Why is Dragon leaping into keeps a thing?

Chains was nerfed into oblivion because people would pull friends onto the keeps. So, why can people still use Dragon Leap to get onto keep walls and even onto the keeps themselves?

Isn't there potential for some low level alt to just sit at the edge and allow his friends to all dragon leap up?

Chains was nerfed so bad that it's now utterly useless, but getting onto keeps is still part of the game. It's not really that difficult to charge an ult, I don't see what the difference is.

is this because of that pathetic EP player that stole that scroll in thornblade almost unopposed due to horrendus lag?

i myself am neutral on this. ZOS cant nerf flight to uselessness . if they do, they may as well just scrap it and replace it with another ultimate.

Take flight is probably the skill you are referring to, I think it's the extra 8 meters or there abouts that helps get on to walls of keeps in most scenarios. I'm not a DK though, so perhaps a DK to chime in to clarify. This is just from observation only.

Again, the skill is called Take Flight... I'd wager that means the skill is working as intended, common sense really. Chains on the other hand, ZOS said many times that chains was not working as intended.

Personally, I love the take flight skill. It looks awesome on the battlefield and on keeps when they fly up to greet you, not much fun when you are the sole recipient of course

If anything, as I play an NB mostly, I'm envious of the skill. Looks like a tonne of fun.
Been here since Feb 2014 - You'd think I'd be half reasonable at this game by now...

No event triggered this post, I've been thinking about this for a while now.

Personally, I don't want to see it get nerfed, but I also didn't want to see chains get nerfed. I just want them to be consistent, if their goal with nerfing chains was to stop this, then leaving dragon leap is an insult to people who used chains, and have skill points & time invested in the skill.

Take Flight is the morph of Dragon Leap. I'm not sure if the extra 8 meters is always required, I know there are a few places where the keep walls are pretty close to the keep.

Seriously Rylana? You're insulting people who defend their keeps intelligently?

Going down to the courtyard, or outside the walls and fighting is a huge risk for the defense of a keep. If someone dies out there, they are very difficult to revive, and they can't spawn on the keep because it's under attack. If you can't wipe the attackers entirely, fighting on level ground and ignoring the advantages of defending is just about the stupidest thing anyone could do.

I personally LOVE it when my enemies act intelligently, don't you?

I use take flight, there's very specific areas you have to stand in order to leap onto someone else on a keep.

The other morph that has shorter range allows you to jump up on about any side of the keep and didn't get the y value nerf take flight got.

If you want to get into keeps, the other morph is better because it is ... bugged? Idk, It's not a big deal imo.

There is a difference between playing it safe, and only ever pvping in a situation where you literally have no risk. i.e. hiding in keeps all day always on defense, always out of range, but able to shoot people on the ground

that aint pvp, and it will be a sad day indeed if they ever change leap.

Yeah I get what you mean. I like leap the way it is. I don't like the spell/armor resist morph though. It's clearly not working as intended when compared to its opposite morph.

Clearly. But, the discussion I'm trying to start is about game mechanics and the consistency of them. If the mechanic of pulling someone up with chains was taken out, then why leave in another mechanic that lets you fly up? They both allow a player to go from the ground to the top of a wall.

Actually, I wasn't waving at you. Yes, I am the person you jumped on (I was on my Templar at the time). I was talking to a friend in NM about the lag and looked out and saw him on top of the tower. I told him as much and he waved at me so I waved back. Then suddenly you just materialized on the edge of the tower a few feet from them. I have no idea how you got there without anybody seeing you but from my point of view it was like you just appeared out of thin air. There was another player standing next to the scroll that never saw you while you were taking it either, so I don't know if it was a lag thing or what that was making it seem like you were vanishing and reappearing. I also have no idea how you got a leap to work in that lag when nothing else was working. I certainly couldn't damage you once you got inside. It was a cheap move but wtf can you do. Stuff like that will keep happening until ZOS fixes the lag.

I leapt on Ysmira to get inside and steal the scroll? Score! Btw, I heard stealthing makes players not visible.

I mean I don't understand how you were able to get through all the blues without them seeing you. Or how the person standing next to the scroll couldn't see you when you were taking it. You also disappeared for me again once you were inside and at the top of the stairs on the top floor. I couldn't see you anymore after that so I was just yelling out for other people to look for you. Like I said, I guess it was a lag thing.

It was me stealthing a lot before getting inside, then running fast as hell to get out of the keep, dodge rolling the shield charge spam from DC as I went. People saw me, but you didnt because I dipped as soon as I got in. Btw, guards dont aggro if you jump down into the scroll area.

It's not PvP. It's AvA. It's a war. The goal is not to kill the most enemies, or survive the most fights, or deal the most damage. The goal is to win the war. If that means hiding in a keep and shooting people where they have little to no chance of hitting you back, so be it. I hide in keeps all day long, and I run every time a tank looks at me. I have 2k hp, and I'm not ***, so the chances of me going toe to toe with some 3k+ tank are pretty *** slim.

No, you're accusing me of using a same-faction friend to exploit, which you try to justify by using irrelevant, anecdotal evidence(and also taking a shoddy jab at the entire EP faction). SHE not he :pensive:

And @ roechacca - No I most certainly didn't let him jump on me on purpose. I was kicked from my guild specifically because I wouldn't reroll to EP thank you very much. I get that it may have happened in the past but that gives you no right to accuse me of doing it when you have no idea what you're talking about. It really was a case of lag and luck working in his favour this time as I couldn't see him at all until it was too late nor could I damage him once he was inside to stop him due to the lag. Though trust me I tried.

Someone probably logged in a Alt toon but then in the perfect spot so the other player stealing the scroll could leap up . It takes that kind of coordination to work . I have a video of a guild I left doing it . I imagine that sort of game play is not working as intended . I believe that guild went to EP cause they couldn't hack fighting outnumbered . But what ever , if their having fun now , good for them .

If Ysmira is an alt of any EP player, then PST with his name. Otherwise, go back to making crappy recruitment videos for DC <3

I could care less who did it or why . I'm just letting people know it takes coordination because I've seen it done . That way people know it's not just a random lucky Dragon Knight's day an go cry nerf to all my friends playing DK . So get over your self ... I have .

No, you're accusing me of using a same-faction friend to exploit, which you try to justify by using irrelevant, anecdotal evidence(and also taking a shoddy jab at the entire EP faction). Ysmira didnt want the scroll to get capped; he messed up by standing close to the edge; the scroll got stolen. No exploiting was done, but you can keep QQing. <3

Hahahahaha what ever man . I'm a nobody . A empty box car . Why even bother reading my stuff right . I hope EP had fun tonight . See Ya next fight .

See? You're not only accusing me of exploiting without any evidence, but you're insulting him too. Lucky? Yes Ironic? Yes, AD placed the DC scroll there to encourage lag fests, and it's hilariously ironic that they lost it due to their planned lagfest.
