A few days ago, I finished Cadwell's Gold on my 2nd character. Now I'd like to share this success with the world and show the amazing rewards that questing brings.
This thread is in no way sarcastic.

My character inside the Harborage, about to speak to Sir Cadwell.
veIJzPD.jpg

Sir Cadwell congratulates me for this achievement.

I received a magnificent piece of jewelry, crafted by Meridia herself.
CJCfGkn.jpg
With this reward, I also got 4990XP, which is almost 0.5% of a Veteran Level. Thanks @ZOS!

That jewel now holds a very special place in my heart.

But it's not over yet, the daedric princes are always scheming, and I'll be watching for their appearances, always ready to defend Tamriel. Maybe I'll get more gifts from Meridia too! :)

Wololo.

I can't wait until the Champion system removes Vet ranks and when we hit 50 we can finally get that level 40 ring we have been needing to destroy inside the fires of Mt. Doom.

Can somebody please make the graphic of the "One Ring to Rule Them All" and have it be level 24? and green? I'd put that in my sig all day, every day, in every forum I'm in.

The reward for completing Cadwell's Silver was much better.......Access to the third Alliance zones and all the skyshards and skill points contained within.

    You did Cadwell twice?

Hopefully you did not expect different results. That said, you did Cadwell twice?

If you just stick to the Caldwell's quests, doing them multiple times for the skill points is not so bad. Doing all the quests in each zone multiple times..... I'd rather stab my eyeballs out.

I care. Most people care. The reward is outlandishly underwhelming.

Underwelming indeed. Just like defeating Molag Bal; no attribute or skill points, just some gold and a useless staff.

Sorry for the double post, friends.

Yeah, it's a let down but it feels like one put together in haste and it's great that you found humor in it.

The reason, of course, that it's such a disappointment is because the story driven portion of this game is so good at handling the BIG MOMENTS so well. That's why this feels like something wholly outside what they planned. Otherwise we'd see a visit by the surviving Companions (except Abner - silly name for a "heavy" - Tharn, of course) and the ghost of the one you picked to die.

But the game moves on and finds its way. I do hope they revisit this as part of it doing so. Yes, as badmojo's sneer implies, this is old news to the original bunch of ESO players who madly piled in in April.

But many of those are on to the next thing. New players are arriving all the time. I'd rather they have something more awaiting them. Few will greet the ending with the humor that Gyudan did ;)

This reward never bothered me (nor did the one for Cadwell's Silver). The reward for completing Gold isn't just the necklace or the 4990 XP; it's the XP and gear you get by completing all the quests in Cadwell's Almanac, and that's a pretty big reward.

When vet ranks will be gone, I expect it to be much better since you will be on max level. So you can just go through main quests for skillpoints quickly then do other quests later for champ xp.

That's what I'm doing, all quests in all zones with several characters. Even the PvE quests in Cyrodiil. I was told "this is hardcore" by another player already, but I just want to complete things :)

I would have liked something unique, cosmetic, exclusive for taking the time to complete all that. A pet, costume, or even a title... Something. It would have been nice.

The "rewards" for the major storyline quests are deeply underwhelming. That needs to change. And they SHOULD include unique costumes and useable trophies that fit the theme of the quest as well. How I would have loved to have "kept" the armor that was bestowed upon me in my final quest to defeat Molag Bal for instance!

Although it would have been nice to get some special reward other than a cheesy gold necklace, I think the thing that bugged me the most was how anti-climatic the end of Gold was story wise. ZOS could have done so much with that like a final quest with Cadwell, Meridia, remaining Companions, etc. Instead, it was "Here's your neckless. Don't let the door hit you in the arse on the way out." :)

I like the idea of seeing the companions again at the end of Cadwell's Silver and Gold. I think that this quest, being the highlight of veteran content, deserves a better treatment from @ZOS. The solo dungeons are being improved, maybe the main veteran quest deserves some love too.

Way too many quests in this game. such a great game, but make 1/4 of the quests, and boost the xp gains from PvP'ing, just random mob killing,...I'd love to just get a group of 4 together, go into a massive dungeon, and fight everything in an evening. Maybe some nights I'd do some solo questing, some nights some solo pvp'ing, some nights hanging with others doing group questing, and some nights just hanging out doing group grinding.

I just don't understand why Zos forces us to quest, and 95% of them being solo. It's very flawed. I'll never do an alt because of it, making the replayability of this game non-existent for me. They made leveling a very linear process...such a shame.

Not everybody lives for only PvP and/or groups. Yes groups and PvPare fun but I enjoy the quests and the solo PvE stuff also. ESO is trying to please all three types of players and will always seem unbalanced to one crowd or another.

PVE-only players miss out on the 50 skillpoints received from PVP levels, yet they're not complaining about those.
This thread is about the reward for the main quest, the one that demands 100+ hours of play time. The PVP equivalent would be the emperor title with a shiny costume and permanent buffs.
