If ESO had a cash shop for vanity items, what do you think would be in it?

EvE is there waiting for me always, i just dont wanna leave tamriel because its infested with ridiculous anime-themed guarcrap that is always implemented to appease the lowest common denominator.

Yes. EvE online has an item shop, but it does not influence how the game feels. You can by clothing for your pilot but they have no influence other than your pilots profile picture. You dont "see" that. As for PLEX - it was a smart move of killing ISK-farmers and invigorating the economy. You still can't paint your ship pink and make it shoot plush toys.

In MMORPGs item shop always goes down to "funny lel-kek-awmygawd-so-kawaii" items. That visually ruins the game with so much candy my teeth rot by just logging in.

Indeed and as I suggested, the only things I'd want to see in our currently available ESO Store are vanity/utility items in which some are available to earn in game as well for those who have the time to play. I'm no fan of pink mounts but it doesn't effect my game negatively in any way so if they added pink mounts (yuk) to the Cash Shop I wouldn't be against it. However, if they added gear in any way I'd protest loudly. Or if they had an option to unlock a new playable Race that only could be purchased via the Cash Shop, I think ZoS would have a player revolt, and I'd be right there with my picket sign.

Long and short of it, vanity/utility things don't effect any player's game negatively. Pay wall things suck and should be left to F2P games.

    transmute

That's the word I was looking for. I forgot that's the real term for the item fusion.
However transmute is free like recolor. Character redesign might cost money in some games, barber typically just cost gold.

Using WOW as template, special services like server, faction or race change cost money, this is explained that its stuff who is outside of gameplay and might requre support.

Both eso and wow has mounts in cash shop, pets or costumes is other typical cash shop items in premium games.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

Oh, and to the Op, @darkspyro92_ESO, Perfect World is rubbish. I hate that company, I hate almost every game they have. I hate that they are doing damage to STO regularly. F2P is a great way to throw a good game into the toilet, and swirl it around in the sewage.

But once again, power houses like WoW have had a Cash Shop for YEARS that includes Name, Race, Faction changes (all utility) as well as (more recently) vanity crap like Mounts, Pets and none of those affect player's gameplay and WoW has a sub fee. People using this excuse as a crutch for why ZoS shouldn't include vanity/utility items because they pay a sub in ESO are making a poor analogy.

Oh, I didn't know WoW had that. Personally I don't care if someone has a rabbit that costs 100 euros as their pet in game, but it just seems scarily close to the F2P model.

Vanity crap is okay, I think.. But if it's too "flashy" (flying dragon mounts eugh) then please no.

Well, if ESO gets purchasable content, at least we'll get some GUI changes...

There'll be little icons all over the screen that will instantly take you to the menu for buying things... there won't even be a loading screen! There will be flashing colors and hot buttons and all kinds of trickery to make you accidently buy something you don't want... right in the middle of combat!

Just like all the other games with cash shops...

Me canceling my sub. I have said this multiple times and will say it again. Sub or cash shop. Pick 1.

Pretty much. If they implement things you can buy in game that give even the slightest advantage to people who pay, I'm out.

Nobody is asking ZoS to add content to the already available cash Shop. Utility items like Name/Race/Faction changes and maybe some different mounts/pets/other vanity items are all I've seen anyone say they'd be fine with.

I will be leaving if they bring out paid for content such as new areas, payable races, new abilities or increased levels.
Paying for extras such as pets and mounts does not bother me, so long as their "equals" are available for in game money. For Example, I don't care if someone gets to ride a senche, so long as it functions the same as a horse. If the Senche mount can fight, then they should allow horses to fight too or allow the senche to be bought in game for gold.

I pay my subs, so therefore I should be getting the whole game. Subs should pay for the development of the game, before and after launch.

World of Warcraft had something like DLC which were updates that added more content (but you had to buy them), and Neverwinter has things you can get with cash as well (but that's Perfect World for you), so if Elder Scrolls Online had some kind of purchasable content, what do you think would be added? A new race? A new class? An alternate dimension? I want to hear what the minds of the players think when they think of the ZO devs creating something you would buy with cash for ESO.

Edit: I also wouldn't support this if they did something like this unless it was like how WoW did it in a sort of update fashion. I do not support any form of Pay to Win as it ruins the game for others. This is merely a question to see what others would think the cryptic devs could devise.

Wow has no DLC, unless you think a pet or Mount is Content :o

What WOW has are Addons and they are to be expected and needed in an MMO. I have not yet seen an MMO without them.

What an expansion has is usually a new class, a new continent, professions or housing.

And again, whom exactly is asking for CONTENT or GEAR to be added to the ALREADY AVAILABLE Cash Shop in ESO, nobody. You are also far too late on the "No Cash Shops, no nickel and dime me to death" bandwagon, that rolled out maybe 3-4 years ago when just about all MMO's added micro transactions to their game, thanks to Blizzards overwhelming success with theirs in WoW, which is a SUB based game.

I don't care what WoW does or don't do. ESO is not WoW or it should be so called "standard" (just another name for a WoW clone). I want ESO to be different. IMHO, ESO has to much a cash shop as is and I do not want any more gas added to that fire. I will be very happy, if the cash shop is reduced. (I know I am dreaming about that, but still will make me very happy to see even smaller or no cash shop of any kind)

    2. No G.I.R.L.S (Guys In Real Life) with final fantasy spiky haircut and anime-schoolgirl vanity outfits riding a kawaii pink squirrel/little pony hybrid mounts with pink rainbow fairies following them doing a disco dance.

It would still be related to ESO, obviously.

I also think maybe adding large houses (if they add houses) to a cash shop. I'd be okay with a tower that had a dragon flying around it. I certainly wouldn't be a Princess and I certainly wouldn't be trapped at the top.

Didn't read the entire thread. This has probably been mentioned already, but my thoughts are this:

I feel that everything in the game should be attainable with a subscription and a little effort. Cash shop plus sub just looks like pure greed, and straight F2P/Cash shop almost always equates to pay to win.

If you are paying a subscription, then you should have access to everything in the game. Should it be handed to you? No. Should you have to work for it? Yes. But you should never have to pay extra for it.

That's just the way I feel about it.

I don't want to be in a position where I would have to pay money to get the look and feel of my character the way I want it.

I might be open to buying vanity pets but I would prefer a expansion with new content to be purchased.

Add in things like the ability to equip my horse with armor and have mounted combat. Maybe even add in a ability to trample and kick with the horses in a realistic way.

I love the crafting system the way it is because from what I can see we can put the stats in the way we want, pick the traits and set the look. On top of that the armor and weapons look awesome right now.

I can't say how I would like for it to be improved right now but I don't think it would be drastic. Maybe introduce a socketed gem system and introduce jewel crafting to make the gems. I'm not sure if it would be a new trait or in addition to the traits and enchantment slots.

Anyways if the developers need more money I'm open to an expansion for this game. Keep up the good work devs.

From your perspective it would then be ok to have a cash shop as long as the items were lore friendly and didn't get into the ridiculous nature of other games (Tera for example). I don't think they would bring in anything to unlore friendly as they have made a point to mention they are avoiding RL holidays for that reason (which I think would come first over cash shop costumes breaking lore).

I personally like how they have been doing their "cash shop" so far. Where they are selling real products and giving in game bonuses with those products. It is nice seeing something that isn't all tied to the game (some will disagree with me as they have extraordinary shipping fees and might just want the bonus item). For me I wouldn't mind cosmetic items (not lore breaking) if they were going to add one. I would prefer that things stay as is but understand if they do add more "cash shop" items, as I am still paying the same fee as I was paying years ago, when I know wages have gone up/cost of living has gone up/ a lot of other expenses that could influence the production cost of these games.
