Please roll back the Vet Levels soon. Torture!

I am sorry if this comes across as negative, but it will.
I have made a character to VR1 and feel as XP tracking is not a thing that there is no point - zero - ziltch - nada - in levelling further, because you are eventually rolling back the VR levels.

- So I am asking; begging, for you to do it. Roll back vet ranks sooner rather than later.
- I am definitely not alone in this sentiment (please support me here, community)
- We want to progress, not waste time.

This surely should be an important topic on the ZOS agenda?
Instead, I am currently levelling up my Cyrodiill ranks (for the 3rd time - hey, classes aren't important, right?)

We just don't want it to be 4 months away before we get to enjoy our characters, and progress them.
I'll be pushing this during ESO live questions and encourage others to, as well.

If your group is bigger than 6 members gain 75% damage reduction.

Write this on the back of your box and see how many sales you get!

You won't get any new PvP players until this archaic AoE crap is fixed.
I for one won't resub until:
1.) You fix lag.
2.) You remove AOE caps we voted against.
3.) 12 months have passed (this is how long we've waited for you to 'get with it')[/b]

/agree I stopped leveling my VR 2 and VR3 toon and have been working on a 3rd to get to 50 before 1.6 comes. What's the point of progressing past VR1 at this point? I want the CP exp when it comes and better to have them at low VR levels so I can do silver and gold after 1.6.

I actually got tired of Cadwells silver anyway so my vet player has been stuck at vr4 for months, so glad all I do is craft with him, and play the game with my alts.

It will be nice to have the 30 cps when 1.6 goes live and still have all the xp I didn't work on yet. I'm guessing when 1.6 goes live a lot of the xp charts will still be broke so the silver and gold missions have the potential to payout a ton of xp to a level 50 character.

Vet ranks won't disappear until update 1.7. Update 1.6 hasn't even appeared in the PTS yet. So we have at least 2 months, and more likely 3 months before vet ranks disappear.

So unless it takes you 2 months to level a character to v14, there's no reason to stop leveling, especially if you're doing the zone quests, since they give you skillpoints.

There is a LOT of work ahead before VR are completely gone. I'd not worry about it. They need to rescale all equipment, gear, food, drinks, potions, etc. In most areas, it will likely just be a display change. I doubt they are going to remove VR and just leave the game at level 50. Game would be incredibly boring. And I don't believe Cadwell's Silver/Gold is going anywhere. You'll still want to do those.

I basically agree. I stopped leveling my new VR character. I converted my current VR14 sorc to full time crafter (has all crafts maxed now), PvP with my lowbie VR NB, and am leveling a non-vet battlemage.

So my main is VR14 and right now I'm not really sure what to do. I have never played an MMO that in less than a year I have run out of motivation to do anything.
    • I am getting tired of the same old dungeons over and over that are not difficult unless you happen to get a PUG that doesn't know how to use basic game mechanics.
    • The Undaunted items, and most quest rewards in general, are underwhelming and of course completely random for some reason. I have no idea why they decided to go in this direction instead of a token system.
    • There isn't any point in doing other quests since XP is apparently not being tracked and again the quest rewards are utterly useless except for mats.
    • PvP is a disaster due to terrible lag and horribly implemented game mechanics like block casting and the emphasis on magicka builds unless you use snipe.
    • PvE is a faceroll as a nightblade since I only have to hold block and cast sap essence.
    • Crafting any useful consumables in this game is chore. You cannot craft purple recipes unless you wait for the items to come in the mail, because for some reason you can't harvest them(?). And of course tracking down flowers for alchemy is a huge tedious time sink.

I'm really hoping this next update is incredible because I'm at the point now where I'm running out of reasons to play. It amazes me that I'm even saying this because I played Oblivion and Skyrim for years and the expectation should be that an MMO should provide for a much longer playing experience. I do not want to do anything with my alts because I absolutely HATE that I am forced to do the main quests, not once, but three times to even get access to all the shards. At this point I'm feeling that ZOS has failed in this game. The fact that I find single player fantasy RPGs are more entertaining than a just released AAA MMO is telling. So updated 6 had better be killer otherwise I suspect that many will probably jump ship, myself included. There just isn't any reason for me to pay for a game that I have stopped playing. This isn't a /quit post, I'm really just frustrated and disappointed.

I don't think you are alone. I suspect a lot of people are going to be looking at 1.6 as the make-or-break moment. And I think ZOS is well aware of this. I myself will give ZOS one or two patches to fix the inevitable bugs in 1.6.

I too have come to expect many game impeding bugs and weeks trying to fix them from ZOS. The overall "fun" factor should be there though otherwise I don't see the point. I plan on purchasing two copies of Divinity this week for my partner and I. What's the point of paying for a fantasy MMO if you can get more satisfaction from a multiplayer fantasy game? I'm already loving Dragon Age Inquisition and from an economic perspective doesn't it just make sense to forfeit 3 months of sub for an MMO to buy a single player or multiplayer game that is far more enjoyable, more polished, and has better graphics. WAKE UP ZOS this isn't 1999 you have to actually put some work into your customers because there is a TON of competition these days. Steam has made this possible by giving smaller developers the chance to find funding for their projects and showcase their creations. That means we expect more from AAA MMOs that have a sub.

My main hit VR14 about 4 months ago, so i've just been finishing off leveling the last few skill lines and harvesting crafting mats. I was still playing him regularly until the 30 cp announcement now i just let him sit until 1.6 comes out.

My 2nd main is level 25 have been using him to grind the fighter's guild quest to gather rare motifs for my crafting characters.

My other alts are sitting right @ 49-50 so i won't use them until 1.6 hits. I'm really in no rush, but it would be nice to see what the real deal for 1.6 will be before i plan my next steps. I'm not one to take too much stock in all the rumors flying around, but there is still plenty to do while i wait and see what happens.

I will admit that as the game has been currently set up with the issues over ChP and the eventual loss of Veteran Ranks, ZOS has (unintentionally) made all current Veteran Ranked characters more or less useless for further game progression.
However, I heavily disagree that this game has become pointless, boring, and no longer fun. It's a game you guys, look around, there's a ton of stuff to do! If nothing is fun, what's keeping you hear to play it? Are you admitting that you enjoy doing tedious tasks that are not fun?
I stopped playing my Veteran Character for the same reasons as you guys, but I'm not angry or playing the game spitefully. I'm finding entertainment in exploration, I'm looking up away from my mini map and away from quest objectives and roads to find interesting things. I'm treasure chest hunting in level appropriate areas. I'm fishing hoping to get that one rare fish that seems impossible to find. I'm sitting in a single spot and chatting with friends and random people across the zone chat. I'm running over to places I forgot to look for in order to hunt down achievements.
So what, are you saying you've really done everything? Sure I bet you power leveled you're way through everything, but have you guys noticed there are roses that deserve to be sniffed?

A lot of you who seem to be complaining about content, not having things to do, and nothing in the game is fun any more, it sounds like you're part of one of two groups, you're either a person who should not be playing MMO's because it sounds like MMO activities are a chore for you, or you're a person who wants to complain because nothing will ever apply to your standard of ideal game play but you will still play the game anyways if only just to complain about it and act like you're not really enjoying yourselves.

The secret to having fun in MMO's is to take the activities that seem boring or repetitive and spice them up based on what you find fun. Sure you've done every dungeon in the game... but have you done every dungeon in the game naked? Sure you've done a bunch of fishing, but have you ever gotten on the zone chat and set up a large fishing party with a bet as to who can find the rarest fish first? Sure you've tried playing your favorite build against most of the content, but how many times have you built a character with a weird build that just seems fun rather than cookie cutter style? Yeah I bet you talk to members of your guild but how many times have you tried to set up a get together for drinking at the local pub in a random city? How many Hidden Treasure chests have you hunted down? Are you an avid reader, because if you are I bet your Eidetic Memory isn't anywhere near being completely filled up yet.
A lot of MMO playing is building your own adventure, it doesn't even have to be Role Playing. There's just a lot of content in the game that just sits there waiting to be used in some creative and unconventional way, but in order to actually enjoy it you deviate away from the norm and be creative.

Ask yourselves this, if you're not enjoying the game and having fun any more, then why are you here? Are you just some die hard fan that believes that if you take enough personal punishment that things will just magically fix themselves because a Developer must be capable of recognizing your pain?
The moment a game makes me frustrated, I take a break, if the frustration is repeated and unending then I stop playing it, no questions asked. I quit all my previous MMO's this way and I like to think that because my old MMO's punished me, I punished them back by not playing and ending my payment towards their service. That's more than enough punishment for any company, and every little player counts.
However, if you're just complaining and threatening but never actually leaving, then you are paying the company to punish you in hopes that maybe they will eventually feel bad.
Another way to see it is that if you keep participating in the game despite that you don't like it, you're actually hindering the company's growth. How is the company ever going to know that their game is angering people if the people who are angry never stop playing. As long as there is a large enough player base using their services, they're going top think everything is okay even with all the complaints. Sure you can send in angry comments and reviews, but what really speaks is the player population and the amount of money that rolls in from those players.

A lot of people have quit this game with only a couple complaints or sometimes none at all. Those people who have quit have made the perfect point which is, "I believe you guys messed up, thus you have lost my subscription." That's way more than enough to show the company that they need to start making changes or continue to lose players until the game is empty and the company fails.

I personally have found much joy in the game and even with my new alternative characters that I started I'm still finding fresh and new game play as well as I'm always able to find an activity within the game that is considered mundane but I can easily think of something weird or different to add challenge or complexity to the activity.

Every MMO I've played becomes boring if you just constantly play it the way it was designed to be played, material runs out all the time, it's up to you to find a way to recycle the material in order to make it fun for you.
