Fixed this for yaGo with windows 8.1. Set it to start in the desktop and pay $2 to get start is back get ClassicShell for free. You won't miss windows 7 in the slightest.
Windows 8.1 is faster in games then Windows 7 with the same hardware.
Microsoft is warning customers that the end is soon coming for Windows 7 in much the same way it came for Windows XP earlier this year. Microsoft will end free mainstream support for Windows 7 on January 13, 2015.
Windows 7. Just because of "The Rule": Microsoft fracks up 1/2 versions.
WIn 95: Success.
Win 98: Failure (BSOD much?)
Win 2000: OK (Very stable OS)
Win ME: Failure
Win XP: Big success.
Win Vista: Failure
Win 7: Big success (basically Vista with it's issues fixed)
Win 8: Failure (8.1 fixed some stuff but still sucks).
Win 10: Looks promising(Looks like Windows 8 with major issues addressed).

First off... that "rule" is just... stupid and just for laughs.
Secondly, you have forgotten Windows 98 SE, which worked just fine... and about every NT version...
And as many have already pointed out in this very threat: Win 8 has, in fact, a better kernel as Win 7...

@Magnusnet Unless you are able to provide me with any details on the problem(s) you have experienced with Win 8(.1) regarding incompatibility or stability and not simply the UI, I am simply going to assume you base your findings mostly on "I don't like the way it looks" and what you read in forums rather than actual first-hand experience. Please feel free to contact me regarding your issues.

Window 8.1 64 bit and wont will have problem at all with any game to be honest and @magnusnet window 10 basically only have window start button feature which is was is big news window 10 othervise will be like window 8.1 ^^
TyrelionPrime wrote: »So basicly... you are saying "Win 8 doesn't bring much more to the table than Win7 with marginal if non existent performance gains" which just disproves your earlier statement "Win 7 works better than Win 8".
And seeing you simply reply with some links to some benchmarks... my assumption that you base your statement on what you read instead of first-hand experience, is true. Thank you for proving my point this accurately.
I consider this case closed.

Plus, in Windows 7 (also UEFI mode), lots of games, even ESO, stuttered like hell for me. In windows 8 , it's gone, as if magic happened (and I don't think ZOS fixed that, naaah)
One useful tip: Don't login with your Windows Live ID, especially if your Live ID user name has accents in them (áíé etc.), this WILL be your home directory name and WILL cause lot of trouble for many a software.Fixed this for yaGo with windows 8.1.
