Clothing Profession - Craft Costumes, Shirts, Blouses, Dresses

I seriously hope ZOS considers adding this feature down the road in a future update. Basically, I'm proposing that the Clothing Profession can craft various costumes, shirts, blouses and dresses (these recipes would be scattered throughout Tamriel). These articles of clothing would not serve any functional purpose besides decorative appeal. However, this would definitely support roleplaying within ESO. Furthermore, this would also expand the market for Clothiers. Heck, ladies could even put on a wedding dress if they wanted to. If you like this idea, please show support. Thanks.

They could add it as a subsection to Clothing, WW (for decorative Staves as example) and Blacksmithing (think royal, dress armor). I would LOVE to see ZoS put in a costume slot system like Rift has. The first is unlocked, each additional space would be unlocked by gold/achievements/progression in the main storyline/etc to have multiple costume slots to swap between at will for RP or just the fun of it. The costumes would be stored on those slots just like our armor is while equipped so as to not consume bag space.

    I stand not against this!

Do we wear dresses as armor or dresses as costumes?

I really want to see cultural clothing so if Motifs could be used to craft it that would be fantastic. I really like this idea. I'd also like to see them implement costumes you can equip in the disguise slot. I think these would be great for various "uniforms" like chef, Lion Guard, barkeep, court jester, fortune teller but also for more elaborate ensembles, especially things like court clothing that might have more of a flowing robe effect or even a cloak or cape. Those sorts of things could probably only really be done as costumes so I'd like to see that expand as well.

    Well said.

I would love to see more options first before we go too much into RP clothing and costumes as those lose their effect anyways in combat as far I know.

Right now the options for things like headwear are extremely limited. We cant even make a headband, a shirt or new underwear. What about a crown or just a circlet?

The old underwear is really starting to smell on my chars and running with the same helmet gets smelly too - we cant wash hair yet so...

Id love for both clothing and blacksmithing to have the ability to create decorative outfits/ costumes. Perhaps even a system where costumes found in game could be "learned" and recreated.

Works on the premise you actually have a destination to wear said items ?

For me, that would be any city that I have saved. My armor needs to air out and swapping into clothing would be nice when I was in town. Making it a costume that rides over the existing armor is even better as I usually forget to change back into armor when I leave towns in RPG's.

I might even want to put on a Ranger type outfit for traveling around, then armor up for Delves and Dungeons.

So, I don't need a specific place to wear a costume, just a reason to.

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

    Fair dos.
I was thinking some formal occasion where others met which required a location.
Not from a casual wear perspective.

    That could be fun too.

Perhaps a Formal Ball or a Nordic Oktoberfest type of even where you have to dress up to attend. Maybe during the Nord event at some point the screen goes dark and and you wake up with reduced stats for an hour or so due to hangover.

Sounds eerily like meeting this sanguine character in a tavern once. Details are vague though :/

Just a wee head's up for you on your first paragraph. Costumes don't lose their effect in combat; disguises do. Once you leave the area the disguise is designed for, though, it becomes a costume, and you keep it even in combat. So long as you don't re-enter any area where the disguise is useful, it will remain as a costume and you can wear it wherever you like.

Thank you! I didn't know that.
