Yep, The 30 CP debacle. Most of my ingame friends/guildmates are pissed about this..

Screw over the max levels, thank you ZoS! /sarcasm

There are a good number of people I know as well that were planning on returning and changed their mind after ZoS changed theirs.

I also find it hard to believe that players will be able to gain as much experience towards CS points in pvp and at the same rate as compared to grinding or perhaps questing.

If that proves to be the case, I expect daily pvp population will drop even more due to folks grinding CS points.

That is of course assuming 1.6 is successful of which I am very doubtful.

One thing ZOS can do is to make the returning players equal to those of us who have continued playing the game through thick and thin.

    Oh, wait...

I'm sad to hear you left Hova. You were fun to play against.

In terms of the Festivus style airing of grievances against ZOS, I'd point out that most games aren't revising their game mechanics and engine as often - they're mostly adding new content. So I'm willing to cut ZOS some slack there. Not enough to cover how long it has taken to resolve some very big issues though.

How is the lag these days for everyone else? I haven't noticed any server side lag at Thorn for myself, but curious if others have had the same experience. That was my big beef with PvP the last little while.

Also re: 30 CP - boo fricken hoo. VR ranks are still in, so CP won't have been completely rolled out until they figure out how to phase them out. In the mean time you still do get an advantage from being VR14, so chill. Yeesh. Some people get so worked up over the smallest things.

I returned and I am all in on the champion system to replace the VR grind, so long as they really try to deliver on the pacing being equal in Cyrodiil. I don't mind being behind so long as I can work on catching up playing what I have fun playing.

That said; I would also be ok with those with higher VR levels than me getting extra champion points when the VR levels are completely eliminated. Didn't they say that the higher you go with those points, the less you get in return per point as to make it capable to catch up quicker? If thats the case, if all are starting with 30, I see no problem with players getting 1 point per VR level earned or 1 point for every 2 or something like that. Why not if it is designed to where we can catch up anyway?

At any rate; on to my selfishness. I just want to be able to get in and PvP with reasonable effectiveness and earn my way that way, rather than grind VR quests through PvE another couple levels every few months.

In fairness, also to get full value from the content they created by letting everyone play all 3 factions. Creating 3 entirely separate quest lines and having, at best, only 1/3 of the playerbase interact with them is a pretty bad return on their time investment. Cadwell's gold and silver is a cost-effective means to get extra value out of all that labor.

It maybe until late January till we see a patch release . But I look at it like this . Wat am I gonna do during winter N the riding season is poopy anyways ? Play Tor arenas ? Lotro PvMP ? Feather animae fight on Aion ? Or look at WOW graphics N read quest lines ? Nope . This is still my cup of tea right here . I'd rather sink my money into a MMO that I hope gets better because I like the franchise better then the others then sink my money into a MMO I already know I'll never get excited about .

I was never a fan of Midevil games until this one came out .Tried the beta on a whim N have been entertained ever since ...

I'm very new to PvP, but this is something I've already noticed.. and so I hope you are right! It is annoying having to play PvE quests in order to level up.. in order to play PvP more effectively. I sometimes play 2-3 hours in Cyrodiil and have enormous fun... and then realize I earned almost no XP, so I land up playing through 2 or 3 days of Cadwell's silver to try and level 1 Vet rank... all the while wishing I was playing in Cyrodiil.

most people don't do cadwells silver and gold because veteran content is boring as f***, i should know, as I actually sat down and did it all. I will not do it again until vet content recieves some actual incentive

There needs to be more objectives in pvp. Chasing keeps all day is boring and standing in a resource tower or choke point farming gets old.

The imperial city will spice things up for only a very short amount of time. Cyrodiil is massive, it's the biggest zone in ESO, and only about 5-10% is used, and that includes the areas where people are traveling from keep to keep.

There needs to be more stuff out in the wilds of Cyrodiil that allows players to do to aid their faction, Not to mention Cyrodiil seems a bit empty, or 'dry' for being right next to the main opening to Coldharbour, there is very little daedra out and about.

Yeah, would be nice to have some more life in the.. wildlife.

In fact, I think it would make transit on-foot to keeps and locales more fun and dangerous, if some PvE could get caught up in the PvP experience. Like getting into a small skirmish, then having the game trigger an event, like Worm Cultists summoning some Daedra through a Dark fissure or something. Or, a local bandit gang decides to join in on the action for loots and reasons. The scale and amount of NPCs/creatures spawned would like-wise scale off of the amount of players fighting each other. Currently, the game can calculate when a reasonable sized skirmish occurs.(gets pin-pointed on map) ZOS can use that same mechanic to then use RNG to have a chance of a random encounter to spawn nearby to join in and spice things up.

I get that Cyrodiil is -the- PvP of the game. But that's a cheap excuse for the overland of Cyrodiil to be so lifeless. We need some outside variables to shake things up. Rather then who's got the biggest zerg blob en route.

I am sure we will be seeing more people coming back soon with 1.6 (or ESO 1.0 w/e you want to call it lol). Also new players due to the Steam sale ;)

This was discussed before...iirc the best explanation I saw was that the Game launched unfinished, due to overrunning development phase and pressure from backers for a return on their investment.. They cobbled together whatever they had and launched as was. Veteran system was a last minute fill in, and probably never meant to last.

It's probably related to Cadwell's Silver and Gold. When playtesters started asking about being able to play the other faction's PvE zones, I figure that Veteran Ranks were slapped on to at least give some kind of character progression while doing the other faction's PvE zones.

Disclaimer: I know jack ***, I'm just guessing.
