We have a group of 3 levelling Vet alts questing Crag for the first time.
We romped through Lower Crag and completed everything as a trio from Shada's Tear to Anomalies etc with no problems. We wander into Upper Crag for the first time, enter Fearfang's cavern and get a severe lesson in humility. Absolutely thumped at the snake boss. So I went looking for some tips on what we're doing wrong. I found a couple of youtube clips (nothing anywhere else). In those clips they basically just run in and fight. There doesn't seem to be a "trick" to it.
The difference between those clips and what we see, however, is night and day. In those clips they get between 4-8 little snakes (2 in one clip) in addition to the mobs present at the start throughout the entire fight. When we fight it we get somewhere between 20-30 plus another 2 larger snakes all descending on us in very quick succession. I capped it and tried to count them all but it wasn't possible. There were too many clipping inside each other etc but after 45 seconds or so the initial boss + 5 mobs had turned into boss + 30 mobs which is about as long as we could survive. An army of wrigglies along with the insta-kill poison pools appearing every 5 seconds non-stop we're finding it impossible.
So we get 20-30 snakes, at once, compared to the clips I've seen with 4-8 for the entire fight.
What are we doing wrong to get the Indiana Jones snake-pit descending on us?
We lack dps in a big way and that's part of the fun (Heavy DK noob, my templar hybrid healing and a "dps" templar) but surely they don't expect the boss to be downed in 30 seconds?
