Please, Nightblades are best damage dealers at the moment.

Ok lets go with your made up numbers just for fun.
So, 1.4m...they could run Zos for 18 months without a single sub. They where given 300m. Plus the money they made from Oblivion and Fallout 3....its not like they came into this thing broke. They could suffer extremely low numbers for quite a while before the needed to panic.
Bethesda isn't making this game, ZOS is an entirely new company owned by Bethesda's parent company Zenimax which allowed them access to the IP and assets. That said, I gave them $60 twice for the game and I pay two monthly subscriptions so if they decided to start asking for $5 more each month I would say thanks but no thanks.
It has nothing to do with whether I can afford that or not, but more about the fact that a $20 monthly experience just isn't happening here. There are f2p titles that provide consistent value only on the earnings of cosmetics and other stuff and seem to have a faster, more efficient dev cycle. Having an influx of additional funding wouldn't change any of the problems they're having (imo). And the 4-6 week updates? They could actually get those out and use most of those updates as small quality of life updates, that add in small batches of content not directly related to dungeons, pvp, or other PvE in the game world. They could add shield and weapon dyes, renaming weapons and armor, and more small item that would require some art assets and someone to plug them in.
If they got instanced housing put in, they could add regular batches of content that affects the housing such as new decorations, mini games, whatever, but that would require more work than just a couple people, but once the base was built it seems easy to add small stuff in consistently.
No, he's suggesting 'pay to play, pay more to make it work properly'.Pay to play, pay more to win?
