Game crashes for one character

On the Daggerfall quest to enter the ships to find assassins hidden in crates. Game crashed loading that character; will load others, but always crashes on that one specifically. Tried verifying game files, rebooting system, and rebooting with only the wireless driver service enabled. None of these things fix it.

pema✭✭✭these issues are best adressed via a ticket. That way they can verify you and then send the char to a safe location. so if you havnt done so and have this problem, submit a ticket.0 -
I had the same issue, support told me to create a new character, get him outside of Cold Harbour, then log off and try the one that is crashing. This worked for me.0

Fairydragon3✭✭✭✭apparently the phase or "shard" is bugged, as well as a couple of other areas. I don't think it affects all the shards for that quest though0

✭If a single character is not loading correctly, but your others are please either post the character name here or contact our Support Team directly so that they can check on your character and figure out what's going on with them.
If you can't load any of your characters, this is likely a different issue. Basic troubleshooting steps for this scenario are to add eso.exe, the launcher, and account.elderscrollsonline.com as exceptions to your firewall/anti-virus programs. If you still can't load in, resetting your router or modem may help. If neither of these solutions help you, our Support Team will be happy to provide you with more specific troubleshooting steps.0 -
mobihci✭I have tried this out a few times, so it is repeatable. this will crash for me ONLY on a character that has that quest. it is a quest related/phasing issue.
one character i tried just would not progress, it would crash at login (of that character) at the entry to the ship.
there are two ways that fix this-
1- wait for another player on the same quest to pass through the door to the ship, then follow them directly after.
2- get another alt or create one at daggerfall, then send them to the ship and enter the door, note that it will not crash because you dont have the quest. log out of that character, then log in to the one with the quest and it will progress without a crash.
it may still crash on the way out as the phase changes again, but once moved on it will not crash again.
this problem will happen again. there are a couple of quest/phase change areas that will cause a crash EVERY time (eg- one at dreughside)
note also that this problem does not show one everyones game experience, this problem shows as empty crates and no way to progress for others, so it is in the way the phases are handled (multithreading?)0 -

Back in Auriel's Bow 1.0, I have thought that the best way to handicap a faction with the HUGE pop advantage is to temporarily disable their grouping functionality and their ability to fight in 3rd person point of view!
