satisfying to me.

One of the main reasons I only come to thorn when TKO all-calls. Otherwise I am never ever there.

Which is more likely, that ZOS intends for buff servers to exist or that buff server entitlement is a player created belief?

It's a player created belief. Some MMO players be one ESO or runescape or WoW what ever think they deserve buffs, epic gear, or god powers just cause they think there a top tier player. There's a old saying. "What do all men with power want? More power." So players who think there powerful will always think there entitled to a buff sever cause they simplely want more power cause Kyne forbid that a ganker can't solo a dungeon that was purposely designed for 4 player groups and not 1 player.

Also here's a question. What dose every one think would happen if they got rid of say Thornblade or Chilldrend or Haderus.

Haderus is no longer a buff server. It switches hands far to often now a days to be a buff server.

what would happen if these were removed? the PvPers would go to either black water blade or thornblade,(thornblade is not going, too competitive) the PvErs that relied on these buffs would go whine on the forums, be laughed at, go back to PvE sulking, get over it, and move on with their lives.

That is an idealistic response mind you, the more realistic response.... not good:(

I'm from Haderus and sure it isn't as .... yellow as before but still has a hard yellow stain. And I don't mind realist responces cause maybe of some of the gankers started to think more realistic maybe they wouldn't be saying " there entitled to buff severs". Cause let's be real what gives them the right to have a buff sever? What makes them so great so much better than every one else that the are entitled to a buff sever?

I don't mind. Enemy pve zergs in cyrodiil are easy cannon fodder. Always nice to win a 1v3 fight with minimal losses.

I actually spoke with someone in one of my guilds last night who supports buff servers... he called it "competition" and all the gate camping and the rest of the crap that comes with buff servers "competition"

If it was not in guild chat, I would have raged on him so... very hard. lol
