This will be my first foray onto any sort of PTS, so I have many questions.

1) When ZoS gets back from Holiday on the 5th and they decide to make toon copies, do I need to be on a access list? I have the last PTS downloaded but I have not yet entered it. Should I do so and if I do will I see copied toons there?

2) As a newcomer, will I be able to see my toons on the PTS with their current 1.5 stuff and say to myself, "yes, this all looks the way I have seen it all December" before update 6 changes everything?

3) How many toons get copied? I have eight on NA, none on EU.

4) Are bags copied? I ask this because my principal focus is the Provisioning Overhaul. I need to see what happens to a wide variety of ingredients, cooked foods and drinks and unlearned recipes. As a followup to this and #3, is the content of my bank copied?

From what I have seen from PTS and what I recall

1.) You don't need to be on an access list, they copy all of the characters each account has onto PTS.

2.) If they do copy characters on the 5th they should be exactly as they are at the time of the copy so any recent changes will be reflected.

3.) All of the characters will get copied over, but once they move the EU characters over I assume (haven't checked) that your PTS will reflect your EU information, which is to say empty.

4.) If I remember correctly yes the bank inventory is copied over. Could be wrong since I didn't visit the bank in PTS enough to check.

    Thank you for the info.
I had indeed heard that EU was getting first crack at toon copy. That's not ideal for me since I dont have any provisioner contacts over on the EU server that I can compare notes with.
So I must wait. At least I can go to sleep early tonight knowing that I dont have to set up all my toon's bags with the provisioning related things that I want to test.

Even if your character doesn't get copied over, you can still make templates.

Almost everything about your character - level, personal inventory, bank inventory and horses - will be the same on the PTS as it exists on the live server when it is copied. All characters are copied from the respective server, which is currently the EU server.

I don't think guilds, guild banks and guild stores are copied; but I will defer to others who may have a more definitive answer here.

I'm pretty sure all guild aspects got copied over the last time they did a copy. It's been a while since I've checked though.

Are there any downsides to installing the PTS?
I have 4TB of disk space so that is not an issue.
Just worried about bugging my main game.

    3) How many toons get copied? I have eight on NA, none on EU.

These are excellent questions and wanted to offer what I have learned from the PTS.

    1) That you may download the PTS and give feedback on content before implementation is a very good thing. The response time for developer input is by far the fastest I have seen for an MMO. No access list needed, just 'make PTS visible' from ESO launcher [EU or NA].

    2) Your characters, on the day of the import, will be copied to the PTS. From that point if you game on the PTS and reach 12 additional levels in your character progression that will not be reflected on the NA server characters.

    3) At the time that ZoS states they will copy your characters, and their items, will be copied.
3a) there are 'templates' one can use then you can place your character in any given place from a dropdown menu and experience the game at that level.

    4) Essentially your account is copied over so yes bags et all are copied.

In terms of group adventuring - if you and your friends are on the PTS at the same time then that situation is ideal. Most of the time you are on your own, due to the fact that most of your friends are gaming on the NA server. Anyways the PTS servers are a great place to try out content.
It's not the destination but the journey.
