Dark Flare - Healing Debuff Bug

This skill applies the 40% healing debuff even if it is reflected using the One Hand and Shield Reflect, Reflective Scales, or Eclipse.

Oh and the healing debuff stacks with itself if applied more than once.

    How did you manage to get hit with Dark Flare more than once during the debuff duration ? That's pretty much impossible outside of an experiment specifically designed to do just that, basically you standing still and an army of Templars firing on all cylinders.

    Well I'm just saying it stacks with itself. I know it's harder to pull off then the lethal arrow stack, but I'm just putting it out there.

    • Fix Volendrung (spawn location - weapon white on the map causing the wielder to keep it forever - usable with emperorship)
    • Remove / Change CPs System, remove current CP/noCP campaigns and introduce one 30days with lock, one with no locks
    • Fix crashes when approaching a keep under attack because of bad / wrong rendering prioritization system
    • Change emperorship to value faction score points and not alliance points - see this and this
    • Fix long loading screens (mostly caused by players joining group out of rendering range)
    • Add 2 more quickslots to the wheel or add a different wheel for sieges weaponry only
    • Fix Balista Bolts not dealing damage on walls or doors if deployed at a certain place

    There are plenty of ranged caster Templars that use Dark Flare. Getting hit by (or reflecting) Dark Flares with a frequency higher than one every 6" is not only possible, but nowadays happens a lot to the front line warriors that use either Scales or Defensive posture to mitigated ranged damage.

    Even if it wasn't common (which it is) the question would still be relevant. Should the effect stack with itself and should it be applied even when you reflect? The answer to both is probably no.

    Actually the debuff is also reflected, so it might be that both the caster and the target become debuffed.

    Furthermore, the self-debuff when reflected is often instantaneous, which means that you often debuff yourself even before the projectile has reach whoever is going to reflect it.

    Also, the debuff also often applies to the target before the projectile hits him so dodging dark flare becomes trivial to any alert player - unless his focus is preoccupied elsewhere.

    Dark flare in general is so in need of an overhaul @ZoS. The damage should scale a little higher, the debuff shouldn't stack, instead of increasing weapon/spell power of the next attack (which is broken anyways) it should just flat out increase the templar's power for 6 seconds and the projectile should be sped up significantly.

    Pretty much sums up the changes needed. In fact all Templar ranged attacks need to hit a little bit harder but more importantly faster, probably at the same pace as Crystal Frags. No reason not to.

    My experience has been the complete opposite. Can't remember the last time I've even seen DF used at all, let alone been hit by it, and the visual effect is hard to miss. I don't think I've ever seen it on my death recaps at all since they were introduced. I do plenty of zerg diving on both my Templar and NB btw.

    That being said, the obviously unintended portions of the skill should be fixed...eventually.

    1.3 second cast time, 6 second healing debuff duration. 6 seconds is plenty of time to get at least 3 of those babies off.

    when you are at it ZOS correct the effective duration from 3-4 sec to the tooltip 6 sec aswell.

    should really be fixed, if it's broken. that being said, i wouldn't use it if it had twice the damage. cast duration and anyone with stamina left who doesn't just dodge roll it, will probably be dead anyway before it lands...

    the other morph is much better, imho. unfortunately I don't have a slot for it on my bars, either :/

    Let's be honest though, you'd have to be incapable of being able to see a sun coming right at you to not dodge this ability barring a large group of templars spamming it. Sounds buggy though.

    nerf krim, buff debuffs!

    srsly tho. can't they just implement a -50/60/70% heal cap, and then make the abilities that effect healing reduce in the 20-30% range each or somethign so 2 different ones would get you to cap.

    1st bug: Heal debuff is stacking
    2nd bug: Heal debuff ist not reflectable
    3rd bug: Your Target is also getting the dmg buff on their next attack
    4th bug: The Heal debuff is not blockable

    I think the 2nd and 4th bug are caused due the aoe effekt of this ability

    Please fix the stacking of healing debuffs. It's lovely in PvE, but a total buzzkill in PvP.

    Dark Flare will without a doubt get sorted soon (RIP easymode DK slayer :cry: ). But more needs to be included. The highest healing debuff value should stand, but not stack with others. Is that really hard to code or something?

    There's multiple skills in-game that reduces healing, add weapon disease enchants and meat-bags on top of it. Spamming Purge these days isn't exactly easy either with all the exploding walls on the ground lol. There's also the annoyance of using smart heals (to save yourself or group) while being in range of low health random players with 0-20% inc healing. They suck all your heals per design, drains your precious magicka, while not actually getting healed :tired_face:
