32 from zone questlines. Trust me, you can live without them. Skyshards can be gathered in an evening or two without doing a single quest, public dungeon challenges are best done with a group (see? something you like). I'll give you one thing: you'll probably want to do Cadwell's Silver to get access to the third zone. Again, no more than a couple of days.Way too many quests in this game. such a great game, but make 1/4 of the quests, and boost the xp gains from PvP'ing, just random mob killing,...I'd love to just get a group of 4 together, go into a massive dungeon, and fight everything in an evening. Maybe some nights I'd do some solo questing, some nights some solo pvp'ing, some nights hanging with others doing group questing, and some nights just hanging out doing group grinding.
I just don't understand why Zos forces us to quest, and 95% of them being solo. It's very flawed. I'll never do an alt because of it, making the replayability of this game non-existent for me. They made leveling a very linear process...such a shame.
Not everybody lives for only PvP and/or groups. Yes groups and PvPare fun but I enjoy the quests and the solo PvE stuff also. ESO is trying to please all three types of players and will always seem unbalanced to one crowd or another.
Nope, ESO is only pleasing you here. I like solo mob grinding, I like group mob grinding, I like PvP. None of these are good ways to level.
Group mob grinding is about 10 times faster than questing for leveling.
1 Veteran Level (1,000,000 XP) in a bit over 1 hour.
Right, and you miss out an x number of skill points.
Oblivion was the best, I got a statue.Darkrogue671 wrote: »Clearly, most of you posting on here either have never played the TES predecessors or you're forgetting them. Bethesda has never had great or even good end quest loot - especially, main storyline quest loot in any of their games.
Remember Oblivion? Yeah, thanks for the Champion armor that is way subpar to the daedric armor I'm currently wearing that I pulled off some bandit I killed.

This thread is about the reward for the main quest, the one that demands 100+ hours of play time. The PVP equivalent would be the emperor title with a shiny costume and permanent buffs.

1. Gaming as catharsis - an almost hypnotic release from analog world cares.
People seeking this would find a story quest system with a bloated word count something between undesirable and unendurable.
2. Gaming as an alternate life employing an alternate identity.
This is escape via a different route entirely. And all those things that drive the former group NUTS only deepen the love the latter folks feel.
Both are seeking the same thing. That's what makes it interesting....and maddening if you're responsible for pleasing both.
Story aspect was a huge disappointment. I didn't care about the reward or XP, but some shock and awe would have been nice - like Caldwell turning into a dragon and flying you over all the capitals in a cut scene.
At least the lore community would have something to talk about.AlexDougherty wrote: »Story aspect was a huge disappointment. I didn't care about the reward or XP, but some shock and awe would have been nice - like Caldwell turning into a dragon and flying you over all the capitals in a cut scene.
I don't think Cadwell turning into a Dragon would have worked, but some variation in the faction stories would have been nice, as would a decent reward.
