The idiots are traveling to the campaigns by using "travel to player" bugs. Sometimes it doesn't even log them as having entered the campaign, which doesn't show them as part of the population bars.
@zos are there plans to address any of this?
Naturally, this doesn't mean the mechanic isn't bad and makes people who have actually set a campaign as Home or Guest unable to play in it.
But it allows those players to travel to campaigns that they wouldn't otherwise be able to.
Example: I have a DC character homed on Thornblade. I can log into my AD character and travel to someone in my guild/group that is in Thornblade and by-pass the faction restrictions that I would get otherwise when trying to home or guess both of those characters to the same campaign.
Yes but if they don't allow people to travel to other player then there wouldn't be any reason to play any faction but one for PvP since most of the time there is active PvP on only a single campaign...and would bring down the amount of people grinding other faction toons
I owe proof to ZOS, which I provided. I don't feel like getting a forum ban for naming and shaming. No thanks.Personal experience, son. No lag until a certain group of lagsploit spammers shows up. Like clockwork. They've bragged about it on these forums.
You've never provided proof for that. Always an excuse when I ask you.
I don't owe you anything. Every other DC knows this happens.
If you make accusations publically you absolutely owe us proof.
It's not a hard concept. If you cant back it up on the forums leave it off the forums. Report it and leave it, or else please provide some sort of substance.
At this point you're trolling . People can discuss this on the forums without getting banned . The real question now is , if it has nothing to do with you , why be so defensive ?[/quoteI owe proof to ZOS, which I provided. I don't feel like getting a forum ban for naming and shaming. I agree, using the travel to player option lets allows players to play multiple toons from multiple factions in one campaign and can keep things interesting if someone wants to get a "different perspective". But, I feel like if this mechanic is going to continue to work this way, the restriction to home/guest multiple characters from different factions on the same campaign should be lifted.
Yes it should and then they can drop camps...Jessica Fallsom I think it is said they were looking into it from ZoS said they were looking into doing this

If you make a public accusation, then you should provide evidence. Otherwise, all you're doing is mud-slinging.
I don't mean this against you personally, but way too much finger pointing goes on here in the forums.
I'm not EP, and I'm certainly not part of the EP guild that I think you're talking about, but I've seen enough false accusations against my own faction and guild here to be highly suspicious of any accusations made without proof.
So, until I see evidence indicating otherwise, I don't believe that any significant number of EP players are playing other factions in order to gain advantage for EP.
I'm of two minds on this matter, the guild that I run is not a PvP guild by and large but we like to come in as a group every so often and muck about. We recruit across characters on all three factions so we're often doing events for specific factions from night to night. On that hand I actually wish there were fewer restrictions on getting characters into the same campaign (largely due to getting into a PvP fight which is limited to thornblade and sometimes haderus now)
With all that said, we don't run these events on the same night so I would happily agree to a 24hour lockout timer to discourage poor sportsmanship via changing sides.
I'll leave it alone since no one wants to engage with it. I'd like to put forward that if it interests you enough to put it on the forums, likely other people will be equally interested and discuss the topic. If all you're going to give people is "trust me", why even put up a discussion? Just leads to bad feelings about accusations no one can confirm or defend against.

Will you just... stop..... please?
You and Columba have this fight almost every thread I see y'all in; if you want the proof, go play PvP and see if you can find it yourself. The name and shaming policy prevents us from dealing out the deserved justice to the exploiters, and PMing names and arguing about it is pointless drama that causes nothing but anger and headaches.
He is not going to give you the proof you want and your pointless arguing back and forth will not change that.

That one wasn't even at Columba, so.....
But still, the point stands. Throwing vague accusations is bad form. People should not expect to just throw *** around and not get called on it.

and my point still stands. the only reason you are arguing like this is BECAUSE of Columba. It is getting old and would be nice if you two kiss and made up already

I have about 2 hours of video proof
Hey, I'd love to see it. Though I somehow suspect it will be like last time, people building ulti misconstrued to be purposely lagging the server.
People just jump too fast to malice. I've been accused of spamming impulse/springs to lag people out and I've run a stamina build since 1.2, so I'm always skeptical of these claims
