Swapping weapons breaks block

When you change weapons while blocking, there seems to be a small window where attacks go through block. This can be reproduced by holding block, swapping weapons constantly and have someone shield charge/frag/streak you - many times you will get knocked down (with full stamina etc). Is this intended or a bug?
This greatly affects tactics in tanking and in pvp, as weapon swap comes with a great liability.

✭✭Blocking in this game is ridiculous. You shouldn't be able to permablock anyway. Even if it is a bug they should keep it.:trollin:3 -

Completely agree. Swapping your weapons should come with liability. If you are swapping your weapon, what the hell are you blocking with?2 -

✭✭✭✭Blocking seems to be seamless while swapping from S/B to S/B but not S/B and other. Also bash is still not interrupting heavy attacks.Edited by Armitas on January 7, 2015 5:47PMRetired.

Gargragrond✭✭✭Also, when you swap to s/b, there's 1s+ delay before you can do light attack. There's no such delay when you swap to staff for example. Is this a bug or intended nerf to s/b? Many times the weapon swap doesn't even work ("can't swap weapons right now" - when would be a good time?).
Imo people should be encouraged to play actively with both skill bars, not hinder them.0 -

Gargragrond✭✭✭Yes, it's reasonable that you can't block while swapping, but it's another question whether it's intended mechanics or not.
I was mainly asking if this is a new thing as I recall getting wiped far less in the past while tanking/swapping, and whether this might be related to recent problems with block dropping randomly, or if it's related to certain weapon types etc.
anyway, I tested that there's a gap even when swapping between s/b->s/b and with other weapon types as well, so I guess it's consistent.0
