On the flip side, it's bust in PvE with many people leveling alts.

But yes, the lag is bloody awful. My feeling for the game is at an all time low.

ok, you developers,, need to FIX the lag and ping in the game!!!!!, its the worst on any online game i've seen. if you guys think you're losing people to other games, because of that specific game or games, you're not, think again, grow up, people are leaving because THERE IS SO MUCH LAG IN YOUR MEGA SERVER!!!!!!

I haven't felt any lag on my end, are you sure it is their end and not your internet providers that are causing the lag. I had a friend who played wow with me and had lag all the time while I was just fine while doing stuff side by side, 3 months later he moved got a new provider and rarely experienced lag in any game he played after that. I am not saying ZOS doesn't have lag but it isn't always on their end either. Remember the internet is a 2-way super highway.

i have been playing mmo's for about 15 years and in that time i have never had a ping this high.
on average in other games I would see 15-25ms pings in this game my average is 90-95 (and thats a good day not in cyrodiil)

i just do not understand how with newer technology we are getting service 4x worse, it makes no sense

Have lag in PvP in huge fights, not else and that is huge fights only.
Has also had some lag spikes.
Has however had issues porting to elden root and to full PvP campaigns.

Ping gives insight into the route to the server. Not the technology on the server as you seem to imply.

"The results of a ping test vary depending on the quality of the Internet / network connection. A good broadband Internet connection (wired or wireless) typically results in ping test latency of less than 100 ms, often less than 30 ms. A satellite Internet connection normally suffers from latency above 500 ms."

I've had a incredible connection the last couple of weeks... No lag for me.

EDIT: I'm on NA, maybe that has something to do with it.

I can honestly say I have experienced no such lag of which you speak. At times it certainly hits but due to the internet provider, as for their megaserver I can not complain. So as others did say, could be your internet provider.

It's not. Speedtests against servers in Frankfurt: 3-4ms and 98Mb/s up and down. Latency in game varies from 100 to 999+ depending on the population in the zone, with heavy, heavy lag. This is on the EU megaserver anyway. Happens in all zones that are medium to heavy population such as Craglorn, Stormhaven (DC) etc.

This is probably purposefully implemented as a means of demand management. Zenimax wants the subs, but they're looking for ways to keep players playing at the minimum amount of time before they drop their subs. Your financial contribution is the same no matter how often you play, whereas the more you play the more it costs them to operate their infrastructure. If you pay your sub and play less, you're more profitable to Zenimax.

They won't fix this, it's part of their business model. They would have fixed it already otherwise.

Im on EU server. If it was my provider i should lag in more games. Since i lag away in TESO i play other online games, also other mmo's. And I do not lag there.

I'll try again tonight. If i lag i will go play the new expansion of SWTOR. I wanna shoot laz0rs.

Well considering I have business class internet provider and 80-120mbps speed i know it snot me. Also, in my TS chat i have 30 people from all over the country experiencing the lag as well. PVP NA server Thornblade.

Oh yeah, everyone in zone chat is consistently complaining.

Sadly with a guild with users from all over europe experiencing lag at the same time, this has nothing to do with ISP and everything to do with ZOS Servers.

I'm playing on the NA server, but i'm connecting from europe, so i'm naturally getting a ping between 170-200 which is not good, but absolutely ok if it stays this way. unfortunately the ping often goes up to 300 and more and stays there for quite a while. and then suddenly the lag hammer hits the server and everyone gets ridiculously high pings of 2-3 seconds and they usually go up so high that you can't do anything else other than walking around.

This also happens in PVE zones, so you can't play the game at all.

We understand the frustration expressed in this thread and others like it. Though we may not respond to every one, we do read them and are very aware of the game performance issues some of you are experiencing in Cyrodiil. There are many contributing factors that can potentially result in lag and game performance issues. Each time we identify one, we do all we can on our end to make things run more smoothly. For example, we have identified an issue with particle effects staying on player characters longer than they should. We're currently investigating and working toward a fix.

We know that this may not be the immediate all-encompassing fix or answer everyone is hoping for; we want you to know that improving game performance and reducing lag in Cyrodiil is an ongoing effort we're dedicated to.

It's not just Cyrodiil. Something has changed recently. I used to never get lag in PvE, now it's like I'm playing a stop-motion animation almost everywhere I go. Nothing has changed on my end. I'm getting infinite loading screens at least 4 times per session which I have to end process on ESO to get out of.

Thanks for your response. Who can I contact about getting a subscription credit? I work a 9-5 job, eat dinner..then hop on only to have to log off because the game isn't really playable. I feel like I am paying for a service that I cant use at my convenience as advertised.

My only concern is this seems to be a recent in the last 1-3 months, before we have the same population in the Cyrodiil but now....

Have you try defragment your hd , I have done this last week and I have better results.

Me I lag only where im near of exemple ; fire , magical light etc..
