Does anyone excited about upcoming changes or all only want to whine?

Hi everyone. I watched recently and TBH I'm really exited about upcoming changes. It will be so awesome. But when I got to the forum I saw so much moaning topics.

Well, my main character is a tank. Hell, now I will be able to use my ult a few times in a boss fight. I remeber when I was in DSA first time and one guy gropped ult one after another and me on the opposite side dropping my ult onece or twice per round. Many of you feel like it's a big nerf to you but in my opinion ZOS just make all roles more equal and meaningful. A year or two ago I had an interesting course and lector said that all peolple afraid all new. It's ok. Everyone just need a little time. So, don't afraid this changes. Also, TBH I don't think ZOS devs will change their mind now. They have a plan what to do, and ZOS will test it on PTS first. You can't do anything with it.

Another "big deal" is the champion pionts. By the Eight, is that so important? I mean is it so frustrating to you to get the same amount of points? BTW ZOS didn't confirmed that all VR14 will also get the same amount, but even if it true - who cares? Anyway, you'll farm it more faster than most ESO players (and still get so little benefit from it). Maybe you feel it is not fair, that someone hit VR14 with 8 charactrs and get the same reward as a guy with only one VR1. Ok. But here is my question to you. Do you play for fun or for numbers? You have more powerful characters - more fun for you. If numbers the main reason you play - maybe you picked the wrong game?

Well, I'm aware of a few minor things, but anyway I think this update will bring more good that bad. And ZOS did a huge work. It's like Reaper of Souls for Diablo 3.
Make sweetrolls, not nerfs!

Am looking forward to the Champion System now more than at any point previously.

This episode of ESO Live did a lot to improve my view of the system.

I'm freaking STOKED about the changes! Most people complaining seem to be complaining about the 30 points given and the assumption that this will be ALL that is given.

I'd like to point out that though I don't believe they've been capable of tracking out progress, we won't be seeing any additional points beyond this threshold. That doesn't mean I'm going to assume that my belief is right and start crying about it yet, I have no proof to base this on and would only look like a yelling child throwing a temper tantrum when the time comes to fully remove VRs and we wind up with, say, 8 points per VR.

I'm excited about the different tanking possibilities out there, though I'm nervous about which ones will be viable for Trial tanking as Devs tend to never get this type of stuff right the first time around. We'll see. All in all, a thumbs up for me until it hits PTS.

Right now, it has to prove to me that it will or will not work. PTS won't offer enough time nor enough players to run proper testing through for my liking so I'll do what I can but it won't be enough until this all goes live. There's just no true incentive for people to get on PTS and test stuff out when ZOS has proven that every time we go and offer feedback they ignore the logic and go with the crying. Yep. Still bitter about Craglorn. They're going to have to win back a lot of love from that one.

The explanation by Maria helped me to realize how good the CS can be. I was always afraid that grinders who did use exploits would be miles ahead of me a legit gamer.

This however wont be the case and the playerbase will not be separated that much.

I'm very happy with the changes, they actually inspired me to resub during the stream.

This shows the company is not afraid to take brave decisions, much like the scrapping of VR in the first place.

The only thing that I would like them to do is rename 1.6 as 2.0, then all the whiners can stop, its a reset of the game, get over it. If you enjoyed your time playing, good for you, if you only did it to grind out Champ Points, then find some more rewarding thing to do with your spare time.

Only caught some of it, but what I've seen so far (will watch the rest later on) it looks like fantastic changes! The only thing I've got doubts about are the increased damage shields. The rest looks great - encouraging more diversity, much love for stamina.

Finally min/maxers will have to think about their roles rather than just grabbing a stick and a skirt.

I am excited but of course we play for numbers, part of the fun of games of any kind is the element of progression and reward. It is not unreasonable for people who have spent several hours a day for 8 months to build a good character to expect reward for that compared to someone who started playing last week.

To suggest that people play games just for the good of their souls is to ignore the competitive nature of people in general and the players of games in particular - you'd have to be especially naive to believe that people will be happy that the time they spent playing has been effectively reset however exciting the CP sustem might be in other ways.

I am dreading the change because ultimate generation no longer rewards good play. And this is coming from someone who *tanks* in PvE, and takes a lot of damage in PvP as well.

Changes are great, but it's about 2 month till i can really experience them on live server. And as far as i have to wait so long, i'm not excited by upcoming changes at all, all i want to is to whine about 30 Champion Points! I want to get Champion Points according my previous experience i learned in the game!!! I'm really sad, frustrated and feel deceived, and none of the news about upcoming changes can change it.

I've been working on a tanky build and have had little problem having my ulti ready when needed under the current sysyem.

I am excited about the champion system.

However, it's hard to be happy when I found out that my class was the only one not getting a new skill to replace a bad one (when it's the class with the most bad skills) and that a major part of mine and may magicka-based Sorcerer's playstyle (Critical Surge) was getting nerfed into uselessness.

So ya, there were some cool things in here, but the bad is simply over shadowing the good for me.

They did only say its not getting skills replaced. You can be quite sure terrible skills will be improved.

I only just started playing the game so changes are not going to appear that major to me because I don't actually know a lot about the current game anyway. The only questions I have is should I keep levelling my character and increase skills/ do research or should I wait until after the patch?!

Do what you enjoy, but don't feel any pressure to get above VR1 (level 50). If you achieve that, you have done as much as is recommended at this time, assuming we are reading the situation correctly.

Why whine really it is what it is, it is not even out yet, and I am sure changes will be made before it hits live, I like what I am seeing and looking forward to it, like all changes big or small there will lots of knee jerk reactions, to just the idea of new things, when it hits I might not like it I might love it, time and an open mind will give us those answers :)

Maybe the role of a tank is meaningful enough without having to use ultimate as often as the DPS in DSA just so that everyone has a warm cuddly equality feeling ? And maybe the role of the DPS was meaningful in DSA/Dungeons because he could also drop support/damage ultimate more often then the tank? I for one know that one of my roles when playing DPS NB in 4 player content is to put Veils under or in reach of the tank as often as possible. When I play as tank my role of keeping agro is meaningful enough and the role of ultimate is to make it out trough a major mishap.

Why the hell did I post in a whiny thread about people whining?

The problem is the upcoming changes will ruin many current builds, but we don't know enough about the new systems to think of alternatives.
Thus everything is chaos. Nevertheless, I'm excited.

Best course of action is to level our current builds for as long as they work and think of something new once Update 6 hits the PTS.

I am really looking forward to it all myself.

As one of the ESO people mentioned, there are so many changes this will be like "ESO 2.0". I believe I heard them state that the changes mentioned yesterday were just some of the changes. Didn't one say she has 26 pages of changes, and another added she has 15? I'm pretty sure the things mentioned yesterday were just a handful of the changes they like personally, and/or given a green light to talk about by the higher-ups. Paul Sage was probably sitting in his throne stroking M.A.D. Cat saying "They better not screw this up. ESO Live 'may' return after these messages..."

Of course, of all those pages, 35 of them could lead to Rome burning... we'll just have to wait and see. As someone who has been playing MMOs for several years, I have become used to something I like going away and some new things I don't like coming in. I just find a way to pick up the pieces and carry on.

I love everything mentioned about the CS and Update 1.6 but this (ult gen change), and I don't have a problem with people pointing out why and offering constructive criticisms and alternatives to address the underlying issues that prompted the new ult system. It isn't an either "love it all" or "hate it all" choice for such a larger, far-spanning update. For example, while I dislike the approach to changing ult gen, I've also posted about exciting things like a new DPS skill for Templars and one of the constellations from the CS and its passives.

The whining is immense on this one...

Almost as much as when people found out ZOS wasn't planning to make all zones available to all factions. People were whining like there was no tomorrow. Safe to say it turned out that ZOS was right and that people now hate the extra leveling zones.
Then the whine was almost as immense when people found out there were no first-person-camera. How many are using that now?

People should relax and go back to the game, after all you have 2 other factions to quest through in first person. Good luck!

Do you seriously have to bring up that you think grinding = exploiting in every thread? We get it. To add to that, those "exploiters" will still be miles ahead of you in less than a week even if everyone only receives 30 points.

To the OP, I like a lot of the changes. Although I do think ZoS needs to clarify some things. Leaving a large of amount of people upset is never a good thing(even if being upset is unjustified.)

    It's strange.

I've been a very critical user regarding TESO. I've lived a rollecoaster of emotions. I ressubed exactly because these incoming changes...So I really don't understand why is people complaining. I know it is because the 30 points for everybody thing, but I think this is normal. I played Age Of Conan some years and still playing sometimes and the alternate advancement for this game is more or less the same.

So, in my case, I'm here again because of these changes. I'm gonna continue playing with my VR4.
