Why is there a limit on the number of daily quests that can be completed each day?

Why is there a limit on the number of daily quests that can be completed each day?

I completed the following quests today and when I tried to start another kill enemy player quest in Cyrodiil, I received an error message that I reached the limit on the number of daily quests I can complete.

2-3 Kill Enemy Player quests in Cyrodiil
10 Bruma quests
10 Cheydinhal quests
9 Cropsford quests
8 Vlastarus quests
3 Crafting writs
1 Veteran Crypt of Hearts Undaunted Pledge

I should be able to complete every daily quest in the game every day. There should be no limit to them. I should be able to complete the three remaining Kill Player quests, the one remaining Vlastarus quest, the Chorrol/Weynon Priory quests, the three remaining Crafting writs, the non-vet Undaunted Pledge and all of the daily quests in Craglorn in addition to all of the above quests.

This daily quest limit needs to be eliminated.

But what a strange limit is 43 quest?

Thinking of it... I thought I did all 50 city quests in Cyrodiil the other day. But it was at night, maybe there was a reset while I was on it.

The daily quest timer currently resets at 1:00 am Eastern every day.

I agree that something sounds off here. It makes no sense for the limit (that I've never encountered) to be an arbitrary number like 43. Are you sure you didn't just encounter an error?

I may have missed one of the Kill or Vlastarus quests (so it may be 42 or 44); but the issue is a legitimate one. I first encountered it back in November and today was the second time. If you try to complete all of the daily Cyrodiil city quests, you will see the message as well.

The fact you want to do the same content 50x a day, every day, seems like the larger issue to me.

Daily quests are the bane of good games. They were added to F2P games in order to try and lure players in to the game and get them playing every day, so they spent more money.

They have no place in a triple A title imho. Just lazy game design to string players along.

There should be enough content in a premium subscription game to keep people interested in playing without the need to lure them into the game with the excuse "oh I need to go do my dailies...".

While I agree that there shouldn't be a limit on doing any quests, period. I think you are missing the larger point as I've stated.

Players will always be able to complete content faster than it can be created regardless of who the developer is or how "premium" the game is. I can give ZOS a pass for that.

Also, these daily quests are the best combination source of gold and XP for skill leveling (which I am currently doing) and for replenishing my bank account after the spending spree of this past weekend. If you have a better way or simultaneously increasing gold and XP for skills, I would love to hear it.

This is an odd situation that I agree shouldn't exist. If someone wants to do all the dailies (I think there's ~75), they should be able to. I've never come close to hitting this limit, but with this info I will investigate and see if I can reproduce the error message.

Just to check; there is a limit of 25 quests that can be active at once, which would also produce a similar error saying that you had reached the limit of the number of quests you can accept.

@ShadowHvo : in your Cyrodiil daily quest hub speedrun did you do all 50 quests without hitting an error?

To be fair - a daily quest limit is short sighted. Considering how many people will be relying on daily quests for CP points after 1.6/1.7, they really shouldn't have a cap on the number of dailies you can do.

If you have to rely on daily quests for CP, then ZOS has failed with the Champion System. They pretty much said this is NOT how they want it to work.

How exactly are players supposed to earn Champion Points then if they cannot or should not complete the daily quests? Grinding in Craglorn? Abandoning their main character and rolling an alt? Please enlighten us!

I agree (I even clicked the little "agree"), but ZOS has said a lot of things recently which seem to go against what they have said previously.

If you're V14 without having access to one-off quests (Caldwells), and not wanting to PvP, or to grind Spellscar, then dailies would be the best way to get XP/CP. And maybe people like the dailies? The Cyro dailies can be fun since you get a little PvP thrown in there every now and then.

If there is a cap on dailies, then it should be at least noted somewhere how many dailies you can do, and have left to do, per day. Having hidden counters to gate content and progression is very bad form.
