Please give back the option to use a custom Avatar

Proof that we used to be able to do this lies in my Profile. You can see that my first Avatar was custom.

I really dislike being confined to a set of choices rather than being able to express myself as an individual.

So please consider giving us the option to have custom Avatars again. You don't have to keep them on your servers, just give us the ability to add a URL linking our chosen Avatar.

Thanks

Hi @Acidon‌ . To customize your avatar go to your profile page and click the "Add a Profile Picture", at the bottom of the list of ESO provided avatars you can " Select an image on your computer (2MB max):"

Click the "Choose file" and select the file from your PC.

    See next post.

@ZOS_AlvinM I don't see this option in my profile. There are no buttons at the bottom of the avatar list.

I also have no such option. I can select another from the list, I can remove my currently selected one, and I can save my selection.

There is no option to select image from computer or anything else for that matter. So I'm confused.

Hi @rosveen, @Acidon‌ Whoops, guess it's time to schedule an afternoon coffee break as well! Sorry for the confusion. We did allow custom avatars during beta, we've since added a large avatar pool that we continue to add to.

The only option I see is "Remove Picture" at the bottom of the Avatar list.

Tl;dr really weigh the fun you have in game vs the business practices you are supporting.

So I'm assuming that custom avatars will not be making a come-back then?

Would you allow us to submit one for approval?
Seems like more work, but the only reason I can see for this change is to remove the need to moderate avatars.
