IF ESO goes free to play... something for subscribers? (UPDATED: We got it! sort of)

IF ESO goes free to play.... Can those of us who have had subscriptions get some sort of in-game thing to show that we were here when it was a subscription.

I mean, I've paid over $250 to play ESO (Box price + two 6 month subs) and it would be nice to be differentiated from the masses of free-playing gamers. A specific horse that will never be released would be awesome. I really like having my "beta monkey" and would like something similar if the whole F2P thing ever comes to pass.

Just a bug in the ear of ZOS... just in case. $:\$

UPDATE: So, despite how funny people found this post, ZOS has done exactly this for those of us that have been subscribed! We get a Senche Mount! Me-YOW!

A full-on follower/companion ala Elder Scrolls would be perfect. Allow us to kit them out in gear and weapons :P

*If* it ever goes B2P or F2P, I hope they segregate servers. Put subs on their own megaservers and deliver us content liberally and quickly. Put a paywall on all other content for B2P or F2P servers. Takes care of the degredation of the sub community and the F2P players can't whine about how subscribers have so much more access. Let ZOS nickel and dime the fly by night F2P hoppers, use the sub megaserver to develop content for the B2P consumers to get once it's been fully fleshed out and implemented.

So, in short 10 megaservers, at least 5 paid for by the B2P/F2P pay walls:
1 NA Sub PC megaserver
1 EU Sub PC megaserver
1 NA B2P/F2P PC megaserver
1 EU B2P/F2P PC megaserver
1 NA Sub Console megaserver
1 EU Sub Console megaserver
1 NA B2P/F2P Console megaserver

What you get with F2P is a bribe to shut you up. Then its a gradual slide into exploitive commercialism, pushing the boundaries a little further each time with what players will tolerate.

Then in a few years we all look at the game, devs and players, and cringe in dismay.

This is the perk I would like, no cash shop, not shop buttons, no pay to win, no gimmicks, no loot boxes where you have to buy a key, no ingame slot machines, no super grinds with pay workarounds, no dev time dedicated to cash shop fluff rather than real content.

You can keep your horse.

If ESO goes FTP Ill just go back to WoW.

If they want to do Free to Try, and make the first 10 or 15 level free to try without incorporating the money sponge farm fine.

If they do a FTP model, Ill just go play something else. FTP destroys gaming communities.

I'd want a refund and an open letter apologizing for that:

Well yea...what good is a cart without a horse? If you have a horse, it's still a pack animal/mode of transportation. A cart is just a container. With wheels.

You'd at the very least need a big push and a downward slope.

You can use dogs as the locomotive device or people, horses are just the standard fantasy locomotive device for pulling a cart.

Here's an analogy:

It's like you invest in a long-term fund that promises you good, steady returns, but suddenly it turns into a high risk one & you lose all your money.

You go in for the long term, but instead find a short term "investment". Some people might call this a "scam".

There are so many weird facts, that I started to question if ZOS is doing this on purpose:

For example: Every duplicated topic gets closed, I'm yet to see a closed F2P topic (Even though there is 10 daily new ones -> going on for weeks now).

They dropped the bomb before Christmas (6 months sub silently removed), and then went on a vacation like nothing happened. Players went crazy.

They still refuse to answer. All sites are going crazy (they love spreading negative press), but hell press is still press. Warlords of Draenor launched less than 2 months ago, and is already forgotten. It's crazy how many news are circling around about ESO.

There is only 2 options really:

They have the biggest genious at the marketing in the modern gaming (Without spending a penny, everyone is talking just about ESO at this very moment)

Or they are just scared to admit how they are going F2P or B2P. Whatever it is, they will announce it either at ESO Live -> 16th January. Or The Road Ahead -> End of January.

If you ask me, the 1st option is very likely. ESO is doing much better than anytime before (might be the Christmas sales, though I doubt it as the press is changing to very positive, and Update 6 is coming soon).

Apart from that, if they would really go F2P, they would for sure keep denying it, closing topics would be something normal etc. Also that bomb before Christmas..no company is that foolish as to not do something without a good purpose..

You have to admit something very fishy is going on. I can't wait for that ESO Live and The Road Ahead.
