I'd like to say it wouldn't but....

    - Loyalty system went in place pretty early
    - Check your inactive friend/guild lists
    - 6 Month sub is MIA (which isn't future thinking and slapping the most loyal of customers out of their $1/month discount)
    - PvP pop caps are at 225/225/225 used to be 600/600/600 One server is full and the other doesn't come close to it where as the 600 system used to have 1 and atleast 1/2 another server at pop cap that is massive decline.

Either way we will know by the financial year roll over

Just remember the one's that want f2p is also the one's that said

    1. ESO Will have to release as f2p, and they was wrong.
    2. They said ESO Will be f2p within 6 months, again they was wrong.
    3. They said ESO Will fail if it does not go f2p in 6 months, again they was wrong.

So being wrong so many times why is anyone listening to them now?

You're on a roll with getting my awesomes today. I really don't get all the dev sucking up that goes down, they haven't been doing a good job at all PvP is in tatters and population is on a downward spiral. People need to be honest and upfront with the devs/designers.

The most important speculation is about their agreement with consoles. There was a rumor that they were not able to reach an agreement with Sony and Microsoft to allow online access for free so players could just pay one subscription. If this is true, it could force them into a new direction because if players had to pay for PSN or XBL, they would not want to pay a second subscription fee.

This is just a rumor and I have no idea how it could be confirmed or proven wrong, but I really never felt the subscription fee to PSN or XBL would make a difference anyways. I mean, sure it would be nice to only have to pay for ESO and not the other, but I play more than one game on my console, like GTA5, so I already have to pay the Playstation Plus fee. Anyways, some have said this myth is why the six month sub is gone, but anyone who says for certain yes or no, is no better than a religious nutcase.

The population most certainly is not in a downward spiral. Quite the opposite. I haven't seen the zones this populated since launch. There are more and more new players every day as evidenced simply my reading guild and zone chat and talking with people in groups. The game is actually growing in popularity and reviews. I recruit for a top trading guild that has 10-15 inactive accounts get booted every day or so, but ya know what? There is no problem finding another 10-15 people to take their place. When it gets to the point that people are leaving faster than they are getting replaced by new players, then I will believe the game is dying.

They need a server maintenance though. It's been almost 3 weeks and the effects are starting to show. Right now with all these returning and new players is not the time to be skipping scheduled maintenance days. Regardless of the holiday season.

That is exactly what it is, it was probably changed to gain money for lower month subs, but since I like many others can still have the reoccurring 6 month, its certainly not a sign of free to play lol

I agree I think I have seen a thread or two in the forums about returning players. Plus all the key people are still in place Sage, Firor, the Konk all still employed as far as I know, they have ambitious plans for the future, they have a live show every two weeks, I hardly think the dropping of the 6 month sub is leading to the end of the world as we know it.

I meet a lot of new people in the starting areas that just got the game as I work up my alt, chat is active. In pvp yes I know they lowered the cap, I see all three factions locked on thorny during prime time, I see two bars in Haderus, of Ad two bars of Blue on chilly, heck I even seen two bars on the non vet the other day, as much as the haters like to hate time to go find another game to hate on, if I remember wow started off pretty bad lost subs and look what happened to that game over the years. Not saying ESO is going to have the numbers of wow but I think it is doing ok I just don't see the trend for change like I have in other games that made the switch.

Nope, it was FFXIV developer and he was talking about FFXIV. I have no idea why people have been misusing that phrase in eso

personal i don't think they will go free to play figures that are going around for subs are 800,000 and if those figures are to believed they will take per month on subs around 7 million which is around 86 million for the year plus the cost of buying the game which may have well been around 40 million. normaly an mmo will go f2p when it starts to fail, but taking around 130 million is not a game failing, but rather doing well, so i would say it will not go f2p

    In order:

    - Players on this forum were screaming for a loyalty reward system. It's more of a sign that the developers actually listen to the players than anything else.
    - OMG! Friends from the beginning of the game have quit! But new friends are joining! It's almost like there's a turnover in MMO population! Shock and consternation!
    - Absolutely irrelevant. But continue.
    - People asked for smaller campaigns to balance out population. Again, if you want the developers to respond to player input, don't spout ridiculous conspiracy theories about said response.

I believe Players been burned in the past by other MMOs. Some reason to cause fear in the players.

    1. 6 months subscription falling to the waist side
    2. Been lied to about the CP
    3. ESO being very silent the past 2 weeks

When you lie to your player base you lose credit. It can effect anyone or anything multiple ways in the future. The companies words hold little or no weight. Which I believe will cause players to panic and think the worst at all times.

People have been saying "It's going F2P" since BEFORE launch. It might one day, but not for at least a year or two after launch.
Seriously, in Beta people kept saying "no way this game launches with a sub fee, it's going F2P, just wait". :disagree:

I just did a google news search for "elder scrolls online" was curious about Xbox and ps release dates and it seems this is a result of poor media reporting and speculation. Every article was about "ftp" out of curiosity I read a couple of the articles.

It seems the logic is this:

Console version is to be released in 2015
    6-month sub disappears
To my recollection (I didn't search to confirm maybe someone else can) Microsoft is opposed to both additional subscriptions and their titles interacting with other game system networks.

I guess the argument could be made that if Microsoft doesn't want zos to do subscription on their network then it would be unfair to charge PC and PSN sub fees when Xbox players do not have to pay them. That said zos released that they had to design a completely different UI for consoles (perhaps console will indeed be F2P or B2P. Similar models are all over the Xbox live market place (thinking Forza, Halo, MTG etc... Expansion packs) where they nickle and dime you to death.

If that is the case I would rather see it remain PC only and remain subscription based.

Agree in 100%, i keep saying that MMORPGs should stay on PC. Game can be more complex.

At this moment we have poor UI that is designed for gamepads. Just look at that Quick Bar wheel. Maybe we could even have more skills slots on bar to play with.

Really? Did you know they were doing Open Beta around Christmas last year? Do you think that MAYBE MOST of the staff got the full TWO WEEKS OFF, (or maybe enough that they could not meet to formulate an answer to inane player presumptions fanned by tabloid game sites) so thats why they have been silent during the holidays? (except @ZoS_GinaBruno She seems to check the forums on days off and in the middle of the night.)

This moronic storm of "I am upset and ZoS must answer" attitude on 6-month subs and the Champion Points needs to go away.
