What does ESO have that no other MMO has?

Besides the franchise of TES I mean?
I think one thing is the really nice graphics and polished ABS...
One thing ZoS has is "The Immersion Factor"

I mean the great graphics, npcs, wonderful stories and quest make it already one of the most immersive mmo's in my book.

They are adding in things to make the game feel more immersive. Like the eso justice system.

And I'm really happy that they are focusing on immersion as one of there main things. One of the big things they did for updates with me was making the first-person feel more real.

I hope ZoS keeps focusing on making the game feel even more immersive while still keeping the game balanced and fun. They are doing a wonderful job.

Agree that the graphics and artistic input generally are really excellent. But for me the best thing is that this is the first game I've played where the combat felt convincing (I'm speaking as someone who used to fence foil, epee and sabre when an active sportsman). I'm struggling to put my finger on exactly why this is, but the effect is real enough.

I agree I love the ABS system in this game its very well designed. If you are skilled in it you can own!

    Khajiit.

Of course, some games have similar things to khajiit, like Charr (whom are also smexy) or Cathar (whom are almost as smexy but lack the tail for it), but nobody else has Khajiit.

    Play the way you want.

No, really. I get the most fun out of trying whacky builds, or builds that fit my story of my particular character at that time. If it looks good and I'm having fun playing it, it's good enough for me. I couldn't care less about FOTM, "u r doing it wrong, dude" attitudes. I get to be efficient at work, so in my play time, I want quirkiness, originality, and fun. Even failing is fun without consequences. That's the essence of playing.

ESO's no sandbox by any means, but compared to the class corsets (or straightjackets) other MMOs put you in, it offers a relatively huge degree of freedom of choice. No "oh, so you're class X? Sorry, you only get to wear this kind of armor, you can only use this narrow selection of weapons, you can only have these meagre spells" at all.

I'm super pumped for the upcoming spell weaving system, or whatever it's called.

It does not have a cash shop. That alone makes the game better than 99% of MMORPGs.

I think a special mention should go to the armor. Or more specifically, how armor doesn't all of a sudden become a bikini or something the moment it gets put on a female. Then there is also the fact that the armor is more....how shall I say? Befitting of the setting (I was tempted to say realistic, but I know someone was going to say "its a fantasy game!"). No wings of fire, no glowing swords and no overly flamboyant chainmail of aetherial hoohah; just honest metal and stalwart craftsmanship (plus enchants).
I'm sure some other MMO had something like this, but I don't really recall which...

I also second the idea that ESO has put more emphasis on the story factor than most MMOs. The stories are (mostly) well written, the voice acting passable (and actually amazing for certain characters) and the quest lines themselves more interesting with the fact that there is story connected to it.

I recently played another MMO based on a game I liked and the game was literally a never ending pile of go there and kill 6 of X then return.

ESO has good looking, voice acted, interesting NPCs with a wide variety of quests some of which I really have enjoyed. For example I loved the Balroth missions in Stonefalls and also anything with Darien Gautier or Naryu Virian is fun and enjoyable. I generally think AD sucks but its one redeeming feature is Raz.

I also agree with the previous poster that ESO really is "play the way you want". Now it isn't play the way you want and be as good as the FOTM builds but certainly you can do 1-50 with some really wacky characters. I just hit level 20 with my pacifist sorc healer character who has never cast an offensive spell and while a massive challenge it has been a ton of fun playing her.

    1. Voice acted quests that aren't "fetch 500 of these" and "kill 8,000,000 of these."
    2. It might not be open world but zones are massive, and the world is huge. Unless you're entering dungeons or teleporting in which case you'll encounter the dreaded loading screens, you can explore entire zones with uninterrupted gameplay. I still wish they could make all of the zones available right now seamless...that would be amaze-balls. :)
    3. UI is simplistic and not a cluttered mess.
    4. Fantastic combat. Even though I used to hate that fact that you can only have 5 abilities slotted at a time, it's grown on me. It allows you to create interesting combinations and strategies (and I only have to use 5 buttons on my MMO gaming mouse instead all 12 which can be really annoying). I can also be a stamina-heavy 2H build, then switch over to a magicka-heavy staff build without having to create an entirely new character.
    5. Mega-server, instead of having 12 different empty channels.
    6. Running into random RP pretty much anywhere in the world while questing/leveling. Makes me much more immersed in the game, having a thriving RP community to keep it alive.
    7. Soon-to-be open world PvP in update 1.7 or 1.8.
    8. In a similar vein as #7, constant huge updates. Justice System, Champion System - who knows what we'll see a year from now? Underwater swimming? Housing? Boats/sailing/naval combat?
    9. Beautiful vanilla graphics (even though I use SweetFX).
    10. A company that listens to players' concerns, suggestions, which can be tough because everyone's divided about everything and having to deal with the heat of upsetting some players while pleasing others.

There are definitely certain aspects that need improvement (combat is still pretty clunky, lag in PvP, grouping system, being stuck in infinite loading screens) but ESO has pretty much ruined every other MMO out right now for me. Can't even play FFXIV. Tried to go back to Archeage and almost threw up in my mouth. ESO has an incredible amount of potential and I am uncontrollably excited to be along for the ride and see where this game will be years from now.

And hopefully it won't go FTP because we know how that always works out.

Female armour that doesn't look like a heterosexual nerd's wet dream.

I wish I could agree with that 100x. With the exception of the pieces given to you as VR, female gear isn't treated like its only here to appease male players. Its a small step, but greatly appreciated :)
If options weren't necessary, and everyone played the same way, no one would use addons. Fix the UI!

ESO has "mages" (yeah... "bathrobe & broomstick" types)... far too many of them.
