Why can I get chain "Talons-ed" after I dodge roll?

Seriously, I'd like to hear an answer to that. Who thought that was a good idea?

When I break free from a stun, I am immune to stuns for a certain duration. When I dodge roll out of Talons (or Purge them, whatever), I should not be vulnerable to getting rooted again for a similar amount of time. It's only logical, and 100% fair. There is absolutely no reason for anyone to get chain rooted like that, it is a ridiculous mechanic and needs changing. Same thing with the Sorc root.

Retreating Maneuver is only useful getting into and out of fights due to it's high cost and the importance of stamina in fights. Dodging has a high cost unless you wear full medium (and yes I do wear some medium to help with the cost and it's still quite high). Immovable does not work against snares. You can Purge Talons but then you can just be rooted a second later.

Please change this.

    something similar happened yesterday. i could have sworn i got double-talon'd by 2 dragon knights. I dodge rolled out of the first talons and while i was rolling, there were still talons attached to me and after this roll the stun from the second talons kicked in and i had to dodge roll again. It really seemed as if both talons were simultaneously active and it took 2 dodge rolls to get out of them.

    If so, this really shouldn't be possible and needs to be fixed.

    I completely agree. I also think it would be nice if there was passive in the medium armor that granted a chance to avoid the effects of a root. They could add a similar passive to heavy armor for stun. It would make those armor types a bit more appealing.

    Oh god....the DK are coming and going to tell you to L2P against their OPness. I'm a sorc and I can agree with this. But if it happened one of the 2 means to stop DK is now gone. Screw it lol FIX EM BOTH! Oh wait.....only sorcs are gonna get fixed more than likely.....

    That's why they nerfed the 2h charge root, instead of fixing Root immunity, so DKs could be the master talon race.

    Weekly reminder: Chain root needs to go. There is a reason virtually every other MMO out there added diminishing returns or outright immunity.

    It's a DK, they it's company policy - The love for DKs as the the all around class, dps, cc, self heals and protection will never stop, same goes for the fitting cool stuff as the fire horse.

    Seems fair. CC break makes you immune to stuns for a few seconds, so rolling should make you immune to roots for a few seconds.

    the difference is what root does in comparison to the other CC's. Root and Snares are soft CC's, meaning they cause some sort of inhibiting factor but still leave the player in control of their character otherwise (you can cast spells, block, dodge roll, drink potions, ext) Hard CC's like stun and fear take away your control from your character. When you are CCed you are basically a sitting duck till you get out.

    the design concept sounds very sound to me. Get immunity from things that prohibit your abilities, but not from ones that just prohibit your movement.

    Shuffle or forward momentum would do the trick. They work great in many situations.

    I always considered talons the most powerful ability in the game. As a templar that wants to tank, I have nothing remotely as effective as this. In PvP, the ability is too good. I was with all the beta testers who said the ability should be a frontal cone only instead of full 360º AoE, but that never happened.
    End the tedious inventory management game.
