Easter eggs:D

The cat named "Tellywelly Softrobes" is most likely owned by a mage who has a crush on Telenger the Artificer. Valaste, in her most delirious moments, calls Shalidor "Shally-dally-dorable" (thankfully, not to his face).

As for some mages originating from the Psijic Order, Shalidor and Galerion certainly do, as they opposed the Psijic Order and started the College of Winterhold and the Mages' Guild, respectively. Seeing how the Mages' Guild was founded in 2E 230, 350 years before the events of ESO, some older mages in the game would certainly predate the Guild and could have started out as Psijics.

Actually I got an interesting "Easter Egg" yesterday, at least I think it's an EE. I crafted a lot of "Consumate Shank and Potato Pie" yesterday and in addition to "Epic Provisioner" got "Iron Chef". Obviously one of the Dev's might have been a fan of the cult Japanese Cooking Show. I know I was/am.

    # edit You have got to be kidding me. [snip]? Really? An item in the game?

They don't really count as Easter Eggs, but some of the lorebooks are hilarious. The Lusty Argonian Maid is my favorite and has been in the game I think starting with Morrowind.
Foräois - Imperial Sorcerer of Ineptitude.
Widoch - Nord Dragon Knight of Ignorance.
Billy Bob - Dunmer Templar of Chicken and Noodles.

Here's a list of documented references to other things (i.e. Harry Potter, Tobuscus), and here's a list of references to older ES games.

My favorites are the book about the battle from the beta, the Harry Potter reference, and the fact that two of the default horse names are Sweetroll and Fishystick.

Thanks for the list of references :) I was about to post that I've talked to that Argonian chef in Jorunn's Stand and thought it could be a Seinfeld reference, and yeah, it is! I knew it! (No soup for you!^^)

If you place your cursor on your character on the login screen and spin it really fast it'll do a dizzy dance, or a face-palm action. Perhaps there's others I only saw those two.

You REALLY need to keep spinning him/her after that.

Speaking of which, if you change characters during that time, the other one will complete the spin and maneuver.

an easy one: blessed crucible= Mass effect
and of course the statues of humans in many daedra dungeons and places look like they came out of the Thriller video from Michael Jackson.

At some place there is a strangler fishing, see bottom link
I miss the adventures of the red missing box, not a real easter egg per say, but it became one of those things I was looking for ahead "when is the next one gonna appear and how"? Haven't seen it since months though:
(third photo of "other fun stuff" is the thriller statue and the fishing strangler is 7th close to Telacar ruins in Grahtwood)

This isn't an "easter egg" I don't think, but it's a "fun" thing that seems intentional: a crocodile reading a random book. If you move outside its range, it goes back to that spot.
(This is in south Greenshade, somewhere between Gathongor's Mire and Drowned Coast Dolmen.)

There's a named fox in Craglorn near Rahni'za. If you follow him as he run around he'll get close to a book worth reading.

While I love this topic, could you do me a favor and just write ***SPOILERS*** on the main title.

    Thanks. :)

On the subject, my favorite was actually "Maiq' the First". He explained his family history to us in beta.

I was the first in Beta to find him. You should have seen the forums light up when I told people he was in the game. :)

After a few weeks, they changed his name back to Maiq' the Liar.

    I'm not sure why.

Man, I wish I'd been here for that.

For anyone who has seen "Them" (or is it 'They Live' - its the one with Rowdy Roddie Piper) there is a guy in Daggerfall that says that he's here to fight and eat sweetrolls and he's out of sweetrolls. Yeah that probably dates me, but I thought it was so funny I kept walking back and forth to hear it again.
Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.
    ***
Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis

Yeah, but a lot of film/game makers liked it so much they included paraphrases of it in their films/games, so it's now a reasonably well-known pop-culture reference. I guess it is an EE though :) even though I originally groaned and walked away, thinking "another version?", when I heard it. Oh and it's "They Live". Now if only we could find goggles/glasses for a quest and see "them" everywhere :D while wearing the goggles.

I found an interesting unintentional easter egg I won't go too deep into it because I don't want to chance getting myself in trouble, but suffice it to say I have spotty internet sometimes and ESO doesn't always close when my internet connection drops.

Basically nothing triggers, including the fish that eat you for swimming too far. While I'm waiting for my connection to come back, I sometime just run around jumping from high cliffs and what not since damage doesn't trigger. Sometimes I got out of bounds and throw myself off the edge of the map.

One of the times on a map I'll leave undisclosed I found some map textures where the grass should have been along with some partially built buildings. Looks like stuff they started developing but put on hold... hence why I'm concerned at discussing the details of it without getting myself in trouble.

It really was some of the coolest stuff I've seen though.

If a mod like @ZOS_GinaBruno‌ says I can go into it I have screen caps and everything. But cool as it is, I'm not getting myself into trouble for it :p

Several months ago, my internet connection dropped all the time while playing ESO. I could run around and nothing happened, too, except for the times my character was dead already when the connection was back since it tended to disconnect in combat or at least near enemies (not always, though).

But, I wish I would have had the idea to check out the "behind the boundaries areas", too, this is awesome^^

And I really hope you won't get any trouble since it would be ridiculous. It was definitely the game which slowed down the connection (if it was not gone completely), so they better allow us to snoop around in return ;)

I think someone on the ZoS team is a Monty Python fan, from "Brave Sir Cadwell" found in Cadwell's Hollow:

    "Bravely bold Sir Cadwell
    Rode forth upon trusty Honor.

    He feared nothing in Coldharbour,
    Oh brabe Sir Cadwell.

He loved the land all blue and gray,
    Righting wrongs and saving days.

    Brave, brave, brave Sir Cadwell."

Replace Cadwell with Robin and imagine a guy with 3 heads :)

Yeah, some maps you can get behind the curtains, some are tightly patched up and blocked off to where you can't. Usually there's nothing of interest except a long walk, maybe get up on a high mountain of something for a nice view of the area or like I said go to the edge of the map and jump into the infinite fall and watch every slowly shrink and poof.

I wonder if I could get away with "If it's okay to talk about it don't say anything" XD I kid I kid.

I haven't been to that one, but since mods haven't stepped in to say yay or ney and apparently this has been in threads before.

I found Skingrad (from Oblivion). At first I thought I was about to have a creepypasta moment. I ran across what looked like some letters(large and on the ground). Then going a bit further there was a tombstone with RIP as a part of the ground texture. I thought maybe it was a hidden dedication to someone who might have passed during development or something.

After getting to a higher location I could tell it was the ground graphics replaced with a map. I've not seen this particular map image before but it looks like something from Arena/Daggerfall days.

I used a few of the discernable letters to find what it was a map of, and it happened it was a map of the area. Seeing a large wall I decided to go explore it.. It was a city o.O incomplete but it had buildings within the walls. There was even a fountain. No reason for it to be there, you can't even see it from normal areas. Then on the ground I saw letters and pieced it together as Skingrad There was some ruins and such to the west of it, I don't think it was intended to be Kvatch though, not sure what it was.

This kinda reminds me of Skyrim where you can get to see the White Gold Tower in Cyrodiil and the Red Mountain on Vvardenfell using tcl and tgm in the console window to get behind the boundaries. Very low res, though, and, unfortunately, no mysterious details like you found in ESO.

More a nice little detail than an easter egg:

In Stonefalls I came across an Argonian miner named Trouble-Finder.
    http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Online:Trouble-Finder

He seems to be talking about Mehrune's Razor.
