-========LAG IS UNBEARABLE===============---

Well, good news for me is that last night the game was 95% lag-free so I was playing again. Hopefully, things are getting sorted quickly. I think ZOS is a good company and for most are very responsive to players and their wishes and request. Of course, they will not be able to cater to each and everyone and every little wishes we have. But personally, just the fact that they have implemented so many of the previous suggestions by players, taking into account what players wants etc, are quite impressive to me. There are a few other companies out there who really don't give a toss about their players at all eg. EA.

So hopefully, this lag and other lag related issues will be sorted out real quick because its just basic - there is no point being a sub if you can't play at all. In all, I love ESO (and its 90% awesome community!) and would like to continue playing and supporting the game, through its growing pains. As long as I can play the game..

    Cheers!

No, it seems you don't understand the frustration. I know that's the PR thing to say, I'm in customer service myself. But we both know it's total BS. Soo many people that play this game have lives outside of it. Families, kids, work, school etc etc. The one thing you want when your PAYING for a subscription, is to be able to enjoy it with what little time you have. Currently we CAN NOT do that. P.S. Stop with the BS about our internet connections. EU might have that problem, but anyone smart enough to play this game is smart enough to know if their internet is being whacky. Just stop. It's on YOUR end. Not ours.

Just finished playing pure pve in zones. Started out just fine but within ten minutes things started to lag and slow down. I started in Rivenspire collected some mats ported to Craglorn(AD) to do some crafting writs and bam combat was lagging like a biatchhh. It was actually to the point where I was in front of where I was being attacked by a couple of seconds. I traveled to Bangkorai and experienced the same delay of around two seconds.

I just had finished playing a half hour of Tera before logging in and everything was fine there. No lag whatsoever. How the frack can Zos not understand where this is coming from on their server. Please Zeni throw a freaking bone here and ACKNOWLEDGE you guys have a serious issue and what YOU are doing to address it.

Or quite simply people have had enough!
A little to late to make any difference in this case, 6 months of deteriorating performance in Cyrodill with very little communication from ZOS and a few lines from Jessica probably doesn't cut it for most.
The chief's of ZOS should be forced to play an hour of PVP on Thornblade on any evening, then they should be asked if this is good enough!
They should then be apologising to the community for the crap we have had to put up with.

Consider how many times your system has crashed out of the game. Those files are likely fragmented.

No. Fragmenting may have some impact on game performance, but the reason for it is patching, not crashing. No game files are modified while you are running the game, and no files are becoming fragmented from normal gameplay, whether the game crashes or not.

You're talking utter jack, EVERYONE in a large PVP fight is lagging, so you're either lying, playing on a shard with 5 people on it or simply not PVPing at all.

You can't say "I'm not" when we get huge lag fights where NO one can do anything, zone chat fills up with references to lag and no one dies for 10 minutes because we can't hit each other. You can't say "I'm not" when the lag gets so bad the entire shard crashes forcing every single person out of the game. You can't say "I'm not" when we're logging back in to find the entire progress made on the shard has been rolled back to an earlier point, your food buff is an hold one, you've lost skill progress and the scroll you just spent an hour capturing has been returned to the enemy.

So sick of the "I'm not lagging" people. If you're not lagging you've clearly never tried to contest a 3way keep attack on a locked server.

OH right so the way to fix the lag is for everyone to stop PVPing the way the game was advertised, and to walk away from our keeps when they are being taken. Perfect.

Yeah they definitely advertised the Megaserver as a lag-free experience able to handle hundreds (100+?) players on the screen at a time.

So far I haven't seen that happen without crashing or being totally plagued by lag...

The worst part is in the past we actually have been able to play with hundreds on the screen at the same time. So we know it's possible. Anybody who's played since beta remembers the good old days.

I would gladly give up the particle effects, the added sound effects, and whatever else we didn't ask for that is contributing to the problem so that PvP in peak hours playable again.

I remember before release HUGE 3 way fights with hundreds of people like swarms and swarms of bees around a keep and siege flying everywhere - with... no... lag...

Why did it get worse? How did it get live without testing? Is the capital gained from sales and subs not paying for QA? I mean I understand rough starts but aren't things supposed to get better as the game matures?

Well, after many moments of waiting for the server to decide tonight if I could pick that flower, or search that yellowed outlined body, and seeing loads of people ask 'lag?' in Zone, eventually the server got fed up with me and just kicked me. I see we don't have any errors anymore, not even the unknown ones. Just kick, back to the login screen.

I get the message, you don't want me here tonight. I'll go watch some Arrow then.

PVE has been suffering from outbreaks of lag for some time now, they fix most of it, just before they bring out an update and break it down again.

Here's a thought! How about all of you who are experiencing this deadly lag try posting your system specs and reported Internet Speeds from a reliable Speed Test Site so that we can determine your issues. Make a thread about it that just contains your specs and reported speed tests and FPS from the game. Think you can do something productive like that or are you just going to keep making useless threads for complaining?

I'm betting that once we start seeing System Specs and Ping Test reports we're going to get a whole new picture of what's going on here. Here's My Ping Report.

I am glad you know about the Lag , this is mostly in Cryodill , it took you 3 weeks to try and correct the lag back after the Awesome Lightning patch . and while it was fixed it was never back to the state it was pre lightning patch.

Now is pretty bad since the last patch, spent 4 min trying to fire off 1 arrow , really just rehire whoever you laid off that actually set up your server, so they can fix your game for you . because it is obvious you guys have no clue wtf to do to fix it .

My sub is up in a few days taking a break until i read on the forums the lag is fixed as i am only here for the AvA , not the pve quest grind and current lag makes large scale fights and keep siege almost unplayable .

Step aside, please or this might hurt: 177Mb/17Mb/12ms (and for an actual 180Mbit/18Mbit subscription, that's pretty accurate).

The LAN is a full 1 gigabit with transfer speeds between systems up to 112MB/sec. (that's megabyte and that's it's lower than its theoretical speed (125MB/sec) could be attributed to a damaged network cable. I still have to replace one.)

But the system I run on is an i5-2500K, 16GB DDR3, AMD HD 7870-2GB, Soundblaster Audigy, 1 Gbit/100Mbit LAN NIC, Cat 6 UTP cable (week old, 10 meters), Windows 7 - 64bit, and some 5 TB of drive space divided over 3 HDDs.

    Room temperature: 17 Celsius
    CPU max temp: 54 celsius
    GPU max temp: 53 Celsius
Eso.exe max work commit (KB): 1,544,969 KB

Using /lantency I saw RTTs of 54, but mostly in the 70-90s and high ones (in buildings no less) of 390ms. Some stuttering happened in Daggerfalls, but RTT didn't falter, stayed at 54ms at that moment.

Will continue to play with /latency on tonight.

It's not just the pve that matters here. Zeni knows they need to fix this lag problem before they can release the delayed(most likely because of said lag) Imperial City and the console release. If it's not fixed Zeni knows the console release will flop just as hard as the PC and they can't afford for that to happen.

We understand the frustration expressed in this thread and others like it. Though we may not respond to every one, we do read them and are very aware of the game performance issues some of you are experiencing in Cyrodiil. There are many contributing factors that can potentially result in lag and game performance issues. Each time we identify one, we do all we can on our end to make things run more smoothly. For example, we have identified an issue with particle effects staying on player characters longer than they should. We're currently investigating and working toward a fix.

We know that this may not be the immediate all-encompassing fix or answer everyone is hoping for; we want you to know that improving game performance and reducing lag in Cyrodiil is an ongoing effort we're dedicated to.

Thanks for your response. Who can I contact about getting a subscription credit? I work a 9-5 job, eat dinner..then hop on only to have to log off because the game isn't really playable. I feel like I am paying for a service that I cant use at my convenience as advertised.

My only concern is this seems to be a recent in the last 1-3 months, before we have the same population in the Cyrodiil but now....

Bad idea, if you get a subscription credit, then you won't get your 9-month reward pet.
