Launcher stops part way through the patching process

I tried patching the client to play, and it stops during the apply patch at 4703.61 MB left to patch. I have tried stopping and restarting the launcher and it stops at the same place. It will not change the amount remaining after 2 hours. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the client but still it stops at the same location. I have also tried restarting the PC and running it again.

Has anyone else had this happen and knows how to resolve it? I have already submitted a ticket to the support team, but have not heard back from them. I have been working on trying to log in and patch for the last 10 hours since the game went live.

And help would be appreciated.

I think I might have fixed it. I have uninstalled the beta, and then went to Program Files (x86)\Zenimax Online and deleted the folder. Since it did not remove the files when it uninstalled the program. I am currently installing and downloading the client from start. About 5 GB downloaded and shouldn't have to patch it when it finishes. I should know in another 4 hours.

    Hey there @billcage,

Do you happen to run into any error messages while the patch is installing? If so, please let us know what they are and we'll be happy to help from there.

As a general step, some anti-virus/firewall software can block the installation of the game. We recommend temporarily disabling any background applications you may have running. When the installation completes, ensure that you enable your security software again.

I am on the NA server and when I was downloading Monday mine did that. I did notice where it usually says downloading or apply patch, it said WebGet Request Failed and it just sat there doing nothing. I had to close the launcher several times causing it to verify anything it had already downloaded each time. It stopped at the same spot every time. Finally it started working.

    Finally i found a solution :)

    Click on Start; click Run
•Type msconfig; right-click to Run as Administrator
•Click on Selective startup; unselect "Load startup items"
•Click on Services tab; select "Hide all Microsoft services"; then select "Disable all"
    •Click Apply; then OK
    •Restart PC

You have to disable your MS services to play? Wow.. Maybe somewhere in disabling all of that stuff, you shouldn't have to disable to play, sound is getting turned off. There was a bug a month ago where you had to disable and re enable your sound card and services to get the game to play sound. Maybe try that.

    Hey there,

The solution that @billcage posted is a standard selective startup, which disables everything *except* for Microsoft services :P.

That said, if you're experiencing issues with the sound, again a repair is the best option. If you're getting stuck anywhere along the patch process or the repair process, our best suggestion is to contact customer support with a game consultant file attached. They'll be able to take a look and see why you're running into issues with the patcher.

    Thanks for your patience everyone!
