Way too many quests in this game. such a great game, but make 1/4 of the quests, and boost the xp gains from PvP'ing, just random mob killing,...I'd love to just get a group of 4 together, go into a massive dungeon, and fight everything in an evening. Maybe some nights I'd do some solo questing, some nights some solo pvp'ing, some nights hanging with others doing group questing, and some nights just hanging out doing group grinding.

I just don't understand why Zos forces us to quest, and 95% of them being solo. It's very flawed. I'll never do an alt because of it, making the replayability of this game non-existent for me. They made leveling a very linear process...such a shame.

Not everybody lives for only PvP and/or groups. Yes groups and PvPare fun but I enjoy the quests and the solo PvE stuff also. ESO is trying to please all three types of players and will always seem unbalanced to one crowd or another.

Nope, ESO is only pleasing you here. I like solo mob grinding, I like group mob grinding, I like PvP. None of these are good ways to level.

Group mob grinding is about 10 times faster than questing for leveling.
1 Veteran Level (1,000,000 XP) in a bit over 1 hour.

Right, and you miss out an x number of skill points.
32 from zone questlines. Trust me, you can live without them. Skyshards can be gathered in an evening or two without doing a single quest, public dungeon challenges are best done with a group (see? something you like). I'll give you one thing: you'll probably want to do Cadwell's Silver to get access to the third zone. Again, no more than a couple of days.

Compared to 49 skill points from PvP ranks, 24 from group dungeons and 15(?) from Cyrodiil skyshards, I think the trade-off isn't nearly as bad as you describe it.

It's also extremely easy to level yourself ahead of the content by grinding then burn through the quests, it ends up being (entertainment wise) no worse than grinding mobs only instead of the xp you're grinding the quests for skill points.

That said I agree with the OP, the main quest rewards were kinda consistently terrible. The only vet rewards you have to look forward to are a few costumes and two of them look ridiculous. The armor you have when fighting molag bal would have made an awesome reward for finishing Cadwel's or at least some item that maybe has a unique cosmetic look or effect, Dawnbreaker (for example) would have been a wicked reward.

Yes. Even if you hate PvP and don't plan on doing it, if you go to Cyrodiil and at least do the tutorial (which involves no fighting and only takes a few minutes), that will get you 2 skill points and unlock the Alliance skill line.

Clearly, most of you posting on here either have never played the TES predecessors or you're forgetting them. Bethesda has never had great or even good end quest loot - especially, main storyline quest loot in any of their games.

Remember Oblivion? Yeah, thanks for the Champion armor that is way subpar to the daedric armor I'm currently wearing that I pulled off some bandit I killed.

Or Skyrim? Hell, I don't even remember getting anything after killing Alduin and saving the world of Tamriel yet again!

The only thing worth anything in Morrowind was Azura's Star and it was a one time use. The fact that you could kill and soul trap Vivec made it worth it.

Daggerfall just threw gold at you when you completed quests. Of course, a decent house that was permanently bare in Wayrest cost over 900,000 gold in that game, so, they gave you a fair amount of gold.

Sooooo, what were you expecting? LOL

On topic: there's no meaningful reward, cutscene or interaction because Cadwell's quests were tacked on when the devs realized people want to be able to go everywhere with one character. All interactions with Cadwell after defeating Molag Bal are just for the sake of giving us some throwaway explanation why nobody treats us like an enemy.

Keeping that in mind, I think I'd be more satisfied if finishing all Cadwell's quests wasn't an objective at all and like other mentioned earlier, experiencing other alliances was a reward in itself. To be honest, receiving nothing would have felt better than getting a worthless necklace and a laughable amount of XP. They could have at least made the necklace ornate. ;) But no, it was presented as an impossibly long questline, so naturally everyone expected something nice. Shouldn't have made all that build-up...

Oblivion was the best, I got a statue. :D

Bethesda isn't working on this game, so their past habits are meaningless. This is one TES tradition ESO could do without.

Hmmm the goal is not to rush to the end content. How boring is that!
It's the journey. Seeing the NPCs, doing the quest, learning the lore.

It's your $15/mo - play it how you want, but I refuse to grind anomolies and mobs to reach VR14 just so I can sit around in Zone Chat and forums and complain about nothing to do.

PVE-only players miss out on the 50 skillpoints received from PVP levels, yet they're not complaining about those.
This thread is about the reward for the main quest, the one that demands 100+ hours of play time. The PVP equivalent would be the emperor title with a shiny costume and permanent buffs.

I don't PvP. Tried it a few times. Don't like it. I either feel like a bully or feel like I'm just dying to help someone's PvP score. Neither are fun.

The only thing I want from Cyrodiil are the sky shards. I'll put a point into the skill tree to get quests from there, if they don't involve me having to kill other players.

I've found the mindset of the typical PvP'er is one of a rude person. They tend to call other people "noob" in chat, laugh at their gear and hate having to invest more than 5 seconds into a task (i.e. a quest).
"Just give me moar noobs! I R 733t!"

Ya know what? People like that can just *** off

You saw the topic. You read the post. You entered text in Leave a Comment. And took pains to make it a negative, sarcastic comment.

    In short, you do ;)

I do care, I care about the community and the game. I care that this is such a huge issue. I care that these forums are basically a flood of nonsense troll posts like this one. I care that it has turned me into more of a troll.

But, you're wrong, I didn't read the post. I looked at the pictures and filled in the blanks. When I saw a screen cap of the reward instantly being deleted, no dignified response was needed.

Well there's always been at least two main motives at play:

    1. Gaming as catharsis - an almost hypnotic release from analog world cares.

People seeking this would find a story quest system with a bloated word count something between undesirable and unendurable.

    2. Gaming as an alternate life employing an alternate identity.

This is escape via a different route entirely. And all those things that drive the former group NUTS only deepen the love the latter folks feel.

Both are seeking the same thing. That's what makes it interesting....and maddening if you're responsible for pleasing both.

... and yet the ending of the main veteran quest pleases neither one group nor the other. No loot. No fireworks. No sight of Meridia or one of your former NPC companions. Just a damp cave with Cadwell delivering 3 short sentences.

I don't think Cadwell turning into a Dragon would have worked, but some variation in the faction stories would have been nice, as would a decent reward.

I think a revamped version of the Prismatic weapon would have been nice, since the one we get in the game is good for about ten minutes (by which time I've reached level 50, and equiped VR1 gear).

Just my 2 cents on this topic:

Considering the amount of time and work it takes to complete Cadwell's gold, and the fact that you can only do it 1 time per character, I'm rather astonished that the reward pales in comparison to gold DSA and trials rewards that you can farm over and over. It makes me wonder if someone needs a different job title at ZOS.

Another way that this anticlimactic ending to the drudge through Cadwell's Silver and Gold would could worked in approximately the same number of lines:

Cadwell: "Oh... look here. You've made it and in one piece too! That's good because I received a letter some time ago addressed to you."

Cadwell clears his throat and then reads in a stately manner a note he's pulled from under his hat: "SUCKER! signed, Uncle S."

Cadwell frowns and says inquisitively still looking at the note, "Hmmm... that's interesting now isn't it. I wonder who this Uncle S fellow is."

He looks up at you from the note without a second thought about it: "Well there you go... no lasting glory, no lasting fame, not even the proverbial cookie... well maybe i can help with that. I guess you can take this. It's never done me much good and been taking up space in my bag far too long.

[You receive a piece of junk necklace.]

Good job and good luck. I'm off to find some real adventure. I suppose you should stay probably here."

Cadwell disappears in a poof and you're left alone in the harborage.

Everyone knows the phenomenon of trying to hold your breath underwater - how at first it's alright and you can handle it, and then as it gets closer and closer to the time when you must breathe, how urgent the need becomes, the lust and the hunger to breathe. And then the panic sets in when you begin to think that you won't be able to breathe - and finally, when you take in air and the anxiety subsides...that's what it's like to be a vampire and need blood.

Sad excuse for content really, ooo k you have finished the main story quest, and the mage and fighters guild quests for your faction,
so lets send you to the other factions zones you know the enemy, and grind through all of their quests, and repeat the same main story and mage/fighters guilds quests all over again, two more times ! Sad really,

They and whats even worse every alt you re roll all have the same main story, mage, fighters guild quests, they should have had some of their Design team play Star wars the old Republic, another heavy story driven quest game,

Except every class and faction, all have completely different main story quests, and you can group up with others doing the same instanced class quests, or do them solo , thus adding replay value because the main story quests isn`t the same. unlike here.
