Bah. I'm a completionist (roughly 12.000 achievement points) and while I do think a few things could be revised, I'm happy to get achievements for their own sake and for the titles/dyes.

Also, I'm happy that ZOS didn't create achievements that can only be obtained by 1 person (1st on server-type achievements).

Regarding the things that could use a few tweaks:

    - No achievement for maxing all trait researches? :(
    - Deconstruction/refining/harvesting achivements require WAY too much deconstruction/refining/harvesting. I've been playing since day 0 and am still around 50% of the objectives. I believe these achievements were introduced after launch, so I may have missed a lot of progress from when the achievement wasn't there.
    - Collectible drops are extremely rare and grindy, and there's still the issue that DC players can't get it if they didn't get a specific item that only drops for pre-VR players in DC territory.
    - Fishing achievements are also extremely grindy. It would be nice if fishing could give you better bait that would increase the chance of getting rare catches.

Is that the reason why i have never (played since early access day 1) ever found one collecible? Darn it.

I wasn't very clear. There's a specific collectible drop that you can only get from a beast in DC territory. Since you don't get drops for creatures 5 levels lower than you, and this creature only exists there, DC players that go into VR world can't ever get it. It's the Cruel Collar, which only drops from jackals in Alik'r Desert and no other place. CS have said they've submitted a bug report, but this was months ago.

Other collectibles should drop at their usual (low) drop rates. You're one unlucky guy if you haven't gotten a single one - I've had dozens of Chattering Skulls, a couple Gyros and Dynamos and a few others, but am still missing many many collectibles. Recently I've tried farming Frost and Storm atronachs in Craglorn for their collectibles, but so far no luck.

    Ah ok.

Well i never had one collectible and i killed my share of creatures. But the same i also only found 3 blue motifs so far and one was Breton which i am myself lol. And i caught 1 collection fish which didn't register when i used it. Yep me and RNG, not a good match,

If achievement points don't actually give you anything, what good are they? Yes, I kinda DO expect to be rewarded in some tangible fashion for having completed an achievement. I'm okay if those achievement rewards are for "fluff" and don't actually effect game mechanics or stats though I -do- think some of them should. I love the idea of an achievements points vendor that sells fun stuff like costumes. I'd be okay with using achievement points to purchase additional hairstyles IF that means, once I've "purchased" a hairstyle I can use it on ANY of my characters (and I want costumes to be the same) and that I can keep it and switch it around (example: change my character's hairstyle from day to day any time I want to without cost or penalty) all I want. But there still ALSO needs to be a barber shop for which you can pay in game gold to get new hairstyles.

It's really disappointing to "use" a reward only to discover it just disappears and leaves you with nothing.

Dyes need to be unlockable in some other fashion as well. All the best colors are completely locked away from the vast majority of players and frankly that's just.... petty and stupid.

There are only 3 achievements that I think are far from the reach of ordinary players: emperor (due to the difficulty of leading the leaderboards in PvP and getting the required keeps), collectibles and fishing (due to the extremely random frequency of drops). Achievements mean nothing if all you need to do is pay up or some other form of "unlocking".

That said, I have nothing against achievements offering more than dyes and titles. Just not something that changes game mechanics (i.e. skills, buffs, gear, etc).

It's a grocery list of things to do, simply for the act of doing them.

It's like a bucket list. They had stats like this in the standalone's too - how many horses you stole, kills, deaths, etc.

It's a nice novelty that lets you compare what you've done vs alts and other characters.

It also gives you something to do when you don't specifically want something to do.

The achievements are their own reward. The dyes and titles are bonuses allowing you do display them.

What people forget is that the series this was based on had some things that were there just because they could be.

CP's will give you your utility. Fishing integrating with provisioning.

The only thing I would like to see with this, it would be nice to have a method to display the trophies you collect, sometime in the future.

Collectibles didn't start dropping until the dyes update. I recently started an alt and am now receiving collectibles at the lower levels. When I was leveling my main during early access, I did not receive any collectible drops.

Why i can't play another class?-Because i will be need to do all achievements again because idk will they or not rewarded in future.
Why PvP and PvE gives to players some things which improve character power and PvA not?
So the reason to do achievements?-No reason.....because better to do PvP or PvE and get some profit which help you ingame. And such profit as "dyes/title" useless compare to some stuff you can get from PvP and PvE.

    As for all the rest:
Yeah, I'm kind of jealous. But no, I don't see any of this happen, especially not the thing where you get the total amount of ever earned achievement points EVEY DAY as a currency.

As for you "PvP,PvE,PvA"-graphic didn't you do PvP and/or PvE in order to complete you achievements?! I mean actually you already got payed!

To earn usefull things from PvP and PvE i shouldn't do all achievements.Because to earn usefull things i need to do ~40% of all achievements and others just "junk".

CP should be earned by achievements only.

Achievements should give you absolutely nothing but cosmetical enhancements.

There are probably more people than me, that never open the achievements because they simply do not care.

I don't want to be forced to play content I don't like to get gameplay enhancements to stay competitive.

We already have implemented progressional systems for our character and crafting. Why overcomplicate it?

As a couple others have posted, Achievements are a Bucket List, not a To Do List. I don't chase achievements unless they make sense to me. Like getting all the Motifs for Crafting, I would do this anyway, but it's nice to get a Dye for it.

The other day I opened up the list and saw I was close to getting the Monster killing achievement, so I went out and ground out the last few mob types that I had overlooked in the game. It was a fun diversion from questing for a few hours.

Then there are others where I look at them and think, not in this lifetime, like blocking 10,000,000 damage in a Dungeon. I can deal that much damage, but I am not going to block that much ever. In fact I have two characters who have done 10 Million plus damage, but both are less than 300,000 in blocked damage. Not even going to talk about healing, I think I am less than 10,000 on my 3 mains.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

I don't want to play PvP but i need gear from PvP vendor to be competitive. Why i must go to PvP?MB i want to get it throw fishing :)

In 1.6. already implemented systems for our progress will be ruined. And the question "Why overcomplicate it?" must be specified to ZOS.
Why i think that with CS the game will be harder?
    • in 1.6. you should grind to be equal minimum requirements for endgame content. If you can't grind wait for "exp buff" and grind again. If you don't want grind you can't do endgame content and....just unsubscribe.
    • When you finally grind that "minimum" others already will do new content....

so it will be a more pit between players when CS comes.

I would like to see more rewards other than title/dye for hard acivments. Mounts is something I really wish were introduced to the game soon. I remember playing other MMOs and you always felt overpower compere to others if you had achive a very hard acivment that rewarded you with a epic looking mount you could show of to everyone.

ETC on hard acviment would be:

Armoured Steed - Be rank Top 3 on leaderbord for trials/dragonstar arena and you get an epic mount
    -
Emperors horse - Give the current emperor a epic mount to travel around with while being emperor, this should also have increased movement speed and stamina compered to other mounts.(degreade this to battle worn armour steed if the empreror loses the crown and become former emp)

Battle Worn Armour steed - Former emperor horse after losing emperors horse, this horse have normal horse stats.

Endrurance Horse- Complete trials 100times to unlocke this. This steed have increased stamina/speed buff than a normal horse.

Legendary Steed - Reach rank 1 on the leaderbord on atleast 3 trials at once. This horse would be looking epic and have hige stats compere to others, maybe increase invetory space by 100 at lvl 1?

Could be other mounts than a horse like those kasjhit tigers etc, but know zos dosnt wanna break lore so duno

That's exactly what I found, too. And the Skulls were so many that I even sold some of them to normal merchants to get rid of them. The rest I keep/kept for my other characters, also the other collectibles which I had twice or more.

I haven't found any during the last weeks or even months anymore, though, although I was levelling 2 new characters. The collectible drop rate is pretty poor, and if something drops, it's always the same stuff.

Although it would not be an "achievement" anymore, it would be great if we could trade collectibles with other players, but they are account-bound.

Well.. Yes because this is what makes the mount special, you wanna feel special when your jumping on the back on these horses.

They should also add new types of mount for players who can't reach these goals wtih lesser effort acivment. But the main point is they should add something worth your time for doing these insane achivments, and make the player feel they achicved something great while riding on this beast.

You pretty much wanna stand out in the crowd, if everyone got access to these then its not special and you wont feel good about your self anymore. Take the former emperor title for example, it used to be "Oh my god you have been emperor!", and now its like "lol a former emperor, nice job emperor trader". Kinda lost it touch when everyone had access to it..

I like the idea of achievements giving something beyond the achievement itself, but agree with some previous posters who mentioned that these shouldn't be game-changing.

I'd be perfectly happy with just some costumes or the like. Not because I feel that the achievement isn't reward enough, but just as a little extra thing. Not a big deal if it never happens, would be cool, though.

Apparently you never soloed the game, including world bosses on level, dolmens on level, public dungeons on level, etc.
That is an "insane achievement", as you call it.
But the "goodies" are for groups only, although it's so much easier.

I remember the dolmen near Vulkhel Guard when I just arrived in Auridon at VR6 with my main back then. I saw the dolmen coming up and went straight to it. No other players around, but I thought I'll just give it a try, I've done this before. Well, my endboss was Ozzozachar. And I made it, on level. And what did I get? A white staff, and an achievement without an attachment.
I got tons of other things done like this, just saying.

No offense, but you PvP elite guys should try not to bang your heads on the keep door frames too often up there on your high horses.

Also, I do not want to stand out in the crowd. Why should I? If I would need the attention from all players in a crowded city, I'd stand at the highest possible spot, cast that cheese cover called Siege Weapon Shield and /dancedunmer (female) with nothing on but pink boots.

That said, I do get your point, but there should also be something in it for all the solo players.

In the long run any achievements that we get should unlock something. Sadly this isn't the case in any MMO that I played. Most give points, but nothing can be done with said currency.

I know that Blizz once considered a shop for pets, mounts and stuff that players could buy with that currency. That however was later considered less good and the real money item shop came.

Since we don't have housing or any other RP stuff besides dyes, what could they give us?

Yeah I keep being told I'm getting "points" for all these achievements I do but no one can tell me of what use these supposed points are. If it was something I was "banking" to use as a form of currency to get goodies I actually WANT later, I'd be perfectly cool with that.

As to what they COULD give us for these points, the possibilities are endless. But I'd be super happy with MORE DYES that I could simply "purchase" with achievement points.

Most Achievements need to be revised so they're account based.

On one character I have three crafts certified, on another I have another 3 certified but yet I do not have the dye for having all my crafts certified

It would also be nice to know which achievements I have unlocked on other characters by having that Dye highlighted in white no matter what character I'm on.

You can just go to the other certifier and get them certified, it takes seconds, I know because I did that when the writs first launched.

So long as you get the first three crafts certified, you can then go to the other certifier and get the other three. You do have a list of what your character has achieved, and it shows you which achievements give dyes, so if you write down which dyes from that sheet, and then you can compare.

I know actually writing things down, with a pen and paper, I'm so last century
