Obscenely long Public Dungeon Champion spawn timers.

    these bosses are not on a "spawn timer" they are on a "despawn timer" and a forced spawn.

    in layman's terms, this means;

    only 1 or 2 bosses can be up at a time in a group delve, they use RNG to spawn, so they can spawn in any order.
    what you need to do is continue to clear all the bosses in the delve until RNG favors you and the bosses you need spawn.
    it takes roughly 3-5min for the boss' body to despawn after you kill it, once it's body disappears, one of the bosses will spawn.

    I've come across a few so far that have been 1+hours to spawn. After waiting an eternity I just gave up and will probably go back after they get the spawn times right. like the OP said, I could understand if it was going to be an incredible achievement or drop or something but when your looking to get one worth 5 points then why make us wait so long?

    I know. I feel in many aspects of the game they have a few mechanics all trying to solve one issue and they end up just overcomplicating it. gets a little frustrating

    Ive been in bloodmayne cave waiting ALL DAY for Ironlash to spawn checking in and out. Zenimax seriously, what the hell???? This should NOT take a stupid amount of time to appear. This isnt the first time ive WASTED hours and hours and hours travelling back in forth and looking to see if a boss spawned yet. Obviously they either dont play their own game much or just think its fine as it is. Beats the hell outta me...

    As far as killing everything to make others spawn faster, not true.

    I have every achievement in the game for killing all public dungeon bosses and all Cyrodiil delve bosses. The fact is that you MUST CYCLE THE BOSSES TO GET THE ONE YOU WANT TO SPAWN. You cannot just wait, and wait, and wait for one to spawn. You must kill any others that are alive at the time.

    They don't care. This issue has been made crystal clear to them many, many times. There are no tricks, you just have to look at a map where all the boss spawns and constantly go back and forth killing them until the right ones show up. I've done all of the Cyrodiil caves twice and I'm telling you sometimes you will have to stay in some of them for over an hour waiting as opposed to playing. Bloodmayne Cave is especially bad. Newt Cave, Pothole Caverns, and Red Ruby Cave were others...

    Make Rush of Agony "Monsters only." People should not be consecutively crowd controlled in a PvP setting. Period.

    Bloodmayne Cave is the worst for me. I'm sure I've just gotten lucky the last few times in a few others. But Bloodmayne... sheesh. The last two toons I was doing achievements on spent 6-8 hours in there EACH. I missed the spawn I needed on one of those toons about halfway through because I was alt tabbed and stealthed in a corner when some DC came through and killed him. I tabbed back in to see Razorback's dead body and almost cried.

    Update I still waiting for this to be fixed ---- July 2015. I have been waiting for the longest time for Drel. The boss respawn timer is absolutely terrible there.

    After reading this thread ... I guess the days of the Everquest mindset for mmo players are long gone...

    You could wait months on rare spawns in that game ... Which made finally getting the drop really cool ... No one back then thought of it as terrible or awful ... Was just satisfying when you achieved it finally ... Of course many played EQ for years so time was not a huge concern early on it was just the way it was...

    Fast forward to today with mmo on console .... Lol ... Everyone wants everything right dang now or they say the will go to another game .... Sigh

    Long quests / super rare spawns / super rare loot ... Are actually cool to have in games but soon I guess they will all have to be a thing of the past because of the fast food mentality of today's gamer

    There used to be quests in old mmos that took actual months and months to complete but were satisfying to finally get it finished ... Like the prayer shawl quest in EQ / wiki thus gate opening wow / hero of the Magdar wow / came the AC in EQ / hk-51 SWToR / the epic quest lines of LOTRO

    Those type of quests and rare mobs are disappearing at an alarming pace with each years new releases of MMO's

    It's not that the last boss doesn't ever spawn, it's just that this terrible mechanics once exclusive of Cyrodiil's delves, in which the bosses one or two bosses used to appear at once, randomly (so you had to spent more time in there risking a AvA encounter) becomes progressively harder.

    If a delve/public dungeon have 6 bosses, the game sorts one or two bosses among those six for you to find. Because you haven't kill any yet, it's an 100% encounter rate.

    You kill the first, and the chances for you to find the second is now around 83.3%

    You kill the second, and now the chances are around 66.6%.

    Next, 50%. And then, 33.3%. And then finally 16.6% for the fourth, fifth and sixth bosses, respectively.

    But after each kill, another boss is sorted to take the spot of the previous which could have a potential effective chance to reduced all of them to 2.76% chance (16.6% / 6 bosses).

    Unfortunately, there is not other choice then run around the entire place killing every new boss you find, always in the same order and after each kill go all the way back to the boss you're looking for and see if the one sorted was the one you were expecting.

    Things get really messed up in low level Public Dungeons. I remember the first time I cleared them all, alone, with my main character, it was relatively quick (not easy because I always played at orange and red quests stages back in the day).

    The second time, this hasn't been brought from Cyrodiil yet. I had more experience in game, more CPs and it was super quick.

    The third time I took hours to clear Toothmaul Gully because the place was crowded with other players doing the same rotation I was. More! There was one b*st*rd standing still, hidden, in the area in front of the last boss I needed while I was rotating them all. When I was coming back to check if the one I needed appeared, he started the fight and I almost didn't get credit for its kill.

    I even texted in zone chat that he could've at least waited since he was doing nothing to help the rotation. And he could and faster than me, since he was a stamina player and my Magicka Templar just can't run decently.

    Supposedly it was to keep the bots at bay but its done nothing but impacted the actual players more then anything. Theres no excuse for sitting there as long as you do for these bosses. Especially in a public setting.
